Neal Homestead Camp
5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents50 acres · Brookville, PAThe stone cabin is my grandfather's homestead foundation. There was a two story house on it. He remembers his mother scrubbing the board walk to the outhouse every Saturday until the boards were white. Now the composting toilet is inside the cabin. Cornerstones of the old barn is in the field above the cabin. The soil is very rocky and Grandpa said they " lived on elderberries and groundhog". There is 50 acres with a pink marked trail to Red Bank Creek and back up through a hemlock forest. A small stream runs through the property and forms a rocky delta in Red Bank Creek. I love the rocks on the property huge and small. Hike, enjoy the sound of the stream tickling through property, stargaze, or rest and relaxation in a hammock. There is one along the little stream and one at Outdoor Adventure Camp Site.

Blue Moon Rising on Deep Creek
14 sites · LodgingMc Henry, MDOur Green Team is dedicated to cultivating economic, environmental, and social sustainability. In 2008, Blue Moon Risings’ visionary & founder Lisa M. Jan had the unique vision to integrate vacation rental properties and sustainable construction practices and techniques. Throughout the construction of our facility, we made decisions with the earth and its resources first, so we believe we have created a one-of-a-kind vacation experience while leaving as little impact on our natural landscape as possible.A cornerstone of BMR is that nothing goes to waste. Each and every tree that was removed was carefully evaluated so that could be reused elsewhere on the project. Whether as trim, a support post, or simply as wood to fuel the highly efficient masonry stove, these trees have been given a new life in the fabric of BMR. The dirt removed during excavating foundations was carefully sifted and mixed with clay, water, and lime to become the natural plaster coatings on interior and exterior straw bale walls on our flagship building, “The Leap”.With construction complete, we continue to apply earth 1st principals to the day to day operations of Blue Moon Rising. The hallmark of Blue Moon Rising, the guiding principle in its every aspect, is to demonstrate that comfort and beauty need not be (and will not be) sacrificed for humans to live lightly on this, our only planet. today.

24 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents20 acres · Mt. Storm, WVAbrams Creek is like camping in a nature preserve, rather than in a commercial campground.  On our campground, there are no generators, loud electronics, or other things that would distract from appreciating the sights and sounds of this pristine natural environment.   And this is always a great place to beat the heat! Rendezvous Farm
5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents16 acres · Basye, VAThis raw forested land bordering George Washington National Forest on two sides was purchased in 2002. Over the next six years a 2 acre pasture and .8 acre house site were cleared on weekends, a small pond was dug, additional land was cleared and a wildlife planting made, then our home and multiple outbuildings were constructed.  We began raising chickens for meat and eggs, as well as rabbits, quail, doves and pigeons, and developed two vegetable and fruit gardens to provide food for ourselves and to sell at farmer's markets. The property is a state certified Wildlife Partners Habitat because of the many improvements made for wildlife. Allen and Peggy were married atop a special rock on the property in 2004.
