Wonderland 4WD Bushcamp sits about fifteen minutes outside Maleny, tucked away in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It’s quiet out here. The campsites are spread out and rustic, built for anyone wanting a proper break from town without someone pitching a tent right on top of them. Keep in mind that you are looking at the overall property description right now, not the individual camp details. Every site on this land is different, which means you must read the specific site description for the spot you plan to book because that is where we list the exact track conditions, terrain quirks, and minimum vehicle capabilities required to reach it. Do not submit a booking or special requests until you've checked those vehicle specs against your actual setup. We meet campers at the gate to escort everyone in safely across the property. Because of that hands-on check-in, both The Summit and The Gun Range require a mandatory two-night stay, so please don't message asking for a single-night exception on those two locations. You'll see miniature Galloway cattle wandering the paddocks while you're here. We drive around in the Jeep daily to feed them treats and give them a pat, but otherwise, you won't be bothered by anyone except the local wildlife.

The Summit (High-Clearance 4WD)

100%
(119)
Tent site · Sleeps 4
The Summit sits completely secluded at the highest point of the property, surrounded by tall gum trees with views clear across the valley. In spring and autumn especially, you’ll wake up looking down over a thick blanket of morning clouds. Total privacy. The campsite includes a private bush toilet and a gravity-fed rainwater tank for basic wash-ups or dousing campfires. We set this place up for people who genuinely want to unplug, slow down, and actually enjoy camping. Once you’ve made the scramble up the track and take in the epic views, the whole idea is to just sit back, crack a cold beer, and soak it all in. If your plan is to use camp as a crash pad while running back and forth to town all weekend, this spot probably isn't the right fit. Because the access track passes right by our home, we keep gate traffic to a minimum so everyone gets their peace and privacy. Make sure to pack all your food, bring plenty of cold ones for the weekend, and enjoy having the quiet hill all to yourself. Access is strictly for very well set-up 4WDs and drivers who genuinely know what they are doing. This is a punishing mountain climb over jagged rock and slick clay—definitely not for the faint-hearted. You need real low-range off-road experience to tackle this hill, because cruising down a sandy beach in high range does not count as 4wding out here. You are entirely responsible for assessing your rig against the track requirements before heading out. Our cancellation policy cuts off 24 hours before check-in. If you rock up unprepared and can't make the climb, we do not offer on-the-day refunds. When you submit a booking request, you must confirm you have read this full description and provide your vehicle specs: Exact vehicle model Suspension lift height Tyre size and tyre type (AT or MT) Diff lockers (front, rear, both, or none) Working winch fitted (yes or no) Dry Conditions Requirements ● 2" lift minimum paired with 32" all-terrain tires with solid tread depth. ● Rear diff locker or limited-slip differential (LSD). Recovery: ● Working winch strongly recommended. Wet Conditions Requirements ● 2" lift minimum paired with 33" mud-terrain tires with deep tread. ● Twin lockers, or at least a rear locker if you are prepared to winch. ● Operational winch mandatory—do not tear up our access tracks trying to bounce an unequipped rig through the mud. Camp Rules and Logistics Arrive together in daylight. Air down your tires (25psi max) before tackling the ascent. We do not permit trailers under any circumstances, nor can you leave spare cars parked down at the bottom gate. There is a strict two-night minimum stay across all bookings, with no single-night exceptions. Keep an eye on the Elaman Creek (4552) forecast leading up to your arrival date, and drown your fire until it is cold to the touch before leaving—a $100 fine applies if embers are left hot where cattle might step on them.

Gun Range (High-Clearance 4WD)

The Gun Range offers a completely secluded bush camp wrapped in towering gum trees, featuring westerly views across the valley. It is a self-sufficient site with zero amenities aside from a massive central firepit. Total privacy out in the scrub. Access is strictly for very well set-up 4WDs and drivers who genuinely know what they are doing.
