Jacaranda Hill Farm

Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush.
There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property.
Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :)
Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter.
Dog friendly. Campfires are permitted in designated areas with the host's approval (depending on fire restrictions).
We are closed over the summer period due to increased fire risk.

We have a beautiful and secluded site to offer, right on the banks of the Murray River and deep in the heart of the Dwellingup State Forest.
All bookings here are exclusive, so whatever pass-time you choose will be the sole theme of your stay.
An excellent and inspiring spot for artists, with a hundred views worth capturing in any form from charcoal thru oil, to digital. Many wonderfully tranquil places to sit and ponder, draw, write, and wonder. Truely 'En plein air'
Amazing birdwatching here, with highly populated tree lines and shrubby areas surrounding and throughout the property.
Superb Star gazing opportunities too, with wide open and un-interrupted views of the night sky in every direction, from various vantage points available around this lovely 40 acres of beautiful river front property.
Nanga River Retreat is an outdoor adventurer's dream, with truly wild forest country to be found between the property and the river in many places. 🌲 The heart of the last real Jarrah-forest is right here for you to explore, with canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking all great ways to spend your time here.
In fact, if youre into bikes, you'll be happy to know there's quite a few things around town to amuse you. Firstly, it's only 10 minutes to a great local skate park and pump track, one that lures riders of bikes n boards alike of every skill level and from all around. Its a family friendly arena and boasts a really good playground right there on site for the little ones (and right next to Way Points Cafe for the not so little...). A bit further out is the Turner Hill bike track, and of course from town there is local access to the world famous MundaBiddi trail. Also, and much closer to home, is the Murray Valley Trails Mountain-Bike Area, and as the crow flies its only around 2kms away. Western Australia's newest and best mountain bike trail area, with 35kms of single-track MTB trails, varying from Easy rolls around Lane Poole Reserve, to Difficult and fast black diamond downhill runs for those brave souls who dare it. If bikes are not your thing, or for anyone that just wants to tap into their inner primate, Trees Adventures Dwellingup is only a short drive over the hill (just 5.5kms from the gate) and is an incredible day out with the kids. Actually its an incredible day out for anyone with the rightly mixed senses of adventure and humour. This is a blast, its much more fun than it might sound like, and we highly recommend it!
Dwellingup is known as 'The place that trails meet', and there is local access to a seemingly endless selection of walk paths, bridle trails, and bike tracks of every description.
There's plenty an orienteering challenge that also awaits, 🧭 this is a perfect part of the scarp for those wandering souls who enjoy getting lost in order to find their way...
We love all animals here at Nanga River Retreat and we'd love for you (by pre-arrangement please) to bring yours along. We enjoy an abundance of wildlife traffic through the property, and even have quite the zoo ourselves, with chickens and ducks, pigs and sometimes sheep to be found around the place. A couple of cats, some fish, all sorts... (dont forget to bring your little yellow bags please guys)
We would love to see all the Witches, Wiccans, and various other Weirdos out there come on down, and we encourage you to book in for a spell. (pun intended) You'll fit right in. 🧙♀️
We invite discreet devotees of herbs, mushrooms, and all things magical to visit for a while, you will absolutely love it here, with privacy you just cannot get at the park 🤙
So beautiful people, come and find yourself, or maybe lose yourself, down by the river in Dwellingup, forget Camp Granada, (yes, we're that old...) forest getaways dont get much better than this one.
So, social drinkers, social smokers, and all deep thinkers are definitely welcome, and when you get here, we can either mingle and chat, or your time and space can be your very own, that's entirely up to you,
BUT!
We dont want 'The Party People' here. Sorry. We dont need you to act Amish, within reason you can drink smoke sing celebrate, have your tunes, whatever, but this is the wrong venue for running amok.
Loud drunkenness, anti-social behaviour, and rude misconduct will lead to eviction without refund, and reporting to Hipcamp.
Also, and sorry about this one too folks, but no ripping around out here on anything with an engine. No off-roading. No motor bikes, quads, buggies, or any other form of self-powered transport in the dirt. In-fact while you're here, any sort of hooning on the property will lead to eviction without refund and reporting to Hipcamp.
However all you mad mud mashers out there, for those that do want to go somewhere and get tractionally challenged, you'll only be a short drive from the famous Captain Fawcett 4x4 track, (about 1/4 hour away), and we are sure that down there you can get all the off-roading you want to, right out of your system! Check it out online. And of course there's hundreds of bush tracks all around here.
So folks, the idea of this campsite and indeed of the entire property, is that it's intended as a tranquil and quiet retreat for those that wish it to be so. This is how we want it too, and this atmosphere of a quiet getaway must be observed by all comers please. Thanks for understanding.
A small advice for those bringing children, in fact for anyone that intends to swim in or be beside the water, this is a wild and unfenced river access area and all care should be taken in supervision. Please see the site rules.
One more thing, feel free to contact us via Hipcamp if you're interested in staying here but for some reason fall outside of the site parameters listed on this add. You might have a late arriver that needs to bring a third vehicle, your bus might be 1/2 a metre longer than the sites drop box allows for, or maybe you dont own a telly and have 7 kids you need to bring?
Whatever it is, dont sweat it. Get in touch and run it by us, we're pretty flexible and in most cases will be willing to accommodate your needs. And remember, this is camping by the river, not glamping by the pool!

pss: there is a second site available here if you'd rather be further from the river. We dont bother to advertise it and it's a long way from the loo, so more suited to those that have their own dunny of some sort. (No short drops here please guys💩 yuk) The 2nd site is near a natural soak at the top of a dam and boasts a delightful looking and beautifully aromatic spread of native mint. You and yours will always be the only group here, this site is just an alternate place for you to set up camp if you want to. Stratham House

There is plenty to do nearby. It's a 5min drive to the 4WD access beach, and only 25 min to Busselton, 45min to Dunsborough, and 1 hour to Margaret River. The local winery is the Furgason River then you have the world-class wineries in Margaret River.
This is a peaceful location, for nature lovers, and we love it that way. We have an array of wildlife, including many bird species. It is not a place for noisy groups or parties. We also ask that you kindly respect our noise curfew of 9 pm. And whilst we welcome your four-legged friends, we ask that you observe our rules around this (kept on lead, limit barking, and must be cleaned up after).
There is access to a toilet in the main residence via a private entrance through the laundry (you do not need to go through the house).
Please note, the entrance does have a 90-degree turn as soon as you enter, so maybe a bit tricky to maneuver for larger vans. If you have any concerns, please check with me before booking.

Haddlestone Farm

Boyup Brook is just down the road with a sporting club, pool, museum, great little shops, and a local IGA.
There is Trigwell Reserve and Haddleston Springs on our doorstep, so many walk trails and things to explore. Harvey Dickson rodeo and the Boyup Brook country music festival is a great drawcard every year.
We offer two options to enjoy this beautiful place: A camping area, and a cottage.
Plenty of room to set up camp in the camping area of the proeprty, so choose when you get here. Sit around a campfire (restrictions for fire season, of course) watch a gorgeous sunset, and enjoy a BBQ with a drink in hand.
No toilet for campers, so you'll need to be self-sufficient with your own camp toilet and take all waste with you when you leave.
The cottage is cute and rustic, and has everything you need for a comfortable farm stay.
Close walking distance to our dam to cool off with beautiful views of the surrounding farm and bushland. The Blackwood River is also very close to our place. At Trigwell Bridge you have access to the riverside which is great for canoeing through to Boyup Brook.
Dogs are welcome (campsite only, not the cottage) but please keep them on leash at all times.
Drinking water is available on request and firewood is provided for free.

There are many attractions a very short drive from camp, including the popular Beerfarm Brewery (5 minutes drive), caves to discover, some of the South West's most beautiful beaches, and we're surrounded by wineries and vineyards.
You'll enjoy watching the kangaroos and emus popping in and out of the bush, whilst the curious Blue Wrens and Scarlett Robins will flutter in and say hello. And the sunsets and views over the surrounding paddocks are hard to beat.
There are no facilities, so all campers must be self-contained with their own camp toilet, and take all waste when they go. This is non-negotiable.
Our base rate covers up to 4 people, but only 1 vehicle. If there are two couples traveling with two caravans (for example) they will need to make two bookings.

Blackwood Ridge Nature Park

the neighbouring Peninsula House have historical significance in Bridgetown.
The Roebank Cottage was built in 1890 by the grand-daughter of John Septimus Roe who was a famous civil engineer contributing to the original town planning of Perth City and Roebourne.
In the early days, Roebank was used for livestock grazing and had the largest shearing shed this side of Bridgetown used by the neighbouring farmers. Over the years the property has been used as a pear orchard, goat farm and other small farming activities.
Today the property operates as a family hobby farm with short-stay accommodation along the river residences and nature park sites on the high points offering scenic views of the valley.
