Most of our rescued farm animals roam the property freely and absolutely love human visitors. Families with children will also enjoy the natural play areas the farm offers including a shallow creek and visits with our chickens and ducks. Your dogs or other small pets are permitted in the camping areas only as our herd is terrified of dogs. There is another large area (about 5 acres) where well-behaved dogs can run off leash. We have one RV site with septic, water and 50 Amp power and can fit a 40 foot unit and 2 totally private tent sites. There is a full washroom with tub/shower, toilet and wifi access in our old farmhouse which is complimentary during your stay. Welcome to a natural, convenient location with basic amenities on the West Kettle River! We have 300 acres including 1500 meters of river frontage with access to the surrounding crown land and KVR trail which runs through the property. We recommend arriving before dark so that you aren't complaining in a review how hard sites are to find at night, in the dark. Some sites may be overgrown generally a lawn mower is provided for your use. If you are looking for fully serviced campsites where the outhouse is closer than 250m, then you should just carry on! The KVR trail is the access to the property. From HWY 33 South, take the turn (West) onto Tuzo Main Road (about 7km's south of Beaverdell), then cross the wooden bridge over the Kettle River and take the first left onto the KVR trail (a long, straight flat gravel road) and follow for 1900meters. Mostly wide enough for one way traffic only, so please be patient and mindful of trail users on bikes, quads and vehicles. After driving down the KVR right of way about 1.2km, you will arrive at the farmhouse gates - there you will see a little sign for the campground on the tree, so keep going down the right away. Once you go another 600m or so, you will come to a homemade sign with an arrow pointing you left. Turn there and then make a quick right turn then follow the road. You will come to the large tree with a picnic table and two blue barrels marking site #10. Sites 1, 2, 3 ,4 are over at the river, the other RV sites 5, 6, 7, 8, can be any where around site 10 or in the loop. I can always bring the lawner mower over to cut the grass and weeds down just get a hold of me. We currently have 5 tent only sites on the river and 25 RV/Tent sites currently about 100m from the river. There are currently picnic tables with blue umbrellas for sites 1, 3, 4, 10. There is a small white table and chairs for site 2. RV's sites include sites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - I can add many more RV sites. Just need to cut the grass/weeds. Fishing, hiking, exploring, bring your quads, dirt bikes. There's plenty of roads and trails ... Even a secret honey hole fishing spot not far away but that's hush hush only locals know about this gem. A camper told me recently he saw a massive fish (16+ inches), likely a rainbow in the Kettle.

The property does not offer a toilet or other amenities, but it does provide plenty of space, soft grass, and mountain scenery. Popular activities nearby include tubing down the Shuswap River, visiting the only outdoor drive-in movie theatre in British Columbia, hiking at Enderby Cliffs Provincial Park, and driving about 30 minutes south to Vernon to explore Okanagan Lake. Nestled in the woods, our site provides a shady escape from the 30-40 degrees Celcius summer Okanagan heat. Cross the bridge into your own private Oasis. Trees are shelter and homes to various birds. Pitch your tent in an open space at the base of the mountain. Relax on the deck of our Cottage and take in the fresh air whilst listening to the song birds. Located off Highway 6, a 10 minute drive to colourful Kalamalka Lake which boasts of sandy beaches and gorgeous hikes, and a 6 minute drive to beautiful Lavington Park with a playground, off leash dog park and free public swimming pool access during July and August. Walk down the path to your own private creek access, bring a book and relax in a chair by the water and take a dip in the refreshing creek. Note: This site is not accessible by car. You will need to park in front of the bridge, wagons are provided. If lots of rain is forecasted please bring tarps, there are plenty of trees nearby to devote too. There is a powered covered cooking/eating area. You may use the bbq and gas burners at no charge. Drinking and potable water is provided. This site uses a composting toilet with bags that will need to be removed after use and disposed in the appropriate location.

We have been creating a homestead in harmony with nature over the past 11 years. We reside year round in the Post and beam straw bale home that was built in 2000. Our current project is building our “aging in place” hemp lime cottage. Once completed it is our plan to build an in ground greenhouse. Additional future plans include building for a music studio, further development of our food forest, and the offering of self development training workshops. Additional camping/rv sites will be made available in the coming years. Sleep Under the Stars in Our Magical Dome or Camp Spots! Disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life and reconnect with nature in this peaceful dome located in Kaleden, BC. The dome is on 10 acres and borders 350 acres of crownland to explore. Includes a hangout area with a fire pit, patio table and chairs, solar lights, and an outdoor cooking area. There are lights and a charging station in the dome. We also have a Spot for RV's and camper vans to park for the night. **This is a rustic off-grid glamping experience with access by 1 km of gravel road. It only has an outhouse, outdoor heated shower, and no cell or wifi service. Outhouse and Shower: The outhouse is conveniently located just a couple of meters behind the dome. The shower is across from the outhouse and has heated water. Work in Progress: This is our first year open, and we're still in the process of developing the retreat. As a result, you may notice some piles of sticks and dirt. Off-Grid Living: Please note there is no cell service or Wifi at the dome. However, you can get cell service just a short 5-minute drive down the road. Sometimes you can get spotty cell service at the dome if you stand in the right spot.

We absolutely enjoyed our time at Heather's farm. The RV spot was nice and secluded, but just a short walk to the washroom. We loved all of the social animals and space to roam with our dog. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We were a group of 6 in 2 camper vans and a truck tent and the site by the gazebo was great. We enjoyed the views and got to wake up to horses grazing in the pasture. There was lots of space, it was flat, and there was a campfire ring right there. Good group camping spot. Ken was also so friendly and helpful. Such a great host. Charlie (the dog) came to visit as well, so we got to enjoy his company each day too. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved this stay! We were in the Mountain View camp spot, and it was flat and private with gorgeous views of the mountains. We loved wandering the property and seeing the horses, goats, cows, chickens and ducks. There is also the most peaceful little creek that you can sit next to. The best part is that we forgot to bring potatoes for our camp dinner, and there was a potato patch on site and we got to go out with Heather and pick our own potatoes. It was so great! This is a gem of a spot, and you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed here so we could go to the Armstrong fair. It was a lovely spot away from the hustle-bustle of the fair, even though it was only a short drive to Armstrong. Clean porta potty, tidy sites, lovely host! I'm a very light sleeper and I had to wear ear plugs as some of the cars that drove along the back roads were super loud. But my family wasn't bothered... just a note for the light sleepers to have ear plugs. Heard owls in the night. Definitely recommend this spot.
