2 nights at Sandalwood Downs Farm Stay Toodyay

We loved our stay in our campervan at Sandalwood Downs, a beautiful farm with the most friendly and varied bunch of animals you can imagine. It is true, the camels do love a selfie! Our site was, like all the sites, obviously chosen to provide privacy, and peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed the walks around the farm, and nearby Toodyay is a wonderful Australian country town.

Weekend Trip to Sandalwood Downs Farm Stay Toodyay

My son and I stayed in our tent at site 2 which is the closest site to the toilets, shower, playground and fire pit, perfect location. Jane and Marc were interesting to talk to and I found them really very friendly and welcoming. The playground closes for use at 6pm which makes sense for it was getting dark at that time. Some other kids were on the playground after that time and Jane had to come down and told them to get off. I don't understand why some parents can't tell their own kids to get off the playground at the correct time. It was hard for my 7 year old when I told him he had to be off the playground at 6pm and the other kids were still playing on it for another 20 minutes. We loved meeting all the animals in the animal feeding in the morning that Jane and Marc guided us on. The animals are very friendly and it was a wonderful experience. It was at 9.30am and cost $15 per person extra. Well worth every cent. The views of Sandalwood Downs Farm are stunning and I'm looking forward to staying there again sometime. Thanks Jane and Marc for letting us stay at your property and for being so nice.

Enjoyed our stay here, camp sites were private and well set apart, great views and enjoyed the sound of nature from up the hill. The kids enjoyed the animals and was worth travelling for… Personally I prefer a campfire at my site during winter months to cook on (with self supplied briquettes/wood), especially as some of the sites are far away from the communal area. However, I also understand the risks that it carries to owners. Thank you for a great stay.

Fantastic spot and really close to Perth. This was my first Hipcamp stay and Tracey was really helpful and made the experience smooth. The sunset was stunning and we were lucky enough to get a very still, clear evening. A few of the ‘tree top campout’ spaces are a bit slope-y in places but small wheel ramps will work if you care about level vehicles. There are definitely flat sites in that space too so don’t stress.

1 night at Lakeside Parkway Camping

We only had one night on this property but wished it was longer. Close to Mandurah but felt like we were in the bush. Power and water available and John had even prepared a huge campfire ready for us to enjoy after a long day on the road. Don’t miss the amazing Lake Clifton thrombolites just 5 minutes away or a beer at the nearby brewery. Highly recommend this Hipcamp.

What an amazing place to camp! We stayed at goat mountain and were greeted by the cutest neighbours. The camp ground practically speaking was well set out, providing ample room to suit almost any set up you want on mostly flat ground. The tour was unbelievable, the ability to get up close and personal with all the different animals on the farm and hear the passion and information from Marc and Jane about the animals and the location was a treat. Before we even left we told our friends that we are adding this place high on the return later this year trips!! Loved every things about this place too many cute animals to decide which one was our favourite.

1 night at Everything Horses Ltd

I celebrated my 25th Birthday with a one-night stay at Everything Horses Hilltop Haven, and it was everything I hoped for—peaceful, heartfelt, and memorable. Sleeping near the horses in the paddock was a magical experience. They were calm, gentle, and it felt grounding just being near them. Watching the sunset over the eucalyptus filled skyline was a highlight—quiet, beautiful, and serene. What truly made the stay special was our host, Dayle. He was incredibly warm and genuine, a real salt-of-the-earth kind of person. He even let us use some leftover firewood from the last guests—which was the only kind gesture he offered :) You can tell he truly cares. The location is great—an easy trip from Perth and right in the heart of the Swan Valley. We visited the House of Honey the next morning which topped off the trip perfectly. Only minor downside: a few planes passed overhead in the evening, briefly interrupting the bushland quiet, but it didn’t take away from the overall charm. Highly recommend!

I had a lovely stay at Rose’s Reserve. The site is peaceful and quiet and gave the opportunity to spend some time in nature, so was a great break from the city. I took the option of buying some farm fresh eggs too for my breakfast which was a treat. The hosts keep it clean and neat and were very welcoming.

As with all properties in Toodyay you will be able to hear the train passing by. Also we are a small farm with farm animals and as such there is animal noise. Nanga River Retreat is an outdoor adventurer's dream, with truly wild forest country to be found between the property and the river in many places. 🌲 The heart of the last real Jarrah-forest is right here for you to explore, with canoeing, kayaking, swimming, fishing, hiking, and biking all great ways to spend your time here. for anyone that just wants to tap into their inner primate, Trees Adventures Dwellingup is only a short drive over the hill (just 5.5kms from the gate) and is an incredible day out with the kids. Actually its an incredible day out for anyone with the rightly mixed senses of adventure and humour. This is a blast, its much more fun than it might sound like, and we highly recommend it! Dwellingup is known as 'The place that trails meet', and there is local access to a seemingly endless selection of walk paths, bridle trails, and bike tracks of every description. We love all animals here at Nanga River Retreat and we'd love for you (by pre-arrangement please) to bring yours along. We enjoy an abundance of wildlife traffic through the property, and even have quite the zoo ourselves, with chickens and ducks, pigs and sometimes sheep to be found around the place. A couple of cats, some fish, all sorts... (dont forget to bring your little yellow bags please guys) We would love to see all the Witches, Wiccans, and various other Weirdos out there come on down, and we encourage you to book in for a spell. (pun intended) You'll fit right in. 🧙‍♀️ We invite discreet devotees of herbs, mushrooms, and all things magical to visit for a while, you will absolutely love it here, with privacy you just cannot get at the park 🤙 come and find yourself, or maybe lose yourself, down by the river in Dwellingup, forget Camp Granada, (yes, we're that old...) forest getaways dont get much better than this one. So, social drinkers, social smokers, and all deep thinkers are welcome, and when you get here, your time and space can be your very own, BUT! We dont want 'The Party People' here. Sorry. We dont need you to act Amish, within reason you can drink smoke sing celebrate, have your tunes, whatever, but this is the wrong venue for running amok. Loud drunkenness, anti-social behaviour, and rude misconduct will lead to eviction without refund, and reporting to Hipcamp. Also, and sorry, but no off-roading. No motor bikes, quads, buggies, or any other form of self-powered transport in the dirt. In-fact while you're here, any sort of hooning on the property will lead to eviction without refund and reporting to Hipcamp. However for those that do want to go somewhere and get tractionally challenged, you'll only be a short drive from the famous Captain Fawcett 4x4 track! Check it out online. And of course there's hundreds of bush tracks all around here. So folks, the idea of this campsite and indeed of the entire property, is that it's intended as a tranquil and quiet retreat for those that wish it to be so. This is how we want it too, and this atmosphere of a quiet getaway must be observed by all comers please. Thanks for understanding. A small advice for those bringing children, in fact for anyone that intends to swim in or be beside the water, this is a wild and unfenced river access area and all care should be taken in supervision. Please see the site rules. One more thing, feel free to contact us via Hipcamp if you're interested in staying here but for some reason fall outside of the site parameters listed on this add. You might have a late arriver that needs to bring a third vehicle, your bus might be 1/2 a metre longer than the sites drop box allows for, or maybe you dont own a telly and have 7 kids you need to bring? Harmony Retreat

Just 1 hour from Perth, Harmony Retreat is situated on 25 acres at the foothills of the Darling Range Escarpment just 10-15 minutes from Pinjarra and Dwellingup, 7 minutes from the southwest highway, and 3 minutes from Pinjarra-Williams Road. It's an easily accessible and picturesque private property with approximately 7 acres of forest, flushing toilet, hot outdoor shower, a winter creek, a swimmable spring-fed dam, and an abundance of bird and wildlife, nestled between cattle farms in the heart of the Peel region. There are friendly free-ranging chickens, a mischievous mini pig named Peppa (who loves pats), sheep, and a family dog on site. The owners Michelle, Troy, and Carolyne live and work onsite (this is a working farm). THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BOOK IF YOU INTEND TO PARTY. The camping area is easily accessed by most vehicles. There is a hot water outdoor shower and toilet available to use and within walking distance of each site. The dam on the property is currently unfenced and has steep sides when the water line is low, therefore this property is not recommended for those with small and wandering children. Older children will need to be supervised. Friendly dogs are welcome, however, must be kept on a leash at all times. There are no cooking facilities available for guests at present (this could change in the next couple of months as Troy is notorious for making stuff happen lol... so when it does we'll update the information). Therefore you will need to be completely self-sufficient including washing up bucket, cooker, kettle, esky, etc, and also bringing your own drinking water as the water from the taps comes from our spring-fed dam. We do ask that you follow local fire regulations with no outdoor open flames during fire bans. All rubbish and waste needs to be taken with you. However, Peppa the Pig will always appreciate your veggie scraps. Fires are permitted in designated fire pits during fire season. Anyone found having a fire during FIRE BANS will be reported to authorities and asked to leave the property immediately (we need to use firm words around this, as bushfire destroys homes and endangers lives). We are closed from 1 Dec through to 31 March due to High Fire Risk. Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush. There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property. Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :) Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter. Dog friendly. Campfires are permitted in designated areas with the host's approval (depending on fire restrictions). We are closed over the summer period due to increased fire risk.

It would be devastating if this dreadful bug should come this far. We appreciate your co-operation. Pinegrove is a small property of 107 acres nestled in the forest away from traffic and suburbia, 14 kilometers off the Brookton Highway. We run Merino sheep and have pure bred Border Collies for sheep work and dog trialing, which is Ivan's sport . It's a natural bush block with cleared areas. We welcome campers and people wanting to park their caravan or RV. Campfires are permitted (except when fire bans are on). Free firewood to collect. We ask that campers do not use the bush as a toilet please, this is not acceptable and please do not empty caravan toilets on any part of our property please. There is a toilet in the shed at the Homestead or please bring a portable toilet, We do have to limit the use of the toilet if our water supply runs low as we depend on rainwater for all our needs. We appreciate campers to be self contained if possible. Well behaved dogs are welcome, they should be on a lead if coming anywhere near the sheep or Homestead please. There are no swimming spots at our place, there is a pool in town which is 30 minutes away. There is plenty to see and do in the area such as Boyagin Rock you can climb, we are only 30 minutes from Brookton, 40 minutes from Beverley and about 45 minutes from York. You are also welcome to watch host Ivan training the sheepdogs!

There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. Keane was a prominent figure in the development of Western Australia, having constructed over 800km of rail around W.A. The property runs alongside the discontinued railway line, known as the Kep Track / Golden pipeline trail, which is part of the same railway network as the Bibbulmun track. The old winery building was saved by R and A Poulton, after a demolition order was places on it by the Northam shire in 2002. The property is now heritage listed, and the fight to preserve it from main-roads continues. Come along to our Karaoke nights at the Restaurant. Our camping set-up is a work in progress, so we would appreciate your suggestions and feedback, we now have a cold shower on site. When things dry out we will be able to do more work on the accessibility. Children are welcome, but make sure you are prepared to look after them. This is not a place to let then go feral. This is a working farm and has all the dangers that go with that. Please appreciate our home, as we are opening it up for you to enjoy as much as we do. From plants, rocks and old equipment, you may not be aware of its significance, so please be respectful and dont damage our home.
