Simply put it's ‘Nature’s Playground’. Sugar Beach Ranch is a special place... a place of relaxation and reflection. We want guests to enjoy the break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Wake up to songs of native birds. Bring your own horse, guitar, or your writing book and loll away the hours nurturing your soul in paradise. All guests have shared access to the 15m resort-style magnesium pool and direct beach access from the property. We are a wildlife sanctuary and an operating farm with horses, chickens, ducks, pigeons and a peacock. There are dogs on the property to protect the chickens and other animals from predators, so please don’t bring any pets of your own. Enjoy Sugar Beach Ranch with your horse, bring them along for the holiday, and plenty of beach and trail rides. Paddock accommodation available. As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive. The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed. Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

Access to water and solar power on site. There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a king single. There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave, cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ. Important information: Linen not provided. In each dome there is a queen and king single bed. All linen needs to be bought with you. Pillows, towels, doona, bed linen & t towel PLEASE NOTE: This is not a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The dome tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this. This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the small dome has a rooftop curtain that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the domes cooler. You are welcome to explore the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the area. We agiste cattle so you do need to close the cattle gates behind you. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. If your car is not suitable for gravel inclines park at the top of the driveway. There is a house on the acreage. During your stay no one will occupy the house. You have exclusive use of the property.

The camp kitchen and sites along the creek are within sight to the main house (50m) and shed home (30m), however if weather permits sites in the paddock for more privacy can be selected. We have old macadamia and pecan trees. Goats, sheep, cows and a miniature pony graze on our paddocks. At times we can offer eggs from our chickens and produce from the garden. The property is located just 5 minutes drive to the town of Nimbin, The perfect place to rest a while, to relax, rejuvenate and let Mother Nature work her charms. Camp amongst the trees, enjoying the dappled sunlight. Go for a walk along the creek and splash around. Our campsite offers good access for all types of vehicles. We area dog friendly. We are professional musicians and love to meeting people. Elphie used to own the iconic Nimbin Rox backpacker hostel, and although Soulhaven is only in its infancy, it still has a relaxed atmosphere. Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops. Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle. This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest. Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We love animals, but one of the reasons we left suburbia was to get away from barking dogs. If your dog barks at night, or is not we’ll socialised, you’re best to leave pooch at home! Our place is family friendly and we ask that you keep music and noise to a minimum after 10pm.

We are secluded and situated on a quiet road with forest screening. We have creek with a swimming hole and sandy beach. We offer several flat, well grassed campgrounds, some with fire pits, suitable for tents, campers vans and caravans up to 22 foot. We offer access to off-grid power. We also offer a series of internal walks & running tracks through the forested parts of the property. In addition, we offer a trained masseur who will massage in his forest studio. We offer arts courses: life drawing, basket making and cyanotyping. We offer night tours to view glow-worms. In August and September fireflies can be seen along our creeklines. We can provide escorted tours of local sights including galleries, natural sights including waterfalls and a local commune.

Weekend Trip to Trickling Waters Retreat

Trickling Waters Glamping was a beautiful secluded spot, filled with all the luxuries you need! Travel directions were clear, the grounds a very well kept. All amenities were clean and functional. Sitting by the creek at the crack of dawn with a coffee watching the mist through the trees was peaceful way to start the morning. My partner, myself and my dog had a lovely time. They have extra blankets of you need, drinkable water a toasty cuppa tea and the tent was delightfully bug proof! Honestly cant think of any downsides to our stay. We plan to come back in summer next!

We loved our stay at Aliki’s beautiful accommodation. Thank you for sharing such a peaceful and beautiful space. It is so clean & fresh. Everything has been provided for comfort. We enjoyed unwinding with serene landscape views, the luxury of the soothing outdoor hot tub and the calming sound of nature was truly wonderful. We can’t wait to visit again, we feel very relaxed and spoilt after our stay.

We had an amazing time at Trickling Waters! Truely private and tucketed away into nature right beside the running creek. Everything you could need was provided making our stay so comfortable! The weather wasn't on our side for our stay but the tent was so cosy that it was never an issue, we just bundled up on the deck and in the tent listening to the rain and creek. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Ballina Beach Nature Resort

We recently stayed in one of the luxury glamping tents at Ballina Beach Nature Resort and had a fantastic experience. The tent was spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned and well equipped, offering the perfect balance between camping and luxury. The resort itself is surrounded by beautiful coastal bushland with easy access to the beach, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway close to nature without sacrificing comfort, I would highly recommend the luxury glamping tents. Would definitely stay again

We had such a great stay! The property is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect place to switch off for the weekend. We loved being able to have a campfire, and it was a lovely surprise that there was plenty of free firewood available. We went for a walk around the property, saw cows and even some kangaroos, which made the experience even more special. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing camping getaway. We’d definitely love to come back!

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek

We loved our glamping experience at Barachi! Such a beautiful private spot & so peaceful listening to the whip birds calling and the creek flowing. The little shack was perfect! It was rustically decorated with pretty fairy lights as well as practical solar lighting. Peter & Tania had really thought of everything & we were pleasantly surprised with the few extra touches and bits and pieces that were available. We are all about having a campfire and we were impressed with the outdoor fire pit area & enjoyed lighting up the pot belly stove. Peter was very helpful & made sure we were able to safely enter & exit the property, given recent rain and quite muddy conditions. Would love to return in a different season to enjoy swimming in the creek & relaxing in the outdoor bath.

Weekend Trip to Rainforest Hideaway

Set up was decent in the RV. Not too much of a view but surrounded by beautiful trees and the road behind is very quiet so not a bother. We arrived late and ended up sitting up next to it to enjoy a cheeseboard under the stars, which was incredible away from the city lights. Kitchen has all the basics you need and shower is nice and hot.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Trickling Waters in a beautiful glamping tent nestled right alongside Commissioners Creek. This is a truly private and tucked-away gem in the Mount Commissioners Creek area of the Mount Warning region, surrounded by lush nature that makes you feel miles from anywhere. The gentle, tranquil sound of the creek was soothing and created the perfect backdrop for unwinding and relaxing after busy days exploring the region. Everything felt peaceful, secluded, and restorative — the perfect spot for a family escape or a quiet recharge in nature.

Weekend Trip to Rainforest Hideaway

My daughter and I had a lovely time at Steve's property. We stayed in the caravan which was really modern and well equipped. Steve was really hospitable making sure to explain everything with the van and added an extra blanket to make sure we didn't get cold. It was fun picking fruit from the variety of trees on the property. It's such a beautiful drive to get there with stunning tree canopies and valley views. The Whian Whian waterfalls are just a few minutes drive away and were magical (I'd recommend bringing gumboots for walking down the muddy track to get to them). After doing things outside during the day we loved laying in bed and watching Netflix on the TV in the van. Highly recommend staying here if you visit the area!

4 nights at Barachi by the Creek

A great rustic cabin, filled with character, bordered by a running creek in a private setting. Peter greeted me at his property and drove me down to the cabin, sharing some of the local history of the property and region And a bag of home grown mandarins. I was provided with a tour of the facilities and left to my own devices - it’s well contained, private and quiet. The fire lit bath worked a treat though in winter, I’d recommend enjoying prior to the sun disappearing. There are candles and some solar powered lights to provide some atmospheric lighting. It can get cool in the evening, so take advantage of the hot water bottles provided. There is a bit of cell reception around the cabin if needed to send text messages but it’s otherwise a great place to switch off, read and chill out.

Stunning place just like the photos. Constant sound of the river which we loved, made for deep and restful sleeps. Fires under starry skies, private and quiet, even gets the afternoon sun in winter. Owner’s friendly and helpful, wood on hand to purchase, we had an axe which was useful for kindling but had forgotten paper, so appreciated them giving us firestarters. Great area to explore, walks etc. loved it!
