This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. We look forward to meeting you and will help you out in any way to make your trip here something to remember.
Adventure awaits at this eco-camping hostel offering a natural setting, overlooking a picturesque valley. This location offers close to off-grid camping with a twist of comfort; furnished Glamping tents, sleeping up to 4 people per tent on a queen bed with twin camping beds for extra guests. Cooking gear, bedding, and towels are provided. Each tent, located at this eco-hostel, has its own campfire pit, with a solar outdoor shower on site and beautiful views of the river valley.

At the other side of the harbour is Ingonish Ferry. At one time the road around the harbour did not exist. People, horses and goods came across the bar by means of a ferry. There were many wharves with wooden ships tied up.
The long white building on the corner used to be on the bar.
A walk along the bar will award you with a view of the Keltic Lodge. Continue straight at the corner and you will find a trail that will take you to Ingonish beach.

Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?!
This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!!
There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat!
Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit!
- TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent.
Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy!
**KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything.
For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share!
On the property, there is:
- A decent-sized lake (I wish I had a canoe... :( )
- 1700's abandoned bridge
- Lots of foraging (Won't be held liable if ya eat something silly!)
- Rail Trail (runs through the property)

This is a sweet little property of approximately an acre, though the whole lake is undeveloped. The site is treed with mostly mature trees and overlooks Little Robertson Lake. The lake is close, but the shoreline is not extremely easy to access. This campsite is private, but not remote. It is located close to a byway and you can drive in. There is not too much traffic on the adjacent road which leads to several white sand ocean beaches and trails along with Keji Seaside National Park and Thomas Raddall Provincial Park. We provide visitors with a rustic, unique, "glamping" experience. The Boat is filled with lobster-themed items that will send you on an imaginary lobster pot-pulling adventure.
Cook on the back deck as you drink in nature, then eat in an original ship's wheelhouse or outside at the picnic table by the fire pit. Our amenities also include: fishing rods, comfy beds, fresh drinking-water, refrigerator, 2 bathroom facilities, a hot outdoor shower, walking trails, microwave, and AC. The boat can sleep 5 guests, but a private raised glamping tent is provided for overflow if required.
Off property you will find: auto race watching (at Riverside raceway), hiking, biking, ocean fishing, and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition runs from Aug 27-31.
Want to swim at St. FX University swimming pool? Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea!

We have 2 Bunkies on the property both very private, both off grid. The Meadowbrook comes with 2 folding camp cots 50$ per night . The Stargazer has a comfy double futon 60$. Both have bbqs, and fire-pits.

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful spot. My seven year old loved the Perch and the pulley system to get small items up! There are many little touches that make the space feel well cared for. The walk to the camp was made easier with wagon/wheel barrow. Many things are provided and were appreciated.

I loved my stay at Lee’s place! The sites were well equiped with each a picnic table and fireplace, some sites even had wooden platform. The bathroom area was clean and the outdoor shower was awesome! It even had hot water! I stayed for three nights and it was pretty calm and peaceful! The view of the mountain was gorgeous, especially in the morning with the fog! I left early in the morning, so i didn’t have the chance to enjoy it, but they even have coffee at the shop! The staff was very kind! I highly recommend to stay at Lee’s place.

A beautiful and private spot situated on Tupperware Lake. The clever and practical details added to the site were terrific and much appreciated. We also appreciated how helpful Karen was. She really makes an effort to ensure you have what you need. We loved the kayaks and swimming off the dock about 50m offshore. The lake looks small but on the kayaks and canoe you can easily explore other extensions of the lake. Use the supplied life jackets of course! We definitely hope to return in the future!

OMG this site is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful flowers, shrubs, gardens and the lawns look like greens on a golf course! The screened gazebo is so comfortable, a definite paradise! If you are quiet there are lots of bunnies around too! The attention to detail to your site will not be found at all campground! Central location to beaches, quaint fishing villages and restaurants! Do yourself a favour, book the site! You won’t regret it!

A sweet and safe stay for one night. The land, campsites and outhouse are well-kept and the view is beautiful. I was the only person camping, so I had free pick of my site and plenty of space to myself, but the campsites are very close together and not very private - I’m people-sensitive while camping so just a note. I saw so many wild hares - so cute!
