We are located only a 10 minutes drive to one of the most beautiful (secret) beaches in Tasmania and 15 minutes drive to Triabunna where the ferry departs for Maria Island.
We live on site (a few acres away across the rivulet) and are delighted to offer 12 opportunities for self-contained campers to camp on our private land and share our passion for the area.
This is a leave no trace property that suits self-contained campers who bring everything they need and remove everything they bring. Well behaved dogs and humans are all welcome.

As the site is teeming with wildlife including the barred bandicoot, we don't allow dogs.
There are no facilities on the block apart from a long drop dunny (byo paper) and a small supply of non-potable water so you will need to be self-sufficient though there are good meals at the nearby Lufra Hotel and excellent coffee just up the road at the legendary Cubed Coffee van.
We only make provision for two campsites so you'll never be crowded.

The topography slopes up from the road to a large flat top and is dotted with weathered gum trees. There are sweeping views in all directions, including a view of the sunrise to the east and spectacular sunset views toward Hobart's Kunanyi (Mount Wellington).
The property has good access for all vehicles and there are plenty of flat sites for camping at the top of the property. Some minor leveling may be required in parts for RVs and Caravans. Plenty of space though to find your own peaceful, private patch. And you're welcome to bring your dog along too!
Please note: some front wheel drive motorhomes have encountered difficulty getting up the driveway. If you have rented a Fiat Motorhome you wont be able to get to the campground

Our site (we have 1 site only) is positioned on a section of our 3 acre block that is totally private from our residence. We are located an easy 20 minute drive from Hobart airport. The site is not just in a paddock but is surrounded by beautiful native trees and garden - there is a small enclosed camp shelter with power, bench, sink, hot water, wood heater and a bar fridge. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off after a swim.
The beach is a 5 minute walk away. We have a deck positioned to pull up to next to the shed. Clifton Beach is a beachside community located on the south arm peninsula 25 minutes from Hobart city and is the closest surf beach to Hobart.
The south arm peninsula itself has many great walks and beautiful beaches. It is a great spot to base yourself to explore Hobart and local attractions. e.g Port Arthur 90 minutes.

Very private valley nestled between two mountainous sandstone ranges. 3.5 kilometers from Colebrook, via Yarlington road. The property in total size is 37 hectares half of which is gently undulating grassland slopes. These slopes lead to the banks of the beautiful Iles Creek which runs nearly all year round. The western range across the creek includes numerous caves within comfortable walking distance. The highest cave provides magnificent views to the East coast.
Camping options include non-designated sites either side of the creek under the huge black-wood trees, restricted to 4-wheel drive vehicles during winter and spring months, with a secluded site with year-round access for all vehicles.
At the entrance sits the first of the designated sites, the rest are accessed via the meandering road down 300 or so meters to the camping ground entrance for the other two sites. The last 500-700 meters of Yarlington road leading to the entrance is quite steep. Some two wheel drive vehicles towing large vans have found this challenging, while others haven't.
The two main camping areas now have a 'bush loo' in each site. if you wish to use these please use your own paper. Also, now for camper convenience the whole area has access to the campers' lounge and resource shelter. It contains First Aid and snake bite first aid kits. Water is available here. This reconstructed building was once The Campania Scouts and guides, hall.

Luke was a great host. Great place to stay. Based ourselves at Luke’s place while we visited Hobart, Richmond, Port Arthur and surrounding areas. Large level grassy paddock, lots of space for our 19’ caravan and vehicle to set up. Very quiet and private. Plus thanks kids for the yummy eggs. Enjoyed our stay.

With kids
My two kids and I stayed for three nights in the tent area. Fern Grove.
It was bliss!
Such a generous and private space.
The location is perfect for exploring the Freycinet area. It’s about 10 mins from Coles Bay and Friendly Beaches, about had an hour from Dolphin Sands, Swansea and Bicheno.
The campsite was quiet, practical, and well maintained, with plenty of bird life and a fire pit for appropriate days.
Taj is a great communicator. Clear directions and policies.
Will not hesitate to book again.

We loved our stay at Nick's Nook! Our site was huge, plenty of space for the kids to run around and play. There were several sites being used while we stayed, but it still felt very private.

I absolutely loved our four nights here. The views are maybe even nicer than captured, there is heaps of space between sites.
Richmond town is a few minutes drive so if you dont have cooking gear, no worries, all the amenities are close by, theres a toilet onsite and it is super peaceful.

We totally enjoyed our stay on Lyn and Stuart’s peaceful spot near Clifton Beach. We weren’t expecting the fine comfort of a deck, comfortable rustic shed and outdoor shower. The short walk to the fabulous beach was a high point of our trip. And so convenient to Hobart for the start of our adventure really set us up right. Thanks for your warm hospitality, birds and little potaroo. We certainly hope to revisit this spot soon!

Maria Island is a must-see destination in Tasmania in our opinion, it offers a unique blend of natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and fascinating convict history. We went twice, 1st we hired bikes and rode over 24klms. 2nd we did the cruise.
We are in Tassie for the long haul on a one way ticket so had plenty of time to work in with the island and tassie weather. Choose to go on a good sunny day though is the key. If your time permits.
Ferry at Triabunna is right on the water foreshore and super easy.
I would allow the whole day and pack food to sustain you but not way you down weight wise. It is a long day to carry it all around.
