Dude's Off Grid Camp
4 sites · RVs, Tents2 acres · FLWe recently purchased this beautiful property from Matt and Rachel so please bear with us while we work on making changes to this page. The campsites will be as they are listed. I’m very excited about sharing some of this with you. This off the grid property has been in building stages since 2018 and features multiple solar systems. There are three tent camping spaces, and one RV space. All guests have access to our shared bath house with large open air shower and flush toilet. This property is not super large at 2ac but we rarely book more than a couple sites at a time so it's rarely crowded and whichever spot you choose you have access to the other spots to walk to the pond if unoccupied. Only site 2 and 3 has pond views. But at all our sites you will be under trees, and mostly shaded. Our property is primarily 21/up. We do have a dog and two cats living here with us. Dogs are not allowed but we are willing to talk to you about your pet and to see if it could be OK. Our animals are family. It is their home and I want them always to feel safe. Thank you for understanding. We would also limit the length of stay to five days unless we talk and make a different agreement.

Wildflower Pond
5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents5 acres · Alachua, FLWelcome to a sweet and soulful little piece of the woodlands. Tucked in on 4.5 acres, this spot is a secluded, enchanting piece of old Florida. Pitch a tent in one of our four designated camping sites, tie a hammock, wet a line and see if you can pull in our trophy bass, "Pub Sub," or relax on the embankment. Check out what's growing in the seasonal garden and if you’d like to to visit our horses, cows, KuneKune pigs, dairy goats, rabbits, birds and local mascot, Nacho the Donkey, please book a private tour with us. Florida's gem-colored, healing spring waters are just a 20 minutes up the way and local retreat centers and yoga studios dot the area. Gator fans? Head into Gainesville for a game and to visit the University of Florida. Mostly, enjoy. We look forward to hosting you! To note for all guests: We suggest arriving before dark so as to make set up easy and comfortable. We do not require a formal check-in and encourage being self-reliable in set up of primitive campsites. (For something with more structure and a space already set up, check out our Aframe cabin.) We do have water, a composting toilet, sink, and groundtemp shower for your use and ease.

Suwannee River Glamping
3 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents6 acres · White Springs, FLIn 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water. The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach. We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

If you're in town for an event, come and go day or night. Historically, Cozy Freedom was occupied by the Timucuan Indians who hunted the forest and swamp land. North of Jacksonville, Fernandina Beach nearly dips into Georgia—but Florida isn’t finished quite yet. Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Amelia River, this Nassau County city sits on Amelia Island. Due to this unique location, Fernandina Beach presents campers with Northeast Florida’s top trails, golf courses, and vistas. Trailblazers will love exploring Florida’s wildlife while on a nature tour of Egan’s Creek Greenway Trail. Meanwhile, group campers near Main Beach Park can have fun in the sun with a game of beach volleyball. Campsites on Fernandina Beach offer a taste of island life, right along the East Coast.

Where to Go

Fort Clinch State Park

For proof that Fernandina Beach does it all, Fort Clinch State Park clinches the deal. As a well-preserved Civil War fort, Fort Clinch contains galleries, beaches, and trails. The fort is simultaneously a park, so in between all of those cannons, tortoises may make an appearance. Incredible views are a common amenity across Fort Clinch campsites, which can accommodate RV, cabin, and tent campers—as well as campers seeking a bungalow, boat, or yurt.

Amelia Island State Park

Head south of Fernandina Beach, and you’ll encounter Amelia Island’s namesake park As one of the Talbot Island State Parks, Amelia Island State Park covers roughly 200 acres of beaches, marshes, and forests. Given this all-encompassing scenery, campers can enjoy a slew of activities. Think: swimming, kayaking, sunbathing, and fishing. If you really love the latter, make sure to stop by George Crady Bridge Fishing Pier State Park to cast your rod with the locals.

Talbot Island

Just below Fernandina Beach—and Amelia Island, for that matter—Talbot Island yet again merges landscapes. Less than 30 minutes south of your Fernandina Beach campsite, you’ll leave one island and enter another. Enjoy a picnic, swim, or hike at Big Talbot Island State Park. Just south of the park, the wetlands of Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve beg for a slow morning spent birdwatching and admiring Florida’s marshes.

When to Go

Fernandina Beach camping thrives when the beaches are at their best. As is the case for most of Florida, optimal beach camping means a winter getaway. Florida summers get unbearably hot and bug-ridden. All campers can agree—nature is enjoyed best when the nights are cool and the mosquitoes sparse.
