Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
This beautiful 98 acre property has 300m of river frontage on the Wallamba River. This is a lovely, shady, quiet and private space right on the river. You can watch the fish jump and the bird songs are so beautiful. There are no other camping sites near this space. We are just over an hour from Newcastle and Port Macquarie. Grab a kayak and enjoy being right on the river. Great fishing!! You will catch Bream, Flathead and Mud Crabs! You may also see the dolphins go past. We are 30 mins from Forster and Taree. The Nabiac Hotel is 10kms down the road and the village of Nabiac has all the essentials. We love our animals and along with our horses, we breed Therapy dogs. Your dogs are most welcome! Our property is at the end of a 2km gravel driveway. You can camp right on the river's edge in privacy. The kids are welcome to help feed the animals. The area is quite shady, and there is a decent down to the site on the river. You will need to swing wide to get into the entrance of the driveway and Van's over 18ft and with low clearance aren't recommended, due to the slope down to the river and the turn around area.The site is set right on the river's edge! This is a great spot to pull up overnight or a few days. Nice and secluded. Right next to the river. It’s a great spot at sunset and if you’re lucky you get to meet Kerri walking the Labrador puppies.

Really nice spot on the riverside, the owners were really lovely and friendly, made sure we comfy and had everything we needed, really dog friendly place, they have kayaks the explore the river which was a great time, not far at all from Nabiac if you need or forgot anything, all round top spot to relax (side note you do need a portable toilet Cheap as chips from Bunnings, and really easy to use and get rid of waste )

This is an excellent, peaceful site on the Wallamba River. It is a little dusty on the area where you would place a camper/van. The hosts are caring and helpful. A little warning however if you intend to stay for a week or more. The site is shady amongst tall trees. There are not many hours in the day when you get direct sunlight on solar panels. Add a couple of days or so of overcast weather, you may have a problem. Even with a large battery and above average solar panels, we had to ration power after a few days. If you you intend to stay for a few days and have adequate battery and and solar you should be OK. Notwithstanding the sunlight issue, it is still a very pleasant location. It is useful that it is a short drive to Nabiac to the dump point and council suppled water tap for refills. If you use a bladder it is all very convenient.

We had a very relaxing week here. Nabiac is a short drive away for supplies, water and a dump spot. The camp site is private and has gorgeous views of the river. We just sat and watched the ducks, and had a few chats with the horses. The site is reasonably level and has dappled shade from trees, a short steepish drive down from the main property. Easy to navigate in a 4WD. As the only site on the property, there are no crowding issues. Hosts Kerri and Eamonn live close by but up the hill. They were very welcoming and helpful with referrals to things we needed. Fire pit available, and firewood can be supplied for $15/bag. If you are intending to run on solar power only, the lovely trees mean it takes some attention to move a solar blanket around to chase the sun. I would make sure you have gas or charcoal for cooking.

We had a fabulous stay at Riverdance! The campsite during the day has a stunning view of the river and the perfect amount of autumn sun for sitting and watching the local sea eagle catch a fish (I would imagine you would have lovely cool shade in summer as well) and at night it was so peaceful sitting and enjoying the campfire. Perfectly located to Nabiac for the farmers market and local cafes or to the lovely Krambach Pub for lunch but engaging with Kerri’s farm animals including baby goats, mini horses, horses, puppies and the lovely Tilly is every bit as much fun. Thank you for having us Kerri and Eammon we had a lovely stay!

We had a great week at Tranquil Riverdance! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the peaceful sounds of the river and the breathtaking natural beauty of the surrounding area. Bird watchers take note….. plenty to see along the river from a family of pelicans to an eagle fishing and rare black cockatoos. The campsite is immaculately maintained, with spots for either tent or caravan. Only off-road vans due to a steep entry/exit. Whether you want to spend your days kayaking on the river or simply enjoying the serenity of nature, this place offers a perfect balance. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend Tranquil Riverdance for anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature!

Absolutely schmick spot. So quiet and peaceful. We had visitors from a couple of extremely friendly puppies, our boy Harvey (labradoodle) loved playing with them. Private even though home up on hill, honestly felt like we were on our own. We will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Riverdance. Kerri was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Perfect private campsite right on the river and we enjoyed kayaking fishing and swimming in the river. The view from the camp site is superb and we loved cooking dinner over the fire watching the stars and waking up to the sound of birds. This camp is perfect if you love the offgrid life and enjoy a private camp but still want to be close to all that the Barrington Coast has to offer. We still headed into the beaches each day and checked out the local area. It's is truly the best of both worlds. Kerri allowed us to use to pool and they provide kayaks if you don't have your own. The property is dog friendly and our pup enjoyed all the off leash time and visits from the very well mannered pups who share their home. The camp site itself is super shady and we got a beautiful afternoon breeze, so even in the warm January weather it was super comfortable. If your using solar power just be aware you will need to move your panels around during the day to catch the best sun. We really had such a wonderful time and will definitely be back again! Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us.

Beautiful shaded site right on the banks of the Wallamba river with fish jumping. Kerri very welcoming and instructions / directions were very clear. Fire ring for night to star gaze and enjoy the peace.

Wonderful stay at Riverdance. The view was stunning and NYE was fun! Fishing was excellent and kayaking was a great way to explore the area, with calm waters. The hosts were very friendly, puppies very cute, dogs very polite and, overall, a perfect spot for a relaxing and adventurous getaway!

It was super easy to find, and had a beautiful view! We stayed here just for the night before we went further north, and it was the perfect place to do so! There was also a beautiful very friendly black Labrador that my dog made friends with. Thanks Kerri, it was great!

Lovely site right on the river. River access is a short walk from the site. The site is very close to the Hosts home. We were also allowed to swim in the pool. We had an enjoyable stay and our pooch loved being allowed off-leash

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Tranquil Riverdance near Nabiac , the river as the name states “Tranquil “ , this was our first trip away in our caravan and had a very relaxing time, great beaches and lakes within an easy drive and enjoyed Nabiac a friendly wee town. Host Kerrie and Eamon were friendly and offered any assistance we may require

The campsite was had plenty of room under the trees to spread out and was right on the river, can fish straight from the site and put a kayak in the river a bit further down from the site. Had visits from there friendly Labrador, Kerri was a great host.

Really great spot! We only had one night on our way to QLD but next time will stay longer. Right on the river, beautiful. Tons of birds including nesting Sea Eagles. Fished, cooked over the fire. Had the place to ourselves. Very relaxing. Friendly hosts who made sure we had everything needed.

What an amazing place to stay, Kerri and Eamon were so accommodating and helpful. The site is right on the river and the fishing is great. The property is so peaceful and Nabiac town is just up the road. We really loved our stay and will be back for sure, one of the best spots we have stayed.

Riverdance was amazing! We camped there for 7 days, right on the river bank with our furbabies. Kerri and Eamon are amazing hosts, there to make sure everything is OK, but otherwise leave you alone to enjoy their beautiful camp site. We were able to launch our tinny from a nearby boat ramp (Nabiac) and made the most of being only 35 minutes upstream from the beautiful Wallis Lake and fishing under the gorgeous Tuncurry/Forster bridge. Kerri's dogs are super friendly and would often come down and say hello to our dogs, which they all loved. This Hipcamp is a total gem and we will certainly be back for our next camping trip.

Great place to stay. Had the river all to ourselves the whole weekend. If you have a bigger boat you can put it in at Nabaic and run the 6 minutes down river and tie up to the pontoon for the weekend. About a 20 minute run to Forster for fish and chips too. Dogs were friendly and up for a pat in the morning and night, did have to feed them or pick up after them either, perfect dogs. Quiet location with plenty of wildlife around. Great place to relax and unwind.

Absolute River Frontage

Great little spot 10 mins from Nabiac, in an ancient land, well secluded on a beautiful absolute river frontage. Fish at your feet, or use the available kayaks to explore. Boat ramp 6 mins way by water, 10 mins by car, and an old barge to tie off at when your not using the boat, we left it in the water the whole 4 days. Plenty of free Kindling and Fire Wood for sale. We met Dan and Karen, friends of the owners staying at the big house and solved the problems of the world over Whiskey and Wine. Perfect getaway less than 2 hours from Newcastle. 5 Stars.
