We have a 40ft shipping container now on site, this has books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. It also has jams, sauces and honey for sale. You can now find us and follow us on Facebook. Search Derby Frasers Flats. No Motorbikes to be used on site. No motorbikes to be used at this camp. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. By arrangement if time permits I can arrange for a cost of $20 per person a look at our dairy during milking.

Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter. Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

WildWing Retreat is a beautiful 25 acre bush block in Four Mile Creek, located within a 15 minute (1km) walk, to the local surf beach of Four Mile. The property has been created to host retreats centred around nature immersion, movement and connection (i.e yoga, bodywork, dance, meditation, mindfuness, embodiment practices etc) and in the 'off season' it's available to host hipcampers! The space has been designed to host large groups, so there are full facilities available to use, including 3 x compost toilets, a fully equipped communal kitchen with all plates, bowls, cups and cutlery, pots and pans, gas cookers and fresh running hot and cold water. There is also an undercover deck/hangout area, a shower block with 5 hot showers, and a wood-fired cedar barrel hot tub (refer to the extras section for hot tub use!). There are walking tracks throughout the property, including a track that leads directly to the beach (15 min walk) and another to our on-site fresh water creek for plunging in! We are surrounded by native wildlife and the property blooms with native Kunzea bushes, wattles, native cherries and various varieties of eucalyptus. There is a beautiful large fresh water river and waterhole just down the road (15 minute walk, or 2 minute drive), and aside from the surf beach down the front, we are also only a 10-15 minute drive from a bunch of other beautiful and popular surf beaches on the east coast. The whole area is great for fishing, boating, surfing, bike riding, walking and short hikes. We are a 10 minute drive from Falmouth, a 25 minute drive from the St Helens mountain bike trails, a 30 minute drive from Bicheno and Douglas Apsley National Park, a 45 minute drive from the infamous Bay of Fires and an hours drive from the Freycinet National Park. We only open up 5 sites at a time, to ensure everyone has plenty of space and a beautiful experience on the land. Huckaway is a little camping oasis just off the Tasman Highway. Green pastures are bordered by forestry land to the East and a river to the South. Go for a bush walk through the forest, a swim or fish in the river, you might even find a trout! This property is the perfect location if you are here to enjoy either the Derby trails or the St Helens trails with some of the shuttles going straight past the front gate! St Helens is a 15-minute drive away and The Bay of Fires is 30 mins. The wide camping area has plenty of open flat space to park any type of caravan or van. Park down near the river, or tuck yourself in beside the forest, up to you. All campers need to be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, and we kindly request you take all your waste with you. There is a dump station in St Helens. Well-behaved pets are welcome also! Please be mindful that dogs do not chase the neighbours cows and please pick up after them. Please always be mindful of ours neighbours and their animals, they sometimes have cows and sheep grazing on the property. Please do not use their water taps.

Friendly and welcoming host in Rosie, thank you for sharing your property with us. Such a wonderful space to enjoy and entertain the kids. The highlight for us was being lucky enough to see a platypus and kayak with it popping up alongside us in the river. We look forward to coming back.

This is a very flat and well-organised place, and it’s easy to get to. It’s close to the village, where you can find toilets with showers and a water refill point. The area is quiet and peaceful, but also great for families. There are books and games available, and plenty of open space for kids to run around or ride their bikes. You can buy homemade products from the farm or nearby areas, like jam and honey. There is also a lot of useful information about things to do around the area. Safety is well covered, with a snake bite kit and a fire extinguer available. The best part of our stay was the wildlife. After three weeks trying to see a platypus without success, we were very lucky here. We saw a rakali at dusk and two platypus at sunrise. One of them was still swimming and playing later in the morning. Check-out is at 12:00, and the platypus was still there when we left.

We had an amazing stay at this camping spot! The owners were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They even offered us fresh quail eggs, which were absolutely delicious for breakfast. Such a lovely family with beautiful kids, and we made a new little friend with their puppy who was always up for a pat. The creek was gorgeous, and the track they’re working on made for a really nice little walk. Even the cows were super friendly! We would definitely recommend this spot and would absolutely love to come back.

What an amazing place! Beautiful 1km ride into town and the tracks, we have a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old and it was really easy with them. So much better than staying in town. Caters well for little kids with swings, tramps and the container of toys. So peaceful and the river is amazing. We were even lucky enough to kayak with a platypus!!! 10/10

This is such a great site. Jonathon was there to greet us and help us settle in. We had access to potable water, a dump point, lovely little cabin with an inside fireplace and an amazing outdoor heated bathtub so you can soak and enjoy the stars. The kids loved meeting Stella the horse and Millie the kelpie dog plus fishing for yabbies and tadpoles in the small dam. It was a very quiet and private spot, protected from the wind by the nearby bush. Lovely views across the valley as well.

What a beautiful spot! So close to the river and perfect having the place all to ourselves. We loved how quiet the camp is, except of course for the birds. A cheeky possum made an appearance our first night along with some chubby wallabies. So much to see with Mt Paris Dam, Derby and Ledgerwood so close. Communication with James was always prompt even when he was out bushwalking on the West Coast. He arranged for his Dad Graeme to meet us and relay anything we needed to know. A perfect spot to just relax and enjoy nature.
