91 Gordons Bridge Road was once part of a pine plantation that had been planted in the late 60's and harvested just prior to the Black Saturday fires. Across the road from the Kinglake National Park, it is surrounded by protected flora and fauna. Victoria's Pink heath, wattles and tea tree provide a pleasant backdrop in season. It is not an uncommon site to see an echidna or two on the property, with black wallabies, kangaroos and wombats often seen grazing on pasture in the evening. The mud turrets are the home of endangered land yabbies and Lyrebirds have been seen in the area. Feral deer have come to inhabit nearby properties and sometimes wonder down the track. Birds watchers will enjoy a variety of bird life that inhabit the area including eagle hawks, fairy wrens, kookaburras, rosellas, parrots and yellow tailed black cockatoos when in season. The area is a popular spot for hikers with the start of the Mountain Creek trail only a few kms down Gordons Bridge Road and serious cyclists train regularly, on Mount Slide, especially on the weekend. For the serious wine lover the property is within 15km of the Yarra Valley Wine Growing area with many wineries offering tastings.

Guests can enjoy the peace of their campsite, watch the Miniature Galloway cattle graze, enjoy a bush walk on property or at nearby Bunjil Reserve or even kayak in the dam. Sites range from flat to gently undulating. Undulating sections can easily be leveled with a decent set of caravan levelers. Camp fires are allowed in season and in accordance with fire restrictions. Strict ‘close gate’ policy applies for any farm gates. Access: We recommend campers access the property from the Alma Road end of Rodger Road. Rodger Road is a narrow road but Silverleaves is only approx 500 metres from the Alma Road intersection. The driveway of Silverleaves is steep and uneven in sections. We recommend a 4WD if towing a caravan. 2WD vehicles frequently access the driveway without problem if camping without towing a caravan. Safe drinking water is available on the property (may not be reachable to site).

The property has two dams, it is well treed with large open parts and has a beautiful view to Mount Macedon. Kangaroos, possums and echidnas also live here. You are welcome to walk the property and visit the farm animals during your stay (as long as you stay on the outside of paddocks/yards). The rate includes a small tour of our farm sanctuary. Nestled in the picturesque Macedon Ranges, an easy drive from Melbourne, our property Taloumbi is set on 10 acres of unique bushland populated with native grasses, ancient grass trees, indigenous wildflowers, wattles and eucalypts. Guests can look out for kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas, whilst relaxing in the comfort of our cosy boho bell tent. Our 5 metre bell tent has a queen bed with quality linen, electric blanket, bean bag lounge chairs, floor rugs, heater, fan, WiFi, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, kettle with a selection of teas, mini fridge, crockery, cutlery, glassware and towels. The private bathrooom is located in our rustic house less than 50 metres away (via an independent entrance). It includes a toilet, shower (over a bath) and a vanity, with fluffy towels and essential toiletries. An à la carte vegetarian or vegan breakfast with "tent service" is included. Homecooked dinners and Devonshire teas are also available by arrangement. The place was right next to the National Park, so it was easy to access for walks. There was a lovely little walk along the creek too. The campsite itself was spacious and was great to have free wifi and power. Make sure you order the eggs and sourdough bread. They were absolutely delicious. Clara, the host, was lovely.

Weekend Trip to Mountain Flower Farm

Lovely spot, easy to find and plenty of room for our 5 caravans, 2 of which were 20ft in length. Peaceful and large grassy area. Tamara came to say hello to our group & talked about the local area & events. She was very welcoming. So nice to see the sheep & goats grazing in the paddocks. We had a choice of two large fire pits. Would definitely camp here again.

We had a fantastic time here! Jonathan and Jennifer were so lovely and welcoming, and do a mean vegan breakfast! The bell tent had everything we needed including board games, a coffee machine, and a mini fridge. There's also a table and chairs outside of the tent so we relaxed out there with a bottle of wine. We loved seeing the local wildlife that they care for too. Will be back again!

We had a wonderful stay at Kiernan Park Equestrian Centre. Being surrounded by such beautiful countryside, horses, roos and rabbits, it was beyond relaxing. We had a couple of great nights around the fire too. Jenny was the perfect host, taking care of us and chatting whilst our doggos played. Jenny's doggo, Whiz, is gorgeous. We'll definitely be back when we're exploring the Yarra Valley again. Highly recommended.

Peaceful and picturesque site overlooking the small dam and hillside. The frogs in the dam had a huge concert each night! The rustic setting of the old concrete water tank for the composting bucket toilet was an interesting experience (but very handy!)! We were thankful for the supply of timber in the bushland for our nightly campfire. Definitely recommend.

The facilities, especially the toilets, are excellent for a camping site. Plus, spotting the cute kangaroos and rabbits at sundown is such a wonderful bonus!”

I enjoyed my stay at Little River camp. Nothing better than waking up hearing the birds, sheeps and the roos. The place is only 30-40 mins away from the western suburbs but it’s very large, quiet and away from all the city life. Plenty of spots to choose from and the view of the farm, hills and its wildlife are magnificent. Hosts are very helpful and responsive. Would definitely be back here and recommend 👍🏼

I had such an amazing getaway at this beautiful farm. The host and her mum were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home and their hospitality was truly exceptional. The van itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The views were absolutely stunning, and spending the evenings by the fireplace under the stars was pure magic. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and nature. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable escape! 🌿✨
