The campsite offers a mix of experiences, with many campers appreciating the beautiful ocean views, spaciousness, and the welcoming hosts, Matthew and Francine. Privacy and tranquility are common themes, though some reviews mention issues such as overgrown grass, mosquitoes, and unclean facilities. While some campers enjoyed the serene atmosphere and wildlife, others left due to maintenance concerns and discomfort from insects. The site has potential, but it's clear that amenities and upkeep could be improved to enhance the overall experience.
Uppon arrival, Matthew and Francine have welcomed us with warmth and respect.
They offered us to choose from the avalaible sites to set our camp. ⛺️
We had a majestic view and lots of space to move and play with the dog.
We went paddling from the shores downhill of the site. The water was surprisingly warm !
We had access to hot water for showers, potable water, electricity, firewood+firepits and toilets.
We had a lot of privacy on both nights we spent there and would recommand to anybody who wants to enjoy a nice view while camping.
The campsites themselves were left unkept and had 2' tall grass all around. You could tell it was a site because you could only see the tops of the picnic tables. If you stand on the table you can then search above the overgrown see parts of the stone firepit. Honestly to whole area (house and grounds, discarded cars) looked abandoned. We were there 10min and left to find a different campground to take us last minute. I did not feel like checking my 6yo ever 2min for ticks. The main yard to get to the site was mowed but anything getting close to the sites has been long forgotten.
We stayed easter weekend with two tents and a camper van. Amazing ocean view, nice fire put. Picnic table in great condition. We really enjoyed our stay. We could explore the shoreline for hours and it was easy to set up camp. I would definitely recommend stopping by if traveling through the area
Sand Point is so close to downtown Tatamagouche, yet you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. The sunsets are so great. There were only a few other seasonal campers there when we were, which was also great. We're big fans of sites that aren't jam packed with other campers
I absolutely loved camping at Mat and Francine’s. It was so good of them to share their lovely property with my daughter and I. The view was spectacular from every campsite. As a special little treat to make our trip even more special we had a little visitor, a very friendly hen who help us get rid of any left leftovers and kept any crawly creatures at bay. We will definitely be returning to this spot in the fall.
This site is not a camping per say. Did not want to stay there. I made a mistake when i made the réservation . I thought i was getting électricité and water to hook up our RV . But there were none. It was too complicated and we did not feel good at that place. We are happy to have left. There is so many other and better campings to go rustic . Sorry but Very disapointed.
C'est un belle endroit. Nous avons passé une belle soirée. La vue est vraiment incroyable et la plage est parfaite pour se baigner! Le bloc sanitaire est très bien ☺️
We had the best time!! Our greetikg when we arrived was very friendly. The amenties are meager but do the trick! We stayed for 2 nights on their site closest to the water. It was perfect for us. The water was warm ! All the fowl it attracts was amazing! The first morning there was even a deer just about 20 feet from our tent!! We will definitely be back!! Next time, with more defenses against the mosquitos!! Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!!
This was the best time ever! I loved the hosts and their campsite! Especially site 4 was amazing. We were hoping to reserve one of their barbqs but they were out. However, the owner helped me trouble shoot my problem, he was very helpful. The dogs onsite were gentil and my Beulah had the time of her life. The beach was stoney but was manuverable and we found a small clearing that happend to find out was just at the bottum of the cliff at our site (which was clearly marked, as was everything else).
All this to say we will definetly be back!

PS It was close to amenities. ❤️
A beautiful place with lots of space and great views. At high tide we could even swim in the river. Only the mosquitoes were annoying. Still very recommendable.
Good Spot… we were in site 2, we were suppose to be in# 8, but lots of gooseshite and the misquitos were brutal. But alas moved up to site 2, no problem. It also helped that the wind came up, even the next day, hardly any misquitos. Quiet spot just some travellers in vans coming in around supper and left early in the morning.
The washroom was not clean, full of flies and no soap. Neither toilet paper. There’s way too many flies and mosquitoes day and night. We paid for two nights but had to leave after the first night since we got so many mosquito bites. The bug repellents do not work we used all kind of it. The location is very beautiful but so very not favourable for camping.
Beautiful spot, on a point surrounded by water. Loved playing with the new kittens! Unfortunately the mosquitoes were so bad we didn’t get to fully enjoy being there, and this is no one’s fault of course.
We ended up staying at site 4 it was beautiful views. There was dog shit from the last camper, as well as dog food dumped all over the place. Then host was rude. The bathroom was dirty the whole time we were there. Bathroom has a dirty shower, light and fan but don’t ask the host why the light doesn’t work. You’ll be met with rude comments and told you are camping you should have a flash light.
We stayed in our camper van along the water. The views were amazing and the site was level and well cared for. We enjoyed the fire ring and nice picnic table. Access was very good.
Beautiful views clean camp site, friendly host. A few things to improve would be light in the bathroom and the rooster started squawking at 330am nonstop until we left. Made it hard to sleep.
