Hidden Valley House is nestled in Anakie, VIC, set within the scenic Brisbane National Ranges and only a 1-hour drive from Melbourne CBD. Taking into consideration our ethos around sustainability, the cabin is “off-grid” so solar powered with a composting toilet but with all the amenities you need. The cabin has spectacular views overlooking the valley with an abundance of wildlife and has a small creek and several caves which have formed over millions of years. As well as the cabin, we offer a camping area to larger groups that need overflow accommodation if the cabin is not big enough. This makes Hidden Valley House a fantastic option for large groups wanting to have all the comfort and amenities of the cabin, but experience the back-to-basic joy of camping in nature. Set on an 18-acre property at the start of the Brisbane National Ranges, it is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, sugar gliders and an abundance of birds including eagles and kookaburras. Furthermore, the land is protected by Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife offering long-term protection for many ecosystems, species and native wildlife. The property is surrounded by national parks and is only a short drive from charming, historical towns such as Meredith and Steiglitz and only 25mins to Geelong. A number of family-owned wineries are located nearby and within Victoria’s Moorabool Valley winery. AWD/4WD recommended

Trickle Hill is a lovely cottage tucked away at the edge of our bush. You have your own little patio, and can go for adventurous walks straight from your living room ! We are close to Dandenong ranges, Yarra valley, Bunyip state park, and Puffing Billy. We are just behind Avalon castle- so great if you are attending a wedding We welcome couples, solo adventurers and families. We are of course LGBTI+ friendly! Dogs are very welcome. The cottage is a converted shed, with three bedrooms, a lovely living area and a cosy closed woodfire. We have a sheltered outdoor area, where you can have a barbeque, or have a small fire in a firedish. The cottage is in the bush, so you can walk out and try to find our resident breeding pair of Lyrebirds, echidnas, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos or the deer that live in our 'back yard'. Or just roam, which shouldn't be too hard on 67 acres . We are close to massive areas of bush with open trails. Dogs are very welcome- no cats. As we live in the bush, we do our best to keep everything as 'green' as we can- so please don't use harsh chemicals. Living in the bush brings with it that you cannot light a fire in fire danger periods, and, heating on a woodstove, means there is a hot stove in the room. (watch those little fingers...) Our aim is to give you a place of rest and enjoyment. We love to share our space as we love it here so much- and hope you love it too. As life is a project - don't expect 10* linen and luxury, state of the art gardens and clipped lawns, but a friendly welcoming atmosphere where you can be yourself and relax. We love to have visitors, and chat for a bit- or leave you to relax. The cottage is on the edge of the bush, where you are welcome to roam on the tracks or off them- at your own risk :-) We are both artists, and our studio's are close to the cottage, which might make some noise, but we'll try to keep it at a minimum when guests are here. The upside is, you could learn something if interested :-) (contact us for workshops) We have a working hobby farm- with some machinery, animals (pigs, dogs, horses, ducks and chickens). You can interact with the animals if you talk to us about safety first, but the horse paddock is out of bounds. ( they can behave unpredictable, are very large (!) and very valuable) Our dogs are very friendly and will most probably visit you. Our puppy still has lots to learn :-) Our property is stock- fenced, our animals will stay in, but dogs are able to roam if they are not staying with you. There is no secure yard to leave your dog during the day, you are expected to be in control of your dogs at all times. If they are ok with horses, chooks and dogs, and under voice command, they can be off leash. Dogs are not to sleep on the beds. We are a rural property with animals, and there are dams on the property, (not close to the cottage) so please keep an eye on children - we cannot take responsibility for your persons or animals. Living on a farm means that not everything is neat, safe, flat or person-proof. Often there is actual work being done involving machinery. Coming here is entirely at your own risk. (sorry for all the disclaimers...) But- of course- if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasurable, we will do our best to do so!

Silverleaves is a 20 acre block, partially bush and partially cleared. The property is only 40km from the Melbourne CBD and 20 minutes drive to the Yarra Valley. Guests can enjoy the peace of their campsite, watch the Miniature Galloway cattle graze, enjoy a bush walk on property or at nearby Bunjil Reserve or even kayak in the dam. Sites range from flat to gently undulating. Undulating sections can easily be leveled with a decent set of caravan levelers. Camp fires are allowed in season and in accordance with fire restrictions. Strict ‘close gate’ policy applies for any farm gates. Access: We recommend campers access the property from the Alma Road end of Rodger Road. Rodger Road is a narrow road but Silverleaves is only approx 500 metres from the Alma Road intersection. The driveway of Silverleaves is steep and uneven in sections. We recommend a 4WD if towing a caravan. 2WD vehicles frequently access the driveway without problem if camping without towing a caravan. Safe drinking water is available on the property (may not be reachable to site).

Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm

20. Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm

73km from Mount Martha · 25 sites · Tents, RVs
Have you ever been to a Christmas tree farm… and have you ever slept on one? 🎄✨ At the Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm, you can do both - offering a truly unique camping experience surrounded by rows of real Christmas trees in a peaceful, open setting. This is a fantastic place to slow down, unwind, and spend quality time outdoors while enjoying something a little different from your usual campsite. Despite the tranquil farm atmosphere, the location is incredibly convenient: just 35 minutes from Melbourne CBD, 8 minutes from Rockbank Train Station, and only 10 minutes from grocery stores and Watergardens Shopping Centre. The property is safe and secure, with fencing at the front. A tap for water is available (though we still recommend bringing your own water to be prepared). There are no toilets or power available so campers will need to be self-sufficient. We cater comfortably for caravans and motorhomes, with mostly flat land making setup easy. Tents are more than welcome, and the property is pet friendly, so your furry companions can join you too. During the Christmas season—from mid-November through to Christmas Eve—the farm can be a little louder at times due to Christmas tree cutting. That said, campers are positioned at a safe distance, and noise generally isn’t an issue. We also have a few cattle that move throughout the property, though they are mostly sectioned off from camping areas. We’d absolutely love for you to spend time on our property and enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience. Once you arrive, the owners will personally direct you to your camping area, ensuring you’re set up comfortably. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to message us—we’re always happy to help. 🌿🎄

Secluded in its location, amongst the bushy hills of Hoddles Creek. Much of the 15 acres is undulating bushland with a track looping the property. The track leads down past a beautiful dam located in the property and weaves its way to border the Kurth Kiln Regional Park. Park near the dam and wake up in the morning to the sounds of the birds and have breakfast by the water.
