The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, 1km, with hill side views on the other. All campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace.
Site One is a large flat area close to the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far.
Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space.
All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck.
All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site.
In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues.
We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a
short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them.
Amazing, abundant
and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths, king parrots, and many, many other birds call this place home. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

We are a 1hr 15mins drive from Melbourne, though Summerhill Vineyard will have you feeling a world away. The Yarra Valley offers quality local food and wine, breathtaking scenery, walks, cycling tracks, and tourist destinations like Healesville Sanctuary, Lotus Water Gardens, Warburton Rail Trail and much more. Or.....you can chill out and just enjoy the serenity and views from your campsite.
My family live on the property, close to 1/2km from the campsite, far enough away for your complete privacy, or close enough if you need us!

Due to an over demand we require weekend stays during the Summer months November to March to be a minimum two night stay. Guests are required to check in on Fridays, with Friday and Saturday nights as the two night minimum.
Weekends during this period need to be booked by contacting hosts who will open the sites on the calendar on request to allow the booking to be done online. Those guests requiring a longer stay that overlap a weekend can also be accommodated. Just give us a call and we will find a spot for you.

Looking for a peaceful and secluded spot to park up whilst exploring the Yarra Valley winery region, the Dandenong Ranges, or some of Melbourne's close regional towns like Healesville, Yarra Glen and Warburton?
We have opened up a beautiful flat expanse at the rear of our five acre property and made it available to self contained campers and caravaners. We are travelers ourselves and often find it difficult to find peaceful yet secure spots that allow us to explore capital cities and the lovely areas around them.
Most cities tend to have caravan parks in the outer suburbs and these can often resemble concrete jungles and be very busy leaving you feel like you have to pay a top premium to be cramped into a space. But what options do you have if you want to explore a vibrant city like Melbourne. See a show, do some shopping, eat out at some of the World's greatest restaurants. Yes, we all should splurge every now and then even when on the road.
Our property lies at the very start of the Yarra Valley. It is surrounded on three sides by the magnificent Helens Hill vineyard. In the Summer months you can watch the fruit come onto the vines and in the Winter the views open up to see the kangaroos bouncing though the rows and often silhouetted against the skyline sunsets.
We are less than 5 minutes to Lilydale town center. Supermarkets, restaurants, service centers, parts stores, hardware are all on the doorstep, yet looking out over the vines you wouldn't know.
Lilydale is 38 kms from Melbourne CBD and there is a train station with ample day parking making it super easy to explore the heart of Melbourne and return 'home' to your country retreat for the night. Myki cards available on site FOC.
There is a dump point only 3kms away at a local caravan park for those that need it and at our property water can be available to fill your tanks if needed for a small donation. There is no water or power connection on the sites but you can release your grey water to nourish the grass. Lilydale has a large laundromat available to you.
We have a beautiful covered eating area with BBQ available so if the weather turns inclement you can still eat out yet under cover.
All campers must be 100% self contained. These are remote sites with no connections and there are no toilet facilities available.
We have restricted our area to a maximum of 6 sites to ensure that everyone has their space. Sites are not marked and locations will be on a first booked basis. Owners will direct you to your areas. The area is beautifully flat and does absorb water well but care must be taken to not tear it up after heavy rains. Please seek assistance from owners rather than tearing up the grass as a tractor is available.
We can cater for large sized vans and even large motorhomes. Tents are welcome. The property is pet friendly but not fully fenced so your furry friends would need to be on lead. We have our own dogs on the property.
Hipcamp being USA based describes the sites and vehicles in USA terms and lengths. There is no way to alter this but please be aware. We cater for Aussie sized caravans and 4wd vehicles. 14 or 15m long all up, no problem. Just in a 4x4 with roof top tent and awning, we have you covered. Cruising the country in a Commodore with a pop top, all good here.
Please be aware that we do share a boundary with a working vineyard and they do occasionally have a tractor or crew out in the vines doing some work. There can be a bit of farm machinery work every now and then but this is beyond our control and generally very minimal as vines dont take much looking after unless its harvest night.

We have space in the large carpark for vans, motorhomes, or alternatively the horse paddock for tents and campers. Ample toilets available. Dogs permitted by advance request.
Guests are welcome to visit the Tea Room, open 10am – 5pm Wednesday through Sunday. Our daily menu contains a selection of delicious cakes, devonshire tea, toasted sandwiches, specialty pies and weekly specials and of course, tea and coffee. Breakfast is served all day.

We are 10 minutes from Yarra Glen which has all your basic needs and we are surrounded by a number of award winning wineries with excellent food and wine options and beautiful gardens to explore.
We are close to the Toolangi State Forest which is a beautiful natural area with plenty of different walking tracks and waterfall viewing options.
There are also some popular 4WD tracks in the area too or you might like to take a drive up the Black Spur and enjoy the winding roads and lovely scenery.
Campers must have their own camping toilet and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campfires are not allowed during fire season and pets, whilst on leash, are welcome. Limited DRINKING water is available, as we are reliant upon tank water.
Note that, for access purposes, only one caravan per site is allowed, and units over 6 meters will require an advanced level of expertise to maneuver for exit.

Our empty and unused dairy has space available out the front for up to 3, fully self contained vans (no tents)
Located on the edge of the picturesque town of Buln Buln postcode 3821 (not Moe) take in views of rolling green hills and heritage listed oak trees while the gentle cattle and sheep graze nearby paddocks.
We have access to power and river water on all three sites (not suitable for drinking) but no toilet so your vehicle must be fully self contained.
One site is a drive through concrete slab, the other two are grassed sites. The grassed sites are next to each other and the slab site is on the opposite site of the driveway.
There is a free public dump point available at Neerim South (a 10 minute drive north)
10 minutes drive to the larger township of Warragul.
Firewood and eggs from our happy free range hens can be provided for an additional fee. (Please note our hens are currently moulting so we have none available, so sorry!) Please only use the provided fire pits and no fires are allowed on total fire ban days.
There is no access to the main house or paddocks unless accompanied by the property host.
There is some traffic noise during the day but the nights are peaceful.
Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they remain on leads at all times.
Each site is limited to one vehicle and van or single campervan. Should you have a larger group and want to bring additional vehicles please book an additional site.

Castella River Farm is an 8 acre property with many natural features including Mountain Ash/Manna gum trees and bushland near the camp site.
The Yea river runs behind the property and camping area.
Locally we are close to all the Yarra Valley and Kinglake Ranges have to offer from wineries to the National Parks for hiking.
We are 10 minutes from Kinglake township and 15 mins to Yarra Glen, which means a quick trip if you need supplies. The highway is close by which makes it handy to get out and about.
Wildlife we have seen on the property includes Wallabies, Echidna, and an abundance of bird life. Laugh with the Kookaburras at sunset.
Dogs are welcome however due to wildlife and the bush location, we ask that you please keep them on a lead. If you are planning on bringing a dog with you, please let us know in advance.
We also have horses who may visit you depending which paddock they are in at the time.
NB: **We do have neighbors and the highway near by so there will be some noise and you will see houses depending which way you look.
Would suit campers who want to kick the footy, wade in the river and maybe go 4wding or out and about fishing. Ok to play your own music near the camp fire as long as it isn't loud to upset our neighbors!

Pur property is 1 hour away from Melbourne. It has dorper sheep that are more than happy to share some bread pr have a pat. With outstanding views of Mt piper and broadfords township spreading over the valley. Come have a unique experience and see what broadford can offer.
The sheep have free roam of the property so they may come sunrise you at night so make sure gates are shut behind you. Any questions feel free to ask away

We are dog friendly. There is a toilet available. Good access for 2WD and caravans. Drinking water available.

There are lots of attractions nearby, including top class wineries and restaurants, the Warburton walking trail, fantastic mountain bike trails, the Redwood Forest, Kirth Kiln State Park, Bunyip State Park, Mt Donna Buang and the lookout, Ship Rock Falls, 7-acre Rock, Noojee Pub, Cunninghams Pub, Wesburn Pub and Wesburn RSL.

Love it! This place is great. Sharelle and Michael are very friendly and helpful. My van is bit heavy and stud in mud(after a raining night and very wet on arass. hence | parked at a sliaht slot make it harder to get out). Shower and toilet are handy for pople need to use, around 100m from camp but don’t complaint as this it part of the joys.
Feeding highland cows and pony are such a bonus! Kids love it. Please respect the land and owner, keep it tidy and clean so next camper could enjoy the same fun!

What a stunning getaway, an hour from home.
From the minute we drove through the gates and saw that view, we were greeted by a friendly face, you made us feel so welcome, it was like a home away from home. The stress of even normal suburban life seemed to leave both our bodies in an instant.
An hour later we were siting around the campfire with views out over the dam and jetty to the mountains in the background, over arched by a breathtaking sunset of orange and pink.
Thankyou for allowing us the opportunity to experience a taste of your everyday it made my wife’s birthday, can’t wait to come back with the grandkids

Beautiful property. All the little details made this a 5 star hipcamp. The hammocks, fairy lights, firepits, benches, kids swings and games, immaculate toilet, outdoor shower. Very impressive. Sites are flat and have amazing views. Very peaceful and sharelle was a welcoming friendly host. The highland cows are adorable and the kids loved feeding them and the chickens and pony and getting cuddles from the baby chick's.

We had a fantastic stay at Galea Ranch! It's in the perfect location for exploring Marysville, the Cathedral Ranges, and the many beautiful waterfalls, which were flowing spectacularly after the heavy rain earlier in the week.
The property was immaculate and clearly designed with campers in mind. There were great fire pits, fun play areas for the kids, and our children absolutely loved feeding the Highland cows and the other friendly animals.
Sharelle was wonderful to deal with, making the booking process easy and communicating clearly throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning to explore more of the area

This is our second stay with Rob at Yarra Valley Vineyard Views, and we’re about to lock in another week — that says everything!
This time we chose Site 3, which looks out over a beautifully landscaped pond framed by the surrounding vineyard rows. Even in winter, the magic is absolutely real. Foggy mornings, the vines stripped back to their bones, kangaroos silhouetted against a golden sunset — it’s the kind of scenery that makes you put the phone down. The property itself is a gem. Surrounded on three sides by the magnificent Helen’s Hill vineyard, you feel utterly tucked away from the world, yet only five minutes from everything you need. You can even wander through the vines to visit the winery next door — which we absolutely did, more than once with our fur babies. With the Yarra Valley’s cellar doors, restaurants, and incredible scenery all on the doorstep, this is honestly the perfect base to explore the region.
But the real heart of this place is Rob. He is, without question, one of the most genuinely hospitable hosts you will ever meet. He meets you on arrival, shows you around, and goes out of his way to make sure your stay is everything it should be. Whether it’s local knowledge, a hot tip on where to go, or practical help with your van or setup. His knowledge of caravanning and 4WD is exceptional, and his warmth makes you feel like a welcome guest rather than a booking number. Don’t waste your time looking elsewhere, Book it & book longer than you plan.

It’s a fantastic location with plenty of open space, walking trails, and the river right nearby — perfect for relaxing, exploring, fishing, and enjoying nature. The fenced areas are great for pets, giving them plenty of room to run and enjoy themselves safely. We loved the peaceful surroundings & beautiful scenery. It’s an easy drive from Melbourne and would highly recommend this spot for both experienced campers and first-time campers looking for a relaxing getaway.

Had a great time at Millers farm. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The animals were all so lovely, one thing to be mindful is the turkeys/chickens can be a bit too friendly. The turkeys had a habit of jumping on my car which caused scratches. Just something to be mindful of.

Weekend Trip to Whispering Gums
A beautiful, quiet, and peaceful spot! There was 6 of us in 3 groups, the paddock is quite hilly so if you've got a big group with tents it could be difficult finding flat spots but we managed! The toilet was a portable camping toilet which was great and had its own dedicated outhouse. The shack by the damn was a great addition and perfect for chilling out of the rain. There was even water provided which was great. Huge property to wander, and extra quiet with Sue's house being the only one near by. Sue was wonderful and she's done a great job building a fantastic hipcamp! Thanks Sue :)

Where to go
Healesville
A main Yarra Valley town, Healesville is a hub of food and drink (largely wine!) and a handy base for campers who want to enjoy the restaurants or prepare their own gourmet meals around the campfire. The town is equipped with holiday parks with good facilities and different camping options to suit various budgets. Healesville is a short distance from the Maroondah Reservoir, where there are picnic spots and scenic walks.
Yarra Ranges National Park
The forested Yarra Ranges National Park spreads out around the Yarra Valley towns of Marysville, Healesville, and Warburton. The trees and vegetation here are especially impressive, and are a lovely environment for short walks and hikes. There are campsites throughout this national park but some of these have undergone repairs after storms; if they’re unavailable, there are nearby campsites and holiday parks elsewhere in the Yarra Valley, including Healesville and at other national and regional parks.
Kinglake National Park
A popular spot among hikers, mountain bikers, and campers, the Kinglake National Park is on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range and is easily accessible from the Yarra Valley. Keen and casual bird watchers alike will also enjoy looking out for the colourful bird life in this park, and the tall Masons Falls are especially impressive after rain. The small campsite within the park has space for tents, caravans, and camper vans, and is surrounded by shady eucalyptus trees.
Dandenong Ranges National Park
The Dandenong Ranges are often referred to at the same time as the Yarra Valley, as many day or overnight trippers from Melbourne visit both areas. The cool rainforested mountains are dotted with waterfalls, making this an ideal destination for hiking and picnicking, as well as camping. Campers can find everything from basic tent sites to luxurious cabins in the Dandenong Ranges, and it’s all very accessible from Melbourne.
