The Ultimate Off-Grid River Frontier: Gold, Cod, and Campfires ​Ditch the crowded holiday parks and bring the family to a place where "getting away from it all" actually means it. We’re offering 6 acres of raw, absolute river frontage on the Dumaresq River. This isn't a manicured lawn—it’s a rugged, private wilderness where your only neighbors are the kangaroos and the stars. ​If you have a self-contained caravan or a sturdy tent setup, this is your playground. No houses, no streetlights, and no sirens—just the river and the bush. ​Adventure for the Whole Family ​Strike it Rich: This isn't just a gimmick; people are still finding gold in the riverbed. Grab a pan, teach the kids how to read the ripples, and spend the afternoon hunting for "color." ​The Big Catch: The Dumaresq is legendary for its fishing. Whether you’re a pro or it’s the kids' first time wetting a line, there is plenty of action under the surface. ​Off-Grid Living: This is the perfect spot to teach the kids some bushcraft. With no Wi-Fi to distract them, they’ll be busy spotting platypus and building the perfect campfire. ​The Midnight Gallery: Because we are kilometers from the nearest house, the light pollution is zero. This River side Campsite is a flat grassy space on the banks of the river, perfect for swimming and fishing. Guests will enjoy use of the 5 acres along the river to themselves, but please note there may be another group visible a 100m up river. This site is named Cod Cove, after the monster Cod that was caught and released right at this spot.

We stayed at stones throw for 2 nights. Excellent spot! A beautiful outlook, there was some firewood pre chopped and stacked, and the whole site was mown and tidied. We walked down the river to fish and caught 3 cod in a single afternoon. 10/10!

What a fantastic spot! Riverfront views and fire pit with wood provided. We are normally up and out early but we were enjoying the peacefulness that we took our time getting up and going. Even had another fish in the morning.

Had a greats stay at Stones Throw. The site was great, clean, had plenty of shade and coverage from the road and a great view of the river. The hosts were amazing and very helpful for the trip, I will be going back.
