We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort. The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system. The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home. Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.) Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property. They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties. This is a camping site and our stays are like camping all heating is wood hot water is gas and lights are solar, No TV no power points no fancy appliances. If you like camping and staying in something unique Artisans Park is the place for you, If you want a luxurious five star stay we are defiantly not the place our stays are basic and clean. 1949 London Bus, WW2 Army Tower, 1885 Trig Hut Artisans Park is located 45 minutes from Bathurst and is the closest city for food and fuel. We do not have local shops or fuel stations. The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views. Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows. The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water. There is a toilet and shower downstairs. The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels. This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured in travel magazines, including on Better Homes and Gardens television in 2013 and in many magazines shoots. No pets please. once again no pets including dogs.

From putting the fire and kettle on before we arrived, to making sure solar batteries were fully charged, or giving a walkie talkie guided tour as we drove in - Robert made sure we were comfortable and settled in. The shack is basic but functional with everything you need to cook up a feed and stay warm after exploring outdoors. It is ‘rustic’ so if spider webs or saw dust are on your no list then maybe book a hotel... The grounds are beautiful, we lost count of the different types of fungi we spotted, and I’ve never seen more wombat holes in my life. The bird song was amazing in the morning, but the best part was the outdoor bath under the stars. A great place that I’m keen to return to some day.

We loved our stay. The place is beautiful and the hot tub is definitely a highlight. You can see how much love Lindsay and Pam put into the place to make it comfortable and cozy. Our dog had a great time in the nature as well! Definitely would recommend this stay for a couple looking for a relaxing weekend!

It’s tranquil, rustic and incredibly comfortable, with a peaceful atmosphere that helped me slow down and reconnect with nature. Everything felt authentic and unpretentious, making it easy to relax from the moment I arrived. Whether I was sitting around, enjoying the surroundings, or simply taking in the quiet, it felt like a genuine tonic for the soul. If you’re looking for luxury, this probably isn’t it. But if you’re after a beautiful, peaceful escape with character and charm, it’s hard to beat. I left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to returning. Weekend Trip to Hedley Hideaways - Thompson's camp

This hut was a great spot for a couple to join in with a group camp for someone that’s not a fan of camping. The hut has cooking facilities, a very comfortable bed, an electric fire as well as air conditioning and a great ensuite out the back with an amazing shower that some 5 star hotels could learn from. Seats on the balcony received a lot of use as well as the shade during the day for the whole group camp to gather under. The only thing to further improve the hut experience would be a bbq out on the verandah but other than, what an amazing stay.

The photos show it exactly as it is. And for us oldies, it was perfect. Everything you love about camping, with absolutely none of the negatives. It's peaceful, picturesque, and serenely private, with the added bonus of having a ready made bed and a flushing toilet. It was, in a nutshell, perfect.

It was one of the decent camping i ever have. All facilities are convenient, nice hosts(includes host’s daughter lol), genuinely clean and neat. I checked in a bit late but still kindly instruct me everything I need to know. Great milk, cave walk, bush walk. Everything was perfectly fit for camping beginner to expert. I would recommend and 100% coming back for exploring more :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Helen & Steve’s Shack last weekend. We were very impressed by The Shack being built against a rock wall face and the artful repurposing of all sorts of materials to create a most interesting and spacious hideaway. We found the leafy outlook lovely and the outdoor patio very relaxing. Our dog thought so too. Thank you, Steve & Helen, for having us at your Shack!

Beautiful landscape with so many cool pagodas, old trees growing out of rocks and in nooks and crannies. No trail markers so be sure to have offline maps (or a physical one!)
