We had a really lovely and peaceful time camping on Wayne's property. He is strict but fair, really friendly and easy to communicate with. We loved the tour around the farm that he took us on and we admire what he is trying to achieve conservation wise. Having the Kalgan river less than a 10 min walk down the drive way is an extra bonus. Bird varieties galore. Highly recommended for a nature connection, camping location and experience. Thank you Wayne, we'll be back.

Weekend Trip to Home and Hound Kendenup
Bluff Knoll house far exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful house with Two bedrooms, a family room with an large sized smart tv, reverse cycle air conditioned. Kept the accomodation nice and snug and warm as it was a bit cold when we visited. Well equipped kitchen with tea, coffee sugar and Milo provided. There is a Phillips coffee pod machine with pods provided. Fridge had freshly laid eggs which tasted wonderful. Washing machine in the laundry, BBQ outside in the patio. Fully fenced so our Daschi could roam free. The goats were extremely friendly and looked forward to being fed. Truly a home away from home. You can spend days there without carrying anything but food supplies. Thank you Kylee and Kieran (not sure if I have your name right)

Wayne was a wonderful host - sharing local tips and recommendations, sharing his gardens produce and providing tours to learn about his property and commitment to creating ecosystems. Lovely protected camping space on grassed area, falling asleep to the sounds of frogs and waking to birds. Travelling in peak season, this was a great location for quiet and relaxation - 20 minutes out of Albany. We used Wayne's location as a base to explore Denmark, Albany and surrounding national parks. We walked into our country chalet and immediately felt relaxed. The host has done an excellent job of decorating the chalet, paying attention to detail. The main bed was very comfy and extra pillows, blankets and throw rugs available for extra warmth. Bed comes with electric blanket but not needed this time of year. Would be a lovely winters stay with the indoor fireplace. The farm animals were very friendly and eager to meet guests. Host provided food to feed the farm animals. Host is always around working the farm so available to guests if they need anything. Stirling house had fully enclosed fence that even our little Lahsa Apso dog couldn’t escape. Dog bowls, beds and toys provided. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for having us

The Rockcliffe vineyard was originally an apple orchard. In 1990, the first vines were planted, and in 2007 we built a "State of the Art winery", which is located on the property. Rockcliffe is now the biggest winery in the region. We sell wines all over the world and in Australia. We focus on producing small batches of high-quality wines, all of which can be tasted at the Rockcliffe Cellar Door. We welcome self-contained travelers to come and stay for 1, 2 or 3 nights maximum. On booking your site, you will be amongst the vines on one of our levelled bays which are allocated on a first come basis. It is important you have your own toilet, as we do not offer facilities here outside of our cellar door hours. Overflow camping is also available in the paddock across from the winery, suitable over summer when it is dry and we are running our summer music events over the weekend. The camping areas are a very short walk to the cellar door where you can taste all of our delicious wines or treat your children to Gelato and Fudge. We also offer Cheese Platters, Pizza's and Fries. *This property has 70 acres of lush Karri forest with the original old logging trails from approximately 100 years ago, which make for beautiful nature walks. The track through the forest to the main campsite is about 3.5m wide, it can get a little slippery so caution is needed, a 4WD is recommended if towing a camper or caravan during the winter months. 2WD is ok in summer months. There is one transportable long drop toilet near site 1. There is a fire pit for cooking but other from that you have to be self sufficient. There is access to drinking water up at the house. If the campsite is unavailable or you don't won't to drive through the forest, you are welcome to set up camp on the green pastures with great views but there are NO amenities there and you would have to be completely self-contained. Welcome to Rocky's Retreat! Our little hobby farm is 28 acres with views to the Porongurup Mountain Range. Tucked away in quiet Takalarup, we are surrounded by nature, in particular - amazing bird life! Kangaroos are often seen jumping through the paddocks on dusk. The sunsets from the campsite over the Porongurup Ranges are a great way to finish each day at Rocky's Retreat. Meet our friendly resident sheep - pellets available to feed them, and they love pats! We only accept one booking at a time to allow our guests privacy and plenty of space. Well-behaved, socialised, on-lead pets are welcome too. We are located approx. 40km from Mt Barker, 50km from Albany, 15km to Porongurup National Park and 45km to Stirling Range National Park. Within a short drive you can find incredible local wineries, cafes and restaurants. The property makes a great base camp for day trips to Denmark, Albany, Mt Barker, Stirling Ranges and the Porongurup Ranges. If you are wanting to cool off at the campsite, a swimming spot on the upper Kalgan River is 800 metres down the road. Please note - we have recently undertaken significant native revegetation around the camp site, planting approx. 6,000 native seedlings for native flora and fauna habitat. Therefore, the site looks different to some of the previous photos showing open paddocks. Please refer to the photo in our listing taken in Summer that shows the native revegatation with tree guards around each seedling. Campers must be self-contained, with their own in-built camp toilet, and leave no trace. Dump points are available in Mt Barker and Albany. Telstra works in most areas.
