Christmas and Boxing Days are available on request only, we will not be accepting any booking for arrival on Christmas or Boxing Days, so that we can have quality family time.
Any guest who would like to book a site to arrive before Christmas Day and depart after Boxing Day please message us via Hip Camp and we can make the site available for your booking.
Guests MUST be fully self-contained and bring their own camping toilet. (No holes in the ground) you will need to have a suitable camp toilet where you are able to take your waste with you on departure.
There is a Dump Point available in Rawson.
Site Toilets can be hired thru Moe Hire (03 5127 7114), they will deliver & pick up from your site.
A fire pit is provided free for the duration of your stay to each camp group.

Nestled in the valley of a thousand hills, Strath Creek Station is your ideal quick getaway, being only a 1 1/2-hour drive from Melbourne CBD. Situated on 90 acres with direct access to the King Parrot Creek, we are dog-friendly and have a large secure dog park for your pooch to exercise and play, but dogs must be on lead in camping areas.
Sites are large and dispersed and can have up to 12 people, tents, camper trailers, caravans and RV suitable. 2wd vehicle accessible (weather dependent).

The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, 1km, with hill side views on the other. All campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace.
Site One is a large flat area close to the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far.
Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space.
All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck.
All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site.
In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues.
We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a
short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them.
Amazing, abundant
and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths, king parrots, and many, many other birds call this place home. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct.

The property has a house for rent (limited times), we can offer caravan, glamping tents, swags and everything for the novice camper or if you have your own van just show up and enjoy the sights.
Fire wood or even a home cooked meal upon arrival for you to enjoy at your site. Or drive in and enjoy your own peace with no interruptions. We only have one booking at a time so you can enjoy all to your self.
There is a stream, it flows all year however more so in winter - fishing is welcome, further - 3 dams with yabbies and fish.
Bike trail for the little tackers learning to ride with family or use the push bikes around the track.
Lots of friendly farm life, highland and Angus cattle, sheep, goats, pony’s and more. Depending on when you stay you may see calf’s and lambs.
Depending on what your after we can provide some farm experiences or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the sights. From the end of the driveway it’s a 6 minute walk to pubs, cafes, shopping and supermarkets.
A private get away not too far from home with all the extra everyone is looking for.
Optional extras can be arranged and set up - 10,000 litre pool, hot tub, camp sites depending on personal requirements, fire wood and more. Tailored camp sites for individuals to come and enjoy hassle free with limited time just up the road from home.

Due to an over demand we require weekend stays during the Summer months November to March to be a minimum two night stay. Guests are required to check in on Fridays, with Friday and Saturday nights as the two night minimum.
Weekends during this period need to be booked by contacting hosts who will open the sites on the calendar on request to allow the booking to be done online. Those guests requiring a longer stay that overlap a weekend can also be accommodated. Just give us a call and we will find a spot for you.
If you are checking dates and a weekend is open, then luck is with you and I have opened the calendar as I'm working on site. If this is the case, single night stays can be booked.

Looking for a peaceful and secluded spot to park up whilst exploring the Yarra Valley winery region, the Dandenong Ranges, or some of Melbourne's close regional towns like Healesville, Yarra Glen and Warburton?
We have opened up a beautiful flat expanse at the rear of our five acre property and made it available to self contained campers and caravaners. We are travelers ourselves and often find it difficult to find peaceful yet secure spots that allow us to explore capital cities and the lovely areas around them.
Most cities tend to have caravan parks in the outer suburbs and these can often resemble concrete jungles and be very busy leaving you feel like you have to pay a top premium to be cramped into a space. But what options do you have if you want to explore a vibrant city like Melbourne. See a show, do some shopping, eat out at some of the World's greatest restaurants. Yes, we all should splurge every now and then even when on the road.
Our property lies at the very start of the Yarra Valley. It is surrounded on three sides by the magnificent Helens Hill vineyard. In the Summer months you can watch the fruit come onto the vines and in the Winter the views open up to see the kangaroos bouncing though the rows and often silhouetted against the skyline sunsets.
We are less than 5 minutes to Lilydale town center. Supermarkets, restaurants, service centers, parts stores, hardware are all on the doorstep, yet looking out over the vines you wouldn't know.
Lilydale is 38 kms from Melbourne CBD and there is a train station with ample day parking making it super easy to explore the heart of Melbourne and return 'home' to your country retreat for the night. Myki cards available on site FOC.
There is a dump point only 3kms away at a local caravan park for those that need it and at our property water can be available to fill your tanks if needed for a small donation. There is no water or power connection on the sites but you can release your grey water to nourish the grass. Lilydale has a large laundromat available to you.
We have a beautiful covered eating area with BBQ available so if the weather turns inclement you can still eat out yet under cover.
All campers must be 100% self contained. These are remote sites with no connections and there are no toilet facilities available.
We have restricted our area to a maximum of 6 sites to ensure that everyone has their space. Sites are not marked and locations will be on a first booked basis. Owners will direct you to your areas. The area is beautifully flat and does absorb water well but care must be taken to not tear it up after heavy rains. Please seek assistance from owners rather than tearing up the grass as a tractor is available.
We can cater for large sized vans and even large motorhomes. Tents are welcome. The property is pet friendly but not fully fenced so your furry friends would need to be on lead. We have our own dogs on the property.
Hipcamp being USA based describes the sites and vehicles in USA terms and lengths. There is no way to alter this but please be aware. We cater for Aussie sized caravans and 4wd vehicles. 14 or 15m long all up, no problem. Just in a 4x4 with roof top tent and awning, we have you covered. Cruising the country in a Commodore with a pop top, all good here.
Please be aware that we do share a boundary with a working vineyard and they do occasionally have a tractor or crew out in the vines doing some work. There can be a bit of farm machinery work every now and then but this is beyond our control and generally very minimal as vines dont take much looking after unless its harvest night.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

This acreage was historically a larger soldiers settlements property comprising a dairy, piggery and wool farming. The quality of the land hasn't changed with most of the region's farmland in use, so this is a cool place to stay in the Macedon Ranges.
Currently home to our family, the property is also visited by many native Australian birdlife species, many marsupials including kangaroos, echidna, possums and even a koala.
With close proximity to coffee shops and local stores of Romsey and Lancefield Providore, you have only a few minutes to drive to stock up on local produce.
Walking the trails around Hanging Rock is a 10-minute drive and Mt Macedon lookout 15min.

Located on the edge of the picturesque town of Buln Buln postcode 3821 (not Moe) take in views of rolling green hills and heritage listed oak trees while the gentle cattle and sheep graze nearby paddocks.
We have access to power and river water on all three sites (not suitable for drinking) but no toilet so your vehicle must be fully self contained.
One site is a drive through concrete slab, the other two are grassed sites. The grassed sites are next to each other and the slab site is on the opposite site of the driveway.
There is a free public dump point available at Neerim South (a 10 minute drive north)
10 minutes drive to the larger township of Warragul.
Firewood and eggs from our happy free range hens can be provided for an additional fee. (Please note our hens are currently moulting so we have none available, so sorry!) Please only use the provided fire pits and no fires are allowed on total fire ban days.
There is no access to the main house or paddocks unless accompanied by the property host.
There is some traffic noise during the day but the nights are peaceful.
Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they remain on leads at all times.
Each site is limited to one vehicle and van or single campervan. Should you have a larger group and want to bring additional vehicles please book an additional site.

The campsite is located on the edge of our 32-acre vineyard, on a 120-acre property. Guests are welcome to take a walk amongst the vines, subject to vineyard operations during the season of course.

Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Fire restrictions in place during your stay must be observed. Firewood is available for purchase from a neighbour, located opposite the entrance to Summerhill Road.

The picturesque township of Warburton is just over 7kms away. Restaurants, cafes, and wineries are all a short drive from here. Yarra Ranges National Park is also on our door step.
We are a 1hr 15mins drive from Melbourne, though Summerhill Vineyard will have you feeling a world away. The Yarra Valley offers quality local food and wine, breathtaking scenery, walks, cycling tracks, and tourist destinations like Healesville Sanctuary, Lotus Water Gardens, Warburton Rail Trail and much more. Or.....you can chill out and just enjoy the serenity and views from your campsite.
My family live on the property, close to 1/2km from the campsite, far enough away for your complete privacy, or close enough if you need us!
Mobile network coverage at Summerhill Vineyard, in all areas, is good.

We are 1 hour East of Melbourne along the M1, (and a couple of kms off the M1). Situated in West Gippsland. Casa Cucina is a feast for the senses and very close by you can enjoy the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau, the Bunyip State Forest, the (mostly) lush green valleys, to the rivers and streams… there is always something to do in West Gippsland for the curious. The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space. The river is shallow for paddling, not really ‘swimmable’, a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family and folks, we also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet - mainly seen at dawn or dusk.
Our space can accommodate up to 4 caravans, tents or trailers (under 10 metres) in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans (enquire for this option). This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your own group.
If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space.
As a reminder, all campers will need to be Self Contained as we have no toilet facilities, no access to fresh water, cold showers only and no cooking facilities.
Also remember if you wish to have a fire (not during fire season however) in our fire pit, you MUST bring your own wood.

The property is bordered by he Murrundini River on one side, 1km, with hill side views on the other. All campsites have easy access the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace.
Site One is a large flat area close to the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far.
Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space.
All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck.
All sites and river swimming are clothing optional, but please respect other campers in public area's if on site.
In response to a recent review, I will point out that the driveway is a gravel farm track. Normal 2Wd cars have not had any recent issues.
We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a
short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them.
Amazing, abundant
and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). I am hoping to increase the nesting and habitat for as many local birds as possible, which has improved, but can get better with Your help. Not destroying large logs and tree's is first and foremost. But if you are inclined , funds for creating nesting spots are greatly appreciated. You can directly ask for donations to go towards specific prospects/ projects. Tawney frog mouths, king parrots, and many, many other birds call this place home. For donations specific to conservation, please contact me direct.

Looking for a peaceful and secluded spot to park up whilst exploring the Yarra Valley winery region, the Dandenong Ranges, or some of Melbourne's close regional towns like Healesville, Yarra Glen and Warburton?
We have opened up a beautiful flat expanse at the rear of our five acre property and made it available to self contained campers and caravaners. We are travelers ourselves and often find it difficult to find peaceful yet secure spots that allow us to explore capital cities and the lovely areas around them.
Most cities tend to have caravan parks in the outer suburbs and these can often resemble concrete jungles and be very busy leaving you feel like you have to pay a top premium to be cramped into a space. But what options do you have if you want to explore a vibrant city like Melbourne. See a show, do some shopping, eat out at some of the World's greatest restaurants. Yes, we all should splurge every now and then even when on the road.
Our property lies at the very start of the Yarra Valley. It is surrounded on three sides by the magnificent Helens Hill vineyard. In the Summer months you can watch the fruit come onto the vines and in the Winter the views open up to see the kangaroos bouncing though the rows and often silhouetted against the skyline sunsets.
We are less than 5 minutes to Lilydale town center. Supermarkets, restaurants, service centers, parts stores, hardware are all on the doorstep, yet looking out over the vines you wouldn't know.
Lilydale is 38 kms from Melbourne CBD and there is a train station with ample day parking making it super easy to explore the heart of Melbourne and return 'home' to your country retreat for the night. Myki cards available on site FOC.
There is a dump point only 3kms away at a local caravan park for those that need it and at our property water can be available to fill your tanks if needed for a small donation. There is no water or power connection on the sites but you can release your grey water to nourish the grass. Lilydale has a large laundromat available to you.
We have a beautiful covered eating area with BBQ available so if the weather turns inclement you can still eat out yet under cover.
All campers must be 100% self contained. These are remote sites with no connections and there are no toilet facilities available.
We have restricted our area to a maximum of 6 sites to ensure that everyone has their space. Sites are not marked and locations will be on a first booked basis. Owners will direct you to your areas. The area is beautifully flat and does absorb water well but care must be taken to not tear it up after heavy rains. Please seek assistance from owners rather than tearing up the grass as a tractor is available.
We can cater for large sized vans and even large motorhomes. Tents are welcome. The property is pet friendly but not fully fenced so your furry friends would need to be on lead. We have our own dogs on the property.
Hipcamp being USA based describes the sites and vehicles in USA terms and lengths. There is no way to alter this but please be aware. We cater for Aussie sized caravans and 4wd vehicles. 14 or 15m long all up, no problem. Just in a 4x4 with roof top tent and awning, we have you covered. Cruising the country in a Commodore with a pop top, all good here.
Please be aware that we do share a boundary with a working vineyard and they do occasionally have a tractor or crew out in the vines doing some work. There can be a bit of farm machinery work every now and then but this is beyond our control and generally very minimal as vines dont take much looking after unless its harvest night.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

Currently home to our family, the property is also visited by many native Australian birdlife species, many marsupials including kangaroos, echidna, possums and even a koala.
With close proximity to coffee shops and local stores of Romsey and Lancefield Providore, you have only a few minutes to drive to stock up on local produce.

The sheep have free roam of the property so they may come sunrise you at night so make sure gates are shut behind you. Any questions feel free to ask away

Our empty and unused dairy has space available out the front for up to 3, fully self contained vans (no tents)
Located on the edge of the picturesque town of Buln Buln postcode 3821 (not Moe) take in views of rolling green hills and heritage listed oak trees while the gentle cattle and sheep graze nearby paddocks.
We have access to power and river water on all three sites (not suitable for drinking) but no toilet so your vehicle must be fully self contained.
One site is a drive through concrete slab, the other two are grassed sites. The grassed sites are next to each other and the slab site is on the opposite site of the driveway.
There is a free public dump point available at Neerim South (a 10 minute drive north)
10 minutes drive to the larger township of Warragul.
Firewood and eggs from our happy free range hens can be provided for an additional fee. (Please note our hens are currently moulting so we have none available, so sorry!) Please only use the provided fire pits and no fires are allowed on total fire ban days.
There is no access to the main house or paddocks unless accompanied by the property host.
There is some traffic noise during the day but the nights are peaceful.
Dogs are welcome but please ensure that they remain on leads at all times.
Each site is limited to one vehicle and van or single campervan. Should you have a larger group and want to bring additional vehicles please book an additional site.

Welcome to Summerhill Vineyard! Pitch your tent or park your camper on a private, elevated position overlooking vineyards, farmland and surrounding mountain ranges. Enjoy plenty of space and peace and quiet.
The campsite is located on the edge of our 32-acre vineyard, on a 120-acre property. Guests are welcome to take a walk amongst the vines, subject to vineyard operations during the season of course.
All guests must be self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Fire restrictions in place during your stay must be observed. Firewood is available for purchase from a neighbour, located opposite the entrance to Summerhill Road.
4wd accessible during the wetter months and 2wd during the drier months.
You are welcome to bring your dog, just please note that the area is unfenced. We have a mob of kangaroos that visit and cattle and horses reside here also. We ask that our guests display responsible pet ownership at all times.
Summerhill Vineyard is located in the Upper Yarra region of the Yarra Valley. We are a 5-minute drive from Yarra Junction township, with supermarkets, butchers and a small shopping precinct. The picturesque township of Warburton is just over 7kms away. Restaurants, cafes, and wineries are all a short drive from here. Yarra Ranges National Park is also on our door step.
We are a 1hr 15mins drive from Melbourne, though Summerhill Vineyard will have you feeling a world away. The Yarra Valley offers quality local food and wine, breathtaking scenery, walks, cycling tracks, and tourist destinations like Healesville Sanctuary, Lotus Water Gardens, Warburton Rail Trail and much more. Or.....you can chill out and just enjoy the serenity and views from your campsite.
My family live on the property, close to 1/2km from the campsite, far enough away for your complete privacy, or close enough if you need us!

Welcome to Casa Cucina or the River House, a whimsical, quiet space to chill and enjoy the unique environment, calm and beauty.
PLEASE NOTE UP FRONT, Our page says 1 site, this site can hold 4 caravans, tents or trailers at any one time, in one group. Each Van/ tent allows for 2 adults and 2 children under 16. Extra adults (16 and over) are charged at $20 per night per site.
We are 1 hour East of Melbourne along the M1, (and a couple of kms off the M1). Situated in West Gippsland. Casa Cucina is a feast for the senses and very close by you can enjoy the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau, the Bunyip State Forest, the (mostly) lush green valleys, to the rivers and streams… there is always something to do in West Gippsland for the curious. Other attractions in the area are Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries.
The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space. The river is shallow for paddling, not really ‘swimmable’, a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family and folks, we also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet - mainly seen at dawn or dusk.
Our space can accommodate up to 4 caravans, tents or trailers (under 10 metres) in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans (enquire for this option). This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your own group.
If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space.
As a reminder, all campers will need to be Self Contained as we have no toilet facilities, no access to fresh water, cold showers only and no cooking facilities.
Also remember if you wish to have a fire (not during fire season however) in our fire pit, you MUST bring your own wood.

Nestled in the Macedon ranges in the tiny hamlet of Riddell’s Creek, Dromkeen is 30 minutes drive from Melbourne Airport. This stately National Trust home has beautiful gardens with a range of Australian native and European plants, a gazebo and two resident alpacas.
We have space in the large carpark for vans, motorhomes, or alternatively the horse paddock for tents and campers. Ample toilets available. Dogs permitted by advance request.
Guests are welcome to visit the Tea Room, open 10am – 5pm Wednesday through Sunday. Our daily menu contains a selection of delicious cakes, devonshire tea, toasted sandwiches, specialty pies and weekly specials and of course, tea and coffee. Breakfast is served all day.
Browse in the galleries or wander around the beautiful gardens which have trees more than 100 years old, some listed on the National Trust register. Meet our 2 Dromkeen alpacas Hannah and Lilly.
***Please note, we are a rubbish free campsite, so campers are asked to take their rubbish with them. Dromkeen has very clean toilets, but a reminder there are NO showers. We welcome self-contained campers to enjoy the laid-back serenity of our farm stay setting. The property is situated adjacent to the State forest, so you'll have nature at your doorstep, with bush walks and an abundance of wildlife, not to mention meeting the local resident animals; Our two horses, our Highland cow Bonnie, Alpacas, sheep, many chickens, guinea pigs and of course, Zeik, our lovable Goat!
We have plenty of green, open space, for you to set up. We also have an undercover area to sit, with fridge, kettle, toaster, and power point to charge phones which you are welcome to use.
Please Note: There is a slight undulation in much of the cleared area, so some campers/caravans may require leveling. If you require a flat area, please message us to see if we have one available.

Long periods of wet weather may affect some of the camping areas. Therefore, we recommend keeping an eye on the weather report close to your stay and if you have any concerns, please touch base with us!
OUR LOCATION:
Neerim South is located in the southern foothills of the Great Dividing Range, there is so much to see and do nearby, including Neerim South Brewery, Toronga Water Falls, walking trails, the famous Noojee Pub, Mt Baw Baw tourist drive, Blue rock Lake which is great for fishing and swimming, there's old historical trestle bridges, Walhalla Mining town and lots more.

We had an amazing stay at Galea Ranch! The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and very attentive throughout our visit. My daughter absolutely loved when Sharelle showed her how to feed the animals.
The place itself is stunning, with beautiful views and everything you need for a comfortable stay. It’s family-friendly, with a great playground for the kids to enjoy, and at the same time offers plenty of privacy.
We highly recommend this place and would love to come back!

We had such a beautiful stay at River Block / Casa Cucina — it honestly exceeded our expectations. The setting is peaceful and private, with the river adding such a calming backdrop to the whole experience. It felt like the perfect balance between being immersed in nature and still having thoughtful comforts.
Casa Cucina is a real highlight — such a charming and well-equipped space. You can tell a lot of care has gone into creating a welcoming, functional setup.
The site itself is spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of room to relax and unwind. Whether it was sitting by the river, enjoying the quiet, or just taking in the surroundings, it was incredibly easy to switch off and recharge.
Our host, Chris was fantastic — friendly, responsive, and clearly passionate about the space they’ve created. Everything felt easy and well-organised from start to finish.
We’d absolutely come back again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with a bit of charm and character. 🌿✨

We absolutely loved our stay. There’s 2 sites on the property and you pass the creek site on the way in the have the whole back paddock to yourself. The area into the site was steep with dirt track so we were a bit concerned with the 21ft full off-road van but it was fine. We loved the peace and quiet however it’s close enough to Romsey if you need supplies and hanging rock is literally down the road if you feel like being more adventurous. Looking forward to the next time we can stay.

We had a fantastic weekend at Galea Ranch on Hipcamp.
The property is beautifully set with spectacular views of the Cathedral Ranges and surrounded by peaceful bushland. It offers two large campsites plus a more secluded glamping option, and it worked perfectly for our group of 14 (adults, kids, and a few very happy dogs). We had two caravans, a campervan, and a camper trailer, and there was still plenty of space for everyone to spread out comfortably.
Our hosts, Sharelle and Wayne, were absolutely wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure we had everything we needed.
The facilities strike a perfect balance between camping and comfort: a flushing toilet, a cute outdoor shower with hot and cold water, and a charming camp kitchen where you can wash up and even purchase fresh local produce like eggs, veggies, and buckets of carrots to feed the resident Highland cows and pony (a huge hit with the kids!).
Each site has its own fire pit with bench seating, and we loved that the first night’s firewood was provided. There’s also a great little playground setup with a tyre swing, climbing A-frames, totem tennis, a hoop, and plenty of balls to keep the kids entertained.
All in all, Galea Ranch is a stunning property with thoughtful touches, fantastic facilities, and truly lovely hosts, thanks Sharelle and Wayne. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend it!

This is a fantastic Hipcamp. The property is magnificent, and well maintained, and is a credit to the hosts. Glen and Kim where super friendly and great to deal with, and checked in daily to make sure everthing was ok. There were 11 of us, including my grand kids, aged 2,5,7. We all had a great time. We were set up in 1 caravan, 2 fold out camper trailers and a tent, and had plenty of room. The kids loved playing in the river right next to our site. Lots to see and do for the kids . All in all a terrific place to spend an Easter weekend.

The photos don’t do this campsite justice. The views are beautiful. Lots of grass, plenty of room, a view that you can sit and just look at for hours… And so close to Melbourne… The hosts were easy to communicate with and helpful/accomodating. Very easy stay. Only thing you note is the site is close-ish to the road and you can hear cars, but not enough to keep you awake. We were there over Easter, so traffic was more frequent…. But regardless, we would certainly return….Beautiful place…. A great getaway, not far from home….

Where to go
Healesville
A main Yarra Valley town, Healesville is a hub of food and drink (largely wine!) and a handy base for campers who want to enjoy the restaurants or prepare their own gourmet meals around the campfire. The town is equipped with holiday parks with good facilities and different camping options to suit various budgets. Healesville is a short distance from the Maroondah Reservoir, where there are picnic spots and scenic walks.
Yarra Ranges National Park
The forested Yarra Ranges National Park spreads out around the Yarra Valley towns of Marysville, Healesville, and Warburton. The trees and vegetation here are especially impressive, and are a lovely environment for short walks and hikes. There are campsites throughout this national park but some of these have undergone repairs after storms; if they’re unavailable, there are nearby campsites and holiday parks elsewhere in the Yarra Valley, including Healesville and at other national and regional parks.
Kinglake National Park
A popular spot among hikers, mountain bikers, and campers, the Kinglake National Park is on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range and is easily accessible from the Yarra Valley. Keen and casual bird watchers alike will also enjoy looking out for the colourful bird life in this park, and the tall Masons Falls are especially impressive after rain. The small campsite within the park has space for tents, caravans, and camper vans, and is surrounded by shady eucalyptus trees.
Dandenong Ranges National Park
The Dandenong Ranges are often referred to at the same time as the Yarra Valley, as many day or overnight trippers from Melbourne visit both areas. The cool rainforested mountains are dotted with waterfalls, making this an ideal destination for hiking and picnicking, as well as camping. Campers can find everything from basic tent sites to luxurious cabins in the Dandenong Ranges, and it’s all very accessible from Melbourne.
