Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland. We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy. Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month. Wildlife must not be disturbed). Under a minute drive to local creek and swimming hole. A few minutes drive to Wivenhoe dam recreation area. 15-minute drive to Fernvale for supplies (and one of the famous pies from the bakery). 20 minute drive to Somerset Dam for all your water sport fun. Stop at a swimming hole or lookout on your way up to scenic Mt Glorious. We are About a 15 minute drive from Northbrook Gorge, a popular local hike. Visit the iconic Ambulance Museum that tells the story of Ambulance services in Queensland. We are within easy reach of Highland Falls which has some great walking tracks and view points of the falls. Pets are also permitted in this bushland area but must be on a leash. We are just 3 mins from local shops, McDonald's, KFC. This is the perfect spot for those who want to wind down and escape the hustle and bustle. We are on a koala and wildlife corridor so respect for our wildlife as well as our domestic livestock is essential. We are conveniently located just off the Warrego Highway but once you set up camp, you will feel miles away from anywhere. Relax at camp or wander down to the creek to swim, fish or kayak (if the seasons are favourable); birdwatch, hike or mountain bike along the ridge; wander our flower field (seasonal picking available at additional cost); visit with the cattle and miniature ponies; stargaze and enjoy a camp fire (if there are no fire bans). If you want to explore the region, we are only 18klms from Toowoomba or Gatton and you can slip up Springbluff to easily access Highfields/Crows Nest area. Plenty of space to choose your camp, with very limited numbers accepted. Potable water available but Council requirements mean you must be fully self contained. Nearest dump point will be Gatton Showgrounds. The criticism of our space by some campers has been the nearby railway line. Nearest dump point will be Gatton Showgrounds. The criticism of our space by some campers has been the nearby railway line. We have become immune to it but for some the passing coal trains is annoying. They are sporadiac - sometimes frequent, other times not. If you don't like trains, perhaps Karinya is not for you :( Leave no trace.

Directions and communication were clear. Price was good. Surrounds were beautiful. Fire pits for each site and options on where to camp within each site were good too. It was peaceful. Pretty. Inviting. I would stay here again for sure! The goat curry was so yumm and good help when I made enquiries about my food intolerances. I got to camp in a thunderstorm and the place was even more beautiful the morning after. There was one goat who was very friendly and I enjoyed watching the shaggy cows stand in the creek and the kids chase each other up the banks. This was a very good experience

Once again, nothing short of a beautiful weekend out at Bares's Hideaway. The rain can't dampen the mood! Toilets are still one of the cleanest ones I've seen. One of the showers ran out of gas, but we sent them a message and they were down and changing the bottle out within the hour. Friendly owners, and continual upgrades (concrete drive for easier access for cars and vans), and if you like to be bare foot, am yet to find a prickle. 🙌

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Danielle. The play area was a real hit with the kids, and the quiet and spacious camp was exactly what we needed. The real stand though, was Danielle's hospitality. Fate took us over Mt Glorious on the way there and our rig was definitely not ready for it. Danielle made sure that my girls and I were safe and comfortable while dad went back to rescue our van. Ill be forever grateful for her help and, for the great conversation that followed into the night! We will definitely put it on our list to visit again, but a tip - beware of the mountain pass!

We had a fantastic experience camping at Savvy Creek Farm (Sunrise site)! Our host, Ben, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The facilities, including the bathroom and the pool, were clean and well-maintained. There were designated areas for campfires, with firewood available for purchase (self-service), or you can collect your own. We also loved getting to interact with the farm animals, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location is great since it's close to Toowoomba, so if you need anything it’s just a quick trip into town. Overall, a wonderful stay and highly recommended!

I camped near the creek by the windmill and was a perfect spot for my solar panels to get the sun all day. Lots of flat areas for my little teardrop camper. Hot showers and flushing toilets were a bonus and Tracy makes sure they are beautifully clean and tidy. they come to your site with firewood for reasonable prices and are so friendly. This place is a winner and I'll definietly be back. So close to Laidley and Rosewood but feels secluded and quiet.

Our property is an easy drive to many local towns in the Lockyer and Somerset regions and only an hour to Toowoomba or Brisbane city. Towns to visit north of us - Lowood, Tarampa and Fernvale and Esk. Towns west - Plainland, Laidley, Gatton and Toowoomba. Country towns south - Marburg and Rosewood, plus easy access to the Scenic Rim. Drive East and you come to Ipswich and Brisbane. We can help you tailor your own special Foggy Lookout gathering. Our sites are 4WD access only at the moment and have a designated fire pit for camp fires, just check there are no fire bans in place prior to arrival. ***ORDER YOUR FIREWOOD (In Extras) This must be purchased at time of booking to avoid disappointment or BYO firewood. ***BOOK Amenities TOILET/SHOWER units are only available for hire at our sites. ***Wellness Activities must be booked as early as possible to avoid disappointment, preferably at the time of making booking. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed.
