Weekend Trip to Tonimbuk Farm

We had the most amazing time at Tonimbuk Farm. The setting is absolutely stunning — right on the edge of the dam with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. Our kids had an absolute blast exploring the area and spending time in nature. A special highlight was the two gorgeous dogs, Marly and Max, who hung around during our stay - they were so friendly and we loved their company. We were lucky enough to spot the resident platypus, a wombat, some deer, and a few kangaroos — such a treat! The firewood supply was more than generous, and the little fire starter kit was a thoughtful touch that made setting up a breeze. All in all, this place exceeded our expectations. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks Rob and Leanne (and Ivy & Theo!)

Weekend Trip to Boulder Brook Valley

We loved camping at the Secret Garden (16 mates plus a dog!, all tent camping). So close to the city but with a secluded kind of vibe. Flat ground for tents was limited but we all made do just fine. The area and grounds are lovely and well maintained. BBQ and tables worked a treat. We didn't end up using any power on site so cannot comment but there was solar and a battery on site. The owner was extremely helpful in the lead up and very accomodating. Sunsets and plane spotting were fantastic. It was still a little chilly for us to get in the water but the spot itself was stunning. We'll be back!

A unique remote location but you are still close to Melbourne. Plenty of space for a large group to camp and still have private space if they choose. It's a really cool place but will only stay that way if we look after it. A good camping motto is: "Always leave the campsite better than you found it".

Beautiful and peaceful location! Jana was a great host and kindly showed us to our site. We had the place to ourselves apart from wallabies and wombats. It was great to allow our dog off lead and we loved exploring the huge site. We used the plumbed toilets up at the main farm building, and also had a tap there to refill our water. We would definitely come back again.

A peaceful and quiet campsite, immersed in nature, big and feeling private. The site is more beautiful than the photos you see on Hipcamp. My dog loves running freely to explore and enjoy her best life😄. The pond/lake and the creek are the highlights! Surrounded by berry bushes, it’s winter so no berries or leaves yet but I can imagine how beautiful when it’s summer 😁 Only one hour from south east suburbs , nice weekend getaway.

1 night at Boulder Brook Valley

This site really is spectacular. For nature lovers like us this was a hidden oasis. A lovely hut overlooked the river and lots of billabongs and creeks to explore. It was unfortunate that the previous campers who were there when we arrived and were reluctant to leave despite us coming a hour after our check in time had also drained the battery and gas bottle as well as learning human waste and toilet paper around. The owner was lovely and responsive but we were without power or gas for the night so I would recommend bringing backup. We still had a great evening the fire pits are well placed near the hut and lots of fallen branches around for kindling. We will definitely be back ❤️

Lovely location with a beautifully open and secluded area that has a mystic foggy view in the morning (I went in August). It was my first time camping with my partner and was struggling with the fire with the dampness but Jana helped us with such positive attitude. So so grateful, we would love to visit again sometime!
