Close to Lake Awoonga (4km drive) for fishing and all other aquatic activities along with a great barramundi stocked impoundment. Be sure to check out the Barramundi Hatchery near the dam. There is a large undercover area with tables and chairs, flushing toilets and hot showers and designated campfire area and a fully kitted out commercial kitchen and BBQs for your use. Please ensure this is left clean after your use and don't take what does not belong to you. MAXIMUM stay in alignment with Gladstone Council regulations is 2 weeks. We do not cater for permanents. Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

Jason was a great host, showed us to our site on arrival. Grounds are well kept and very private. Site is right on the creek bank, catch fish from your camp site! Heaps of birds, fish and crabs. Kayaking from the private boat ramp, cast the bait net for some live baits next to the boat ramp. Wake up to watching big barra smash mullet in the morning from the camp site. Yup we will be back!

Great park, if you book make sure you ask for old area and not new as the new area you get no breeze. Amenities are nice and clean, nice and close to the beach. Walking distance to shops and tavern.

I loved this camp! It had been raining so there was no other campers and I had the whole space. It was still a very nice area even after heavy rain. Sophie started a fire for me and I had a very relaxed night. The rooster and chickens came to visit me in the morning and my 2 dogs were very amused at how brave they were. Would definitely stay again.

This is maybe the best Hipcamp experience I have had. While there were other campers there it still felt nice and private and ‘bushy campy’…but at the same time we had hot showers, well kept toilets and an amazing camp kitchen - fully equipped with everything you could need. THE BEST PART about our experience was the pizza oven - we called ahead about whether we needed to supply wood and while we did bring some of our own they brought us some up anyway to help out and offered some advice on the best way to use the oven! 10/10 would recommend!!

Host greeted us upon arrival and provided us with a bin. Escorted us to a beautiful site overlooking the creek. The view was amazing with no blockages, plenty of fire wood around to use in the fire pits provided. Host left us alone all weekend and respected our space so it was completely private and we used the well kept boat ramp. I suggest bringing plenty of mozzie spray and coils to fight against midgies etc… shop was 3 min drive with all you need. Highly recommend staying here.
