Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

( Aug - Jan) Backing onto the national park and walking tracks. Jehoshaphat Gully, Shelley Harris Track, Mt Jerusalem Track. Walking distance to Kinglake historic walk, Cookson Hill Track, Mt Everard Track, Bollygum Park. Visit Mason Falls Waterfall, 12-minute drive to Kinglake West. We have 2 dogs, 6 pet sheep and 4 lambs, 2 blue tongue lizards The farming area is completely fenced in, this is to keep the deer out, but you can venture out onto the property bush land with the correct map and navigation equipment. Our walk the neighboring farm (105 acres) Eagles, cockatoos, black cockatoos, kookaburras, magpies, rosellas, king parrots, Gang-gang cockatoo, honey eaters can be spotted most days and lyrebirds if you’re keen to go looking. Small playground with swings, slide, monkey bars and sandpit. Taxi service - The Graceful-Goat to get you around to the local eats and wineries. The Kinglake market is on the 4th Sunday of each month 10-2pm - Except December which is the Sunday before Christmas - twilight 2-7pm - No market in January. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. We enjoyed a week in a tent at the scout camp, and are very grateful they're willing to share the place with others. Plenty of gas-fired instant hot water for the showers, potable water, and it felt safe and secure. Although on 80 acres, the allocated Hipcamp area was in the south east corner, near Hearn Rd and Park Rd. There's an urban bus stop in Hearn Rd ~250m from the camp entrance.

It's a great location, 1hour from the zoo. Yes it's on the road but it is very quiet. Multiple camps to drive in but some is overgrown with branches and long grass. The toilet hadn't been cleaned and we had to fill up the portaloo water ourselves too. One of the neighbours were playing doof doof music all night which definitely ruined alot of it for us. Would still recommend though as a camp before heading into town or the zoo etc.

Lovely spot, easy to find and plenty of room for our 5 caravans, 2 of which were 20ft in length. Peaceful and large grassy area. Tamara came to say hello to our group & talked about the local area & events. She was very welcoming. So nice to see the sheep & goats grazing in the paddocks. We had a choice of two large fire pits. Would definitely camp here again.

Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. Or choose to stay in our beautiful A-frame cabin, with plush bedding, cozy fire, and outdoor lounge. More than anything else this is a place to relax and be away from normal, live outside yourself, and rediscover what weekends are for.  Dogs are welcome, so long as they don't bother the wildlife. Private property nestled in the Barrm Birrm Nature Reserve, this spot is ideal for hikers looking for a secluded escape that is still close to Melbourne. The site is on a 'street' disguised as a goat track, and is only accessible by foot. It's around 500m from the (drivable) dirt road. The site is close enough to town to get excellent mobile coverage (and supplies!). There is a permanent picnic table on the site and nothing else. We only hire the site out to one group at a time, so you know you'll have the whole acre to yourself. A fire can be lit only in strict accordance with local restrictions, so be sure to check the current requirements. Barrm Birrm is a special place, full of wildlife and native vegetation, so we ask that you leave the place exactly as you found it.
