Take your pick from Waterloo camping options on picturesque farms and near hip cities.
Located just 30 minutes west of Madison and an hour east of Milwaukee, Waterloo offers a basecamp for visiting Wisconsin’s biggest cities, but that doesn’t mean nature is hard to find. Lakes and forests beckon. Travel through time and woodlands while exploring Native American mounds at Garman Nature Preserve and then set out on hiking and biking trails across the region, including those in the Kettle Moraine State Forest. RV and tent campsites, cozy cabins, and unique glamping getaways in the surrounding area are situated on family farms and orchards with rolling hills. Or, find a public campground at one of many nearby county parks and state parks. Venture to Devil’s Lake State Park for epic bluffs overlooking a sapphire lake, or find even more expansive waters at Lake Kegonsa State Park, which has a 3,200-acre lake as a focal point. The recreation menu changes with the season.
