Welcome to Home and Hound Kendenup, a haven of tranquility in the heart of the Great Southern region of WA. Established in late 2021 by a Perth couple seeking a lifestyle change, our farmstay echoes the charm of its predecessor, the beloved 'Big Bird and Wolf Chalets,' which delighted guests since 2001.

Remaining true to its dog-friendly roots, Home and Hound offers three enchanting chalet options, preserving the welcoming spirit that made it a favorite.

Our 30-acre property, just 8km from Kendenup township and 15km from Mt Barker, boasts dog exercise areas, an ornamental lake, and breathtaking views of the Stirling Ranges from the hilltop.

As stewards of sustainability, we take pride in our eco-friendly practices. Rainwater sustains the entire property, and our commitment to reducing waste includes recycling single-use plastics as seedling trays in our large greenhouse.

Embracing renewable energy, we utilize solar power while the sun is out, while wood fires, sourced from our own trees, provide warmth in winter.

Our flourishing fruit trees and indoor vegetable garden yield seasonal delights, and our resident chickens not only enjoy food scraps but also gift us with farm-fresh eggs.

Bollygum Dell

Bollygum Dell is a hidden little pocket with a rich natural and cultural heritage situated at the foothills of the ancient Porongurup Range just 40 minutes north of Albany Western Australia. It is also a working farm featuring passive animal handling, sustainability and regenerative farming practices. Conservation, sustainability, biosecurity and ecosystem recovery is our focus. If you are a fully self-contained traveler and looking for an exclusive nature experience then we welcome you. 2WD access. Come, be seduced by the swirling mountain mists, the mysterious freshwater lagoon and surrounding wetland or the unique biodiversity of this hotspot within a hotspot.There is plenty of reasons to linger longer in Mountain Country including a visit to the Porongurup Range National Park, the Stirling Range National Park, Twin Creeks Conservation Reserve, as well as checking out the many wineries, bars & cafes.Sorry, no pets (biosecurity requirements). Please ensure your vehicles & boots are free of mud to prevent the spread of Dieback. Campfire's and open-flame cookers are not permitted.

Huge old Marri trees (Corymbia calophylla) provide shade while you enjoy your view to Twin Peaks in the Porongurup Range.

Bollygum Dell Farm sits between the 1.2 billion year old Porongurup Range and the botanical wonderland of the Stirling Range.

The mists swirl as a storm approaches over the Porongurup Range. The Borong Gurup, as it was known to the Noongar people, was home to their totem spirits, the mists signaling their presence. It was their temple, a most sacred place and still is today.

Gloria Dieu Apricot Farm and Cellar

Come and experience warm farm hospitality! We are a working farm, offering fresh apricots from our orchard seasonally, our own commercially processed dried fruit products and fresh grass fed lamb and pasture raised chicken directly to consumers at our farm shop, and off course local coffee. Price includes complementary coffee, scones and a tasting session of all our premium products on the first morning for up to 4 people. All the tame farm animals (sheep and chickens) make this a full farm experience.

Price covers up to 4 guests. Campers must be self contained!

We are conveniently located 15km from Mt Barker, 43km from Denmark and within a 20km radius of various wineries, including West Cape Howe, Plantagenet wines, Windrush, to name a few.

There are no amenities here, campers must be self contained and leave no trace.

Stunning Rockcliffe Vineyard

The Rockcliffe vineyard was originally an apple orchard. In 1990, the first vines were planted, and in 2007 we built a "State of the Art winery", which is located on the property. Rocklicffe is now the biggest winery in the region.

We sell wines all over the world and in Australia. We focus on producing small batches of high-quality wines, all of which can be tasted at the Rockcliffe Cellar Door. 

We welcome self-contained travelers to come and stay for 1, 2 or 3 nights maximum. You can choose to book one of our newly levelled bays where you will be amongst the vines, or you can park your van or pitch your tent in the paddock opposite the cellar door during summer when it is dry. It is important you have your own toilet, as we do not offer facilities here.

The place is very quiet, being in a rural setting, but only 4km from Denmark town. If you are a cyclist this is an ideal place to stay. We have a mountain biking track that goes around the vines, paddocks, and through the forests, all of which are part of the beautiful Rockcliffe property.

The camping areas are a very short walk to the cellar door where you can taste all of our delicious wines or treat the kids to Gelato and Fudge. We offer Cheese & Meat Platters daily as well as Pizza's for lunch on Saturday and Sundays.

Eddies Beach Farm, Forest Hill

Come alone or bring your group to camp on our 95 acres of peace and quiet, on our off-grid property in Forest Hill.  Campers must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet.  We only accept one booking at a time, so you're guaranteed privacy and plenty of space. 

Note: There is no actual beach at Eddies Beach.

Campers must be self-contained and leave no trace.  The nearest dump point is the Tourist Information Centre on Albany Hwy, Mt Barker 19km away. 

Groups of up to 6 families (people who know each other) can be accommodated at any one time. As you are the only ones camping, you're welcome to make a bit of noise (music, generators etc). 

The rate is $32 for up to two adults, per night, $16 per extra adult per night, and any accompanying children (under 18) are free.  ​Note: Please still add children to the booking, you will not be charged, but it's important we know numbers. Whilst the Hipcamp website considers children as anyone under 13 years of age, we consider them as anyone under 18, and are happy for you to create the booking accordingly. 

Campfires are permitted in the designated area only, provided conditions are suitable and there are no local fire bans. Firewood can be provided. 

Whilst any time is good for camping, we recommend trying to time your trip with the New Moon and Full Moon - the skies here are brilliant at night! Marvel at the Milky Way from your hammock, or see the countryside lit up at night by the full moon. 

Well-behaved, trained, socialised and fully vaccinated pets are welcome too.  

Telstra and Optus work in most areas.  We have free WIFI. 

We are located 19km from Mt Barker, surrounded by local wineries, including West Cape Howe, Poachers Ridge, Arcadia and Gilberts. The property makes a great base camp for day trips to Denmark, Albany, Mt Barker, Stirling Ranges and the Porongurup Ranges.

Meanwhile back at the ranch: Barista coffee and tea are available by arrangement. Saturday nights BYO drinks happy hour from 6pm on the back patio. Wood fired pizzas available by arrangement with 24 hours notice. Contact host for information.

IMPORTANT: NO FIREARMS.  NO SWIMMING IN DAMS. Be mindful, this is a working property. No entry to sheds without prior approval from management. The dams and streams are unfenced, care should be exercised around these areas especially with small children.

Amateur radio operators welcome, low QRM. Throw up a wire and see how you go.

For those campers who need extra sleeping arrangements for friends or family who wish to join your camp and don't have the ability to camp, we may be able to offer a solution. Speak to us directly when making the booking.

We look forward to welcoming you. The property is new for camping and under continual improvement, so we would love your feedback.  We are not a commercial campground.

We have two (2) pet enclosures that measure approx. 1.8 x 4 mt, half enclosed with video surveillance so you can keep an eye on your pet from your phone while you enjoy the wineries, mountain climbing, national parks or just a day out by yourselves. The pet owner is required to provide bedding, water and food for the pet in the enclosure.

Rocky's Retreat

Welcome to Rocky's Retreat! Our little hobby farm is 28 acres with views to the Porongurup Mountain Range. Tucked away in quiet Takalarup, we are surrounded by nature, in particular - amazing bird life! Kangaroos are often seen jumping through the paddocks on dusk. The sunsets from the campsite over the Porongurup Ranges are a great way to finish each day at Rocky's Retreat. Meet our friendly resident sheep - pellets available to feed them, and they love pats!

We only accept one booking at a time to allow our guests  privacy and plenty of space.

Well-behaved, socialised, on-lead pets are welcome too.

We are located approx. 40km from Mt Barker, 50km from Albany, 15km to Porongurup National Park and 45km to Stirling Range National Park. Within a short drive you can find incredible local wineries, cafes and restaurants. The property makes a great base camp for day trips to Denmark, Albany, Mt Barker, Stirling Ranges and the Porongurup Ranges. If you are wanting to cool off at the campsite, a swimming spot on the upper Kalgan River is 800 metres down the road. 

Campers must be self-contained, with their own in-built camp toilet, and leave no trace. Dump points are available in Mt Barker and Albany. Telstra works in most areas. We don't take bookings for tents/swags by themselves at this stage.
