The properties history is colourful. In 1869 the area was a hub for gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky. Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, and if you dug in some of the rock heaps you might get a shock when you uncovered more than gold.

To make the most of our peace and tranquillity, campsites are scattered in secluded areas throughout the property. There are 4 main camping areas, The Forest Camp, The Creek Camp, The Mountain Camp and The Overflow, each offering something different. We have smaller sites, suitable for a couple, a family or a few friends through to larger sites for groups and all sites have been levelled for a comfortable stay.

Our property is located just 4 km from the historic town of Nobby on an all-weather road, offering beautiful views and a shaded area with three lovely, mowed grass campsites on 80 acres of land.
We have beautiful old gumtrees, some of which are estimated to be over 300 years old, providing lots of hollows and beautiful birdlife. You may also spot some wildlife, mainly birds, bearded dragons, and occasionally wallabies and kangaroos.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash as we are a working farm with horses. We can provide above-ground cages for dogs if guests plan to go exploring for the day and need somewhere safe for their furry friends to stay.
We also have a fire pit and picnic table available for our guests. Our property is off the main road on a private entry, so it's a safe place to leave caravans or other vehicles if you wish to go exploring. The historic Rudd pub, which offers beautiful meals, is just 4 km away. There is also a quiet no-through road nearby, which is a great place to go for a walk or take your pets for a stroll.

CURRENTLY CLOSED. We are a small 107 acre farm on the Great Dividing Range, a 10 minute drive from Toowoomba. Hopetoun Hills is a tranquil place to relax with water ducks, kangaroos, wallabies and all sorts of birds including the wedge tail eagles that come back to nest every year! Sadly in the drier months, our dam may not be full and the grass not green!
YOU MUST BE FULLY SELF CONTAINED. You MUST have TOILET (that you take with you when you leave), and SHOWERING facilities. If you do not have these then we are very sorry but we can not accommodate you, and if you do arrive and don't have these facilities we can't allow you to stay. This is a health issue for other campers, ourselves and our stock.
Our property is not suitable for young children due to the creek, dam, electric fencing and stock. We welcome dogs, although they must be kept on a lead and/or contained for the courtesy of other guests, and we have livestock such as cattle, calves, horses, a donkey and a bull who don't take well to strange dogs.
There are a few places you may choose to camp and the spacious room allows privacy if you wish to have early nights/early mornings and not be too close to others.
We don't allow party groups/parties due to the courtesy of other campers and we do ask that you remember; this is a farm not a caravan park, there are cattle and horses.
We can provide potable water for campers staying more than a few days, or travelling on the road. You will require appropriate water jerry cans/drums or we can fill your tanks up directly from the shed.
In the warmer months you can sleep with windows, doors and hatch's open in the tranquil country setting. Your caravan is not visible from the road, or accessible without passing the main residence if you wish to tour around our beautiful town and outlying area's.
We're less than a ten minute drive from Kmart / Coles / Woolworths, although when you're here you would never know! There is so much to see in and around Toowoomba and the Darling Down's, from coffee shops, mural walks, bike paths through the beautiful parks and much more.
We don't accept check in's after dark, so if you are going to be late please contact us with the mobile number provided within 24 hours prior to check in.

If water sports are your thing , a scenic 30 minute drive takes you to the Lesley Harrison Dam 1 hour drive takes to to Stanthorpe and the Wineries Breweries and Distilleries.

This property runs cattle and two horses, we also seem to accommodate neighbours goats when they escape their own property. We have an abundance of birdlife, a few hares and the occasional mob of kangaroos like to thunder through the property at dawn and dusk.
Free firewood can be collected around the property and firepits are available. Campfires are subject to authority fire bans.
Day visitors for fossicking/prospecting must book through Hipcamp for insurance reasons.

Sites are set close to the natural waterway under the gum trees. You can throw a yabby pot in our dam to catch a few for dinner- except when the dam is dry.
Windy Acres Farm is close enough to Toowoomba to explore the region or perfect for a stop over along the Gore Highway.
Not suitable in wet weather. Guests must be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.

We really enjoyed camping at Currugundi Ridge. It was very quiet (it's a single site so if isolation is your idea of paradise this is ideal). Site was easy to find and while the access road is a little gnarly, it was easy enough for out little FWD hatchback to make it, so no issues for most. Potable, hot water and a dedicated firepit make this an easy site for a few days away from it all, highly recommended.

Loved our stay! The kids had a blast riding the tractor around the bike track and feeding the animals. We grabbed a bucket load of timber, it was great quality and perfect for coals and campfire cooking.
Paul was fantastic, super responsive and really helpful throughout.

Paul and Kerry’s place was awesome.
We were on Hilltop which had beautiful views over the paddocks. Well maintained (very dry at the moment!) grass. No mud, which was great. Bring a jacket as it can be a bit windy - plenty of open sky for solar panels and Starlink.
Great spot for kids, we could see them wherever we were at camp due to the landscape.
Ample points to hook up to for potable water which was convenient.
Plenty of quality firewood for sale which was delivered by Paul by tractor much to the delight of the kids.
Special thank you to Paul who took the kids for a ride on the back of the tractor and to feed the sheep and “big red dog” and brought a box of board games to play. This was especially memorable for our 2.5 year old.
Our only regret is that we didn’t bring bikes to pedal about the property and that we didn’t stay longer!

This is a great place to stay. Plenty of room for groups of campers or caravans. The facilities are great with toilets and a hot shower available and also a lovely barn with tables and kitchen where guests can eat their meal with shelter from the outside weather.
The location is great. Just a short drive from Toowoomba and other small towns and local attractions. Or you can just stay at the farm and relax in the picturesque surroundings. The host is lovely and will ensure you have everything you need for your stay. Definitely worth a visit.

Had a great stay. Katrina, the host, was very helpful. We had a cloudless night and could do some Milky Way photography.
I couldn’t charge my car as the charger was dropping off needing more retrying!
Nicely maintained toilet and shower. Ample of space for having meals under roof at the Barn. They also have a Pool table! And Fire pits!
Eventually I got it charged to a decent level to continue trip. Other than that it was an excellent camping.

We live nearby, but LOVE Hip camping.. When we saw Curragundi, we were just flummoxed – the pictures looked fantastic…. – more like glamping than camping…. In Fact the reality is better…
Catherine has dry kindling and firewood (we had a lot, but used none of our own), a fire skillet, running potable water, hot showers, the bath is great and the outlook is superb… a beautiful old Lace Monitor (amongst others) even graced us with his presence… there’s enough sunshine for your solar panels and enough shade for your lunch.
This is a highly recommended experience and we are likely to be back for the next test of our camping gear...
