We are closed from 1 Dec through to 31 March due to High Fire Risk. Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush. There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property. Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :) Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter. Dog friendly. Campfires are permitted in designated areas with the host's approval (depending on fire restrictions). We are closed over the summer period due to increased fire risk.

So folks, the idea of this campsite and indeed of the entire property, is that it's intended as a tranquil and quiet retreat for those that wish it to be so. Thanks for understanding. A small advice for those bringing children, in fact for anyone that intends to swim in or be beside the water, this is a wild and unfenced river access area and all care should be taken in supervision. We live on a picturesque 400 acre property, high in the Darling Range an hour north of Perth. The property overlooks Lake Chittering with sweeping views to the horizon. The native bush here is typical of the Darling Ranges, featuring Jarrah, Marri, Wandoo, Xanthorea and Banksia. Fed by the mighty Brockman river, the pretty Chittering Lake is almost completely obscured by vegetation. The lake features lots of birdlife including swans, wood ducks, spoonbills and wedgetail eagles. The Chittering valley has much to offer including scenic walks and local cellar doors. Pinegrove is a small property of 107 acres nestled in the forest away from traffic and suburbia, 14 kilometers off the Brookton Highway. We run Merino sheep and have pure bred Border Collies for sheep work and dog trialing, which is Ivan's sport . It's a natural bush block with cleared areas. We welcome campers and people wanting to park their caravan or RV. Campfires are permitted (except when fire bans are on). Free firewood to collect. We ask that campers do not use the bush as a toilet please, this is not acceptable and please do not empty caravan toilets on any part of our property please. There is a toilet in the shed at the Homestead or please bring a portable toilet, We do have to limit the use of the toilet if our water supply runs low as we depend on rainwater for all our needs. We appreciate campers to be self contained if possible. Well behaved dogs are welcome, they should be on a lead if coming anywhere near the sheep or Homestead please. There are no swimming spots at our place, there is a pool in town which is 30 minutes away. There is plenty to see and do in the area such as Boyagin Rock you can climb, we are only 30 minutes from Brookton, 40 minutes from Beverley and about 45 minutes from York. This was the perfect 2 night getaway in our camper trailer to rest and recharge. We stayed on site 2 which was flat, shady and pre-raked ready for our arrival. Although we couldn't have a campfire due to the time of year fire restrictions, this site would be perfect for when open fires are allowed. The sites are distanced far enough apart that you still have privacy.

We had a flying visit to this great spot so only for one evening. The site was fantastic, with fire pit, stools, table and chairs. However could not do a review without commenting on Donna and Micheal’s hospitality. These guys simply could not do enough for us. If you get a chance to stop here you should. Will be back for sure.

I loved caravaning at Hill Tree Farm. It is a beautiful property with (environmentally) friendly hosts, undulating hills, trees and much birdlife. I had the best night's sleep there as it's so quiet and the campsites are far apart. We will definitely return.

Helps getting out when the bank is wet, dont forget to chuck it in the water before you jump in. We suggest you have a look where the logs and branches are under water before you get in and the water gets muddied.

Lots of space for my daughter to ride around the paddock, took a lovely bike ride to town, and on a recommendation from Donna found the raw larder which was a little gem. The spot was perfect and clean and the frogs sung such a symphony as we sat reading by the fire, drinking wine. However, I did not do my research, as Nanga Bush Camp is across the road! Teenagers screaming karaoke from 6 till 10. But I feel like we were unlucky with that. Otherwise, highly recommend!

1 night at Jacaranda Hill Farm

Me and my partner stayed at the Honeymoons site and originally booked 2 nights but extended to a 3rd night. It’s a beautiful private spot up on the hillside, well away from others. The track in was pretty easy. We have an RTT with small trailer but anyone with basic 4WD skills could tow a small to medium maybe even large caravan in no worries. It’s pretty close to Mandurah for a day trip or for the long term travelers to get some stuff done. Hosts are really down to earth genuine people. Seen emus, Roos, red tail blacks. Highly recommend.

What a lovely place to stay with such hospitable hosts. It's so serene and quiet yet close to town to grab things then you need. Donna gave us some great local recommendations and Millie the Kelpie was friendly and loved a belly rub. We would stay again if in the area. The site was pretty flat. Enough sun for solar recovery and they even laid a fire and wood out for us. Thank you guys. We fit our 21.6ft van in no problems.
