Very private areas for camping. Campfires available but only in months when fire restrictions are not in force. A wide range of birdlife and duck life, wildlife including kangaroos, possums, echidnas. In wet weather you may need a 4 wheel drive vechile to access some of the sites. You will need to bring all your camping gear as these are tent and vechile sites only. We dont have any huts at this stage. 30 minute drive to Ballarat, 45 Min Geelong, 2 minutes drive to the village of Elaine and The Farmgate Shop which is open 7 days a week with a full range of all groceries, bbq needs, drinks, snacks, etc. 5 minutes to dollys creek, 5 minutes to Mt Doran/Lal Lal, 10 minutes to Meredith. A mid week escape and we had the camping area to ourselves. Jem and Dale are wonderful hosts, engaging and more than helpful. The facilities are modern and spotless. The spot by the lakes edge offered awesome sunrises called in by the water birds. A great way to capture some peace and quiet.

Weekend Trip to Shacks at Kardella Park

We had a great stay here. It’s a fantastic open space where dogs are allowed off leash, which made it perfect for us. The host was very friendly and welcoming. It’s also only about a 10-minute walk to the beach, which was very convenient. We stayed at the top paddock, which is the larger one and a bit further from the beach, but I actually preferred it for the extra space and privacy. Would definitely recommend to others and would happily come back again.

Weekend Trip to Lancefield Lake's A WETLANDS WONDER

We had a great stay camping by the lake. It gets beautiful morning sun and welcome shade in the afternoon, making it really comfortable throughout the day. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. We saw plenty of birdlife and wildlife, including an echidna and kangaroos, which was a real highlight. Jemillia was responsive and very accommodating. We’d definitely stay again.

Such a great site where you feel in the middle of nature but you're actually so close to home. The gazebo, chairs and table are really good to have and mean you can pack even lighter! Our dog loved exploring the area and having a swim in the water.

You wouldn't necessarily expect that being parked in the middle of a field would be all that relaxing but it is! There is lots of space between guests, it's very quiet and the beach is a short 10 min stroll away. Apparently there are fire pits available when the weather is suitable which we will look forward to next time. Make sure you bring your own shade as there are no trees. Very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend to others.

3 nights at Shacks at Kardella Park

Was a great place to stay, quiet & easy access to the main road, beach & public toilets if needed.. through the side gate. Bit windy at times when we were there, but can’t control the weather, so that’s nothing on the property..! Will definitely return 😊

1 night at Afton Park - Heart of the Bellarine

A great overnight stay at Afton Park! Myself and my dog had an awesome time. Nice and clean facilities, lots of open space to run around and play. We’ll definitely be coming back! Couldn’t recommend enough. 😊
