The Hartley Vale Garlic Farm was established in 2018 as an organic garlic farm now owned by James and Michelle and their two children. The farm features a hempcrete building named 'The Stinking Rose' used for drying and curing garlic, that also acts as a big room for garlic feasts during planting (March, April and May each year). The building also houses toilet and shower facilities for guests when camping on site. On some evenings, the sky puts on a real show of golden sun rays with pink, purple and blue clouds while swallows flit across the garden beds catching moths. Our guests like to sit around their campfires watching the spectacular show while kids and dogs run around without the burden of leashes or noise of city traffic.

Also please note that due the closure of the Great Western Highway there is currently an increase in traffic volume going past our property. Our usually quite nights are not as quiet. The campers I have had since this has happened did not seem to be too impacted by it, but if you are wanting complete quietness then maybe wait until the Highway is re-opened.
Our property is located in the Blue Mountains, nestled right in the middle of the national park and all that the Blue Mountains bush has to offer. Gums, ferns, fresh air and swimming holes.
I only allow one group to camp at any one time per site. Other groups will be well away from you. However the dam is available for everyone to use. I adjust each booking with each group depending on size of the group and time of year. I also hold large events so will book out the entire site for large groups.
Just a short drive from Sydney (1 ½ hours from Parramatta) but a world away with its ancient forests and meandering pathways. All photos are from the site or within a 2km walk of the camping site in National Park or reserve. Please note that the canyon photos are from a spot that is very difficult to get to.
I welcome self-contained campers with your own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water. However there are facilities on site for smaller groups at an extra cost.
The property offers a number of sites that can accommodate various group numbers. Please message me if you're interested in booking one or more listings for your special get together.
Dogs are welcome as long as they are friendly, but no cats please. Also please be aware that we are surrounded by nature and part of nature are the snakes and ticks.

Please be aware that due to our proximity to the road and rail that at times you will hear some traffic noise. But most times it is very quiet except for the frogs.

The camp site is close to two creeks, Blackheath Creek and Little Stoney Creek where the protected Platypus are frequently seen, along with our wombats and kangaroos.
Cox’s River is a ten minute drive suitable for swimming and fishing.

There is hot water and an open air shower. A long drop toilet is located nearby. At night the shelter is lit by solar powered lights & the glow of the campfire. The shelter is accessible by 4WD. Dogs are not permitted. Limited firewood is provided.
Firewood can be purchased at $50 for a generous bundle. It is not possible to know how much firewood is required for your stay so during winter please take this into consideration.

We run an 800 acre beef & sheep property situated 9km from Tarana on the Famous Fish River. Our property is a mixture of pasture & bush, with various campsites situated either on the Fish River or secluded bush sites. There are numerous secluded sites and ample room for exploring the scrub, rocks and river. We move the campsites around depending on water levels and the size of the group booking.

The Grass Tree Bush Camp is conveniently located just 2.5km north of Katoomba town center, so you can easily take advantage of all the upper mountain attractions in this amazing ‘World Heritage’-listed area. If we are booked out, we do have a couple of overflow sites (if you can't find anything else) that might suit your rig, so please reach out, and we will see if we can help out.
Currently, we are only open on weekends due to family circumstances. Check-in is after 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon, with a late check-out on a Sunday by 5 pm. Preference will be given to 2-night bookings. If you are desperate for a 1-night booking, please reach out, and we will see what we can do.
If you are planning on having a fire, please do not remove firewood from the surrounding bushland. As you can imagine, if campers did that, the atmosphere of the campground would quickly deteriorate. Please plan to bring some from home, purchase some from the local service stations, or alternatively, we can drop a 22+kg crate of mixed hardwood at your site for $20. If the latter suits, just let me know. However, it is ok to collect a small amount of kindling on site to start your fire.
Fires are restricted to existing fire pits to minimize scars on the ground. If you prefer to bring your own fire pit, we ask that you leave no trace. Fires are only permitted when there are no RFS bans in place. We will communicate directly with you, in advance, if there are any upcoming 'Extreme' or 'Catastrophic' fire day warnings from the RFS. Please be extra vigilant around this as our community is only just recovering after the devastating recent fires. Fires are to be modest and discreet. Out of respect for our neighbors and other campers, please do not use a chainsaw at the campground. Please do not leave rubbish in your fire pit. Things like cigarette butts, cans, beer caps, and food scraps need to be taken with you. We pride ourselves on keeping the sites as pristine as possible and ask that you follow our 'leave no trace' policy.
Note: There is no water on the property, so you will need to allow enough time to ensure you have completely extinguished your fire before you depart.

Only use the allocated area as indicated by campsite site colour on site map. The logs at each site define the site area; please do not drive through the grass clearing. Site numbers are on trees. Unless previously discussed, you are required to camp on the site you book and will be asked to move if you set up on another site. All traffic is to drive clockwise around the ring road. The site numbers correspond with this direction of travel.
The campground is tranquil and has a large open, flat grassy clearing in the middle for family games. The secluded clearing is bordered by a Woodland forest with native flora like Waratahs, Xanthorrhoeas (Grass Trees), Orchids and Banksias. The property is home to many beautiful species of fauna like Gang-gang Cockatoos, Eastern Rosellas and the cheeky iconic Magpie, which will warble a warm welcome. The grassy clearing is occasionally frequented by Kangaroos at dawn and dusk.
Just a stone's throw from the property, you have easy access to world-class lookouts and bush walks. If you are into climbing, canyoning, trekking, trail running, cafes, restaurants or walking along breathtaking National Park trails, then you will love visiting our area. If you are unfamiliar with the area, we recommend visiting the Information Centre at Echo Point to get all the information you need for your intended activities.
This camp is perfect for groups/families wanting to have a campfire, a bit of space from other campers, and to have room for the kids to run around and kick a ball.
There is a composting toilet on-site with toilet paper and Hand Sanitizer supplied. When you visit the toilet, after you have finished, please place 1 cup of Sawdust into the toilet after a wee, and 2 cups after a Number Two. This bulkage is a significant element to the success of the composting process. If you use the last of the paper on a toilet roll, the cardboard roll can be thrown into the toilet as well to be composted. If you think anything is not how it should be with the composting Toilet, please reach out, and we will come and take a look.
Well-behaved pets are welcome, and we encourage you to keep your dog on a lead if they are likely to wander too far from your site and disturb the local wildlife or other campers.
If you are interested in a longer free stay and are open to a trade for a small amount of labor each day, please reach out. There are always lots of things we need to get done, but we don't always have the time.

Our family run farm is also home to Speckle Park cattle (some of the prettiest cows you will ever see), horses, ponies, miniature donkeys, pigs, camels, alpacas, llamas, fallow deer, miniature goats, guinea pigs and bunnies - and that’s just the start! In fact, we have more than 24 different types of animals on our farm.

4WD only (clearance of 20cm+ needed). Rocklee is on Wiradjuri land, a short drive from Capertee, surrounded by Gardens of Stone and Capertee national parks and the Mugii Murrum-ban State Conservation Area.
Rocklee is 2.5 hours from Sydney and Dubbo, and a short drive to swimming at Turon and Coorongooba National Parks, sightseeing at Glen Davis, bird watching near Glen Alice and the terrific cafe ‘From the Paddock’.
Access is 4wd only. (We’re serious!)
Our road has ‘roll overs’, rocks and a couple of tight turns on large gradients so you need a vehicle with 20cm+ clearance.
If you are towing a camper trailer, you need a good 4wd engine to get back up the hill confidently.
Each campsite is a VERY long way from other sites - usually about 800m.
Rocklee has a mix of no-longer used paddocks and about 950 acres of untouched bush.
You will arrive through the conservation area, which has beautiful pagodas and endless bushwalks.
Rocklee is a good site for star gazing.
Hipcampers can choose from plenty of space where they'd like to set up camp.
Please be careful as some paddocks are overgrown, fences have come down and there are lots of wombat holes, so drive slowly and be careful.
There are no amenities here, campers need to be self contained and leave no trace. This means you need to bring water, use existing fireplaces and take your rubbish, recycling and compost with you.

Come and camp on 100 acres in the centre of the Capertee valley with some fantastic hilltop views of the valley’s landscape. It's an open site with great views all around from the top of the hill or set up down by a dam.
There are some cattle and other livestock on the property for a farm experience or just enjoy the peace and quiet. Historic towns of Rylstone, Kandos and Glen Davis all just a short drive.
You can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet all day and then watch the mountains as the sun sets.
There are no amenities here, campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace.

We were lucky to be the only ones there. Great place to base yourself to do a few things in the area. Fire pits provided were great.
Rubbish bin provided which was awesome. Close to railway line but did not seem to hear too many trains. Slept well. Dog friendly. Fantastic communication by Kurt & Megan.

Our stay at Raglan Ranch exceeded every expectation we had! The location was absolutely stunning, we had complete privacy and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but still only a 10 minute drive in to the CBD.
What really made our trip so memorable though was our hosts Kurt & Megan!! These guys are the most lovely, kind, exceptional people you could ever dream of meeting. Their hospitality was second to none and when we had some issues with our caravan they didn’t hesitate to go out of their way to help in every possible way.
I truely can’t speak highly enough of these beautiful people and I hope we get the chance to visit again soon!

My site was away from ammenities and dump point, and noticed there were a lot of free camps closer to these points. Camp was quiet and when full, would be very crowded and difficult to manoevure large vehicles into allotted spots. Friendly staff and well maintained from what I could see driving to find the dump point.

We have really enjoyed our two nights stay here. Even though it's a residential area you wouldn't even know. It feels like you're on a peaceful farm but only 8km from Bathurst. Kurt and Megan have been so helpful and very responsive to messages. Megan and her son even came to introduce themselves and say hi which was nice ❤️they also have a handful of goats which the kids loved and we could even feed them our scraps.
Highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Bathurst and the surrounds!!!

What a great little flat spot to park up just out of Bathurst. We felt super safe here after reading reviews of other places in town. Kurt met us as we drove in and was really helpful. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed our hike but the trails are definitely more suited for dirt bikes and 4WDs. Vehicles noise means not much wildlife. But if you don’t mind sharing the trail with drivers and climbing very steep rocky paths, it’s very enjoyable. Good hiking boots are a must.
