The camping grounds is private and picturesque in our back paddocks - looking back over our olive grove and out to the great dividing range. We have fire pits set up in the camp area - please bring an extinguisher, wood and matches. The camp grounds has an easy access and campers have had no issues levelling out on the gentle slope or go higher up the paddock to the trees and the ground is level with the best views of the mountain ranges. Olive View Farm is ideal for self sufficient campers. At the front of the property near the bus shop we have permanent picnic tables set up for anyone to use. Dogs on a lead are welcome - we have lots of Kangaroos and Wallabies and we want to protect them. We are always on site and happy to help with anything you need. *Please note any negative feedback for camping received was from a festival that took place on our property in 2022 and the event organisers promised the campers facilities and did not deliver. If you like an adventure then this mountain is for you. 2 sites called "Top of the world tent site 1 and tent site 2" are accessible by 4WD only (tent camping is advised) There is a step 19 degree road up to the penthouse summit thats at 1000ft. However if it is dry you can tow a camping trailer but only if you have a winch. If it rains the only way down is backwards tethered to trees via your winch. It's an adventure. Campers are welcome to have a campfire, there is plenty of timber on the ground that you can collect or bring your own. As long as there is no fire ban. There are some great bush walks you can enjoy, including down to the creek (about a 40 min walk). The creek is picturesque with lemon trees and peach trees along the edge while in season. There are 2 sites down at the creek called Firefly's and platypus and these are for off road self contained 4x4 campers and those with a tent. The creek is pristine and crystal clear unless it's raining. These 2 sites are absolutely private if you book them both. If you don't mind sharing the creek with another camper then you only need to book 1 site. There is also a 10 month of the year 30 metre high waterfall (depending on rain fall this waterfall can vary from massive water to slow water) and another seasonal waterfall. Don't forget the dam for swimming with the spa tub and fresh mountain spring water constantly flowing into it from an inch and a half poly pipe constantly overflowing into the dam. The water in the creek is safe to drink with no filter needed. The creek is running and crystal clear and very private. If you are in a 2 wheel drive RV/ Motorhome you can book the "Paw Paw hill site" or "a dam good view" There is one site that is all grass accessible in the dry weather. Plenty of drinking water is also available at all sites either via a tap or the creek running water. All campers MUST HAVE their own portable toilet. If no portable toilet you can purchase one from many camping stores at a reasonable price before coming. Doing number 2 in the bush is totally unacceptable. Because this is a leave no trace camp site we do ask you to take all trash with you when you leave as well. There is no council rubbish collection in this area. We respect our beautiful paradise and we know you will appreciate it also. If you make a fire please leave it so I can mow around it once you leave. E.G Please remove all sticks.

Magical Minyon Falls with its powerful and wonderful waterfalls and uninhabited valley is a must. Don't forget to go bushwalking while you are there. There are also other national parks like mount Jerusalem that are close by. The farm does have orchards and bee hives. Slashing and planting of vegetables will be happening soon everything is organic. If you would like to purchase some organic farm jam just let me know. The stone wall entrance was constructed at the turn of last century and you feel like you have stepped back in time as you imagine those who came across the area as they were amazed at what the area had to offer. Remember it is the Australian bush so there could be snakes just. as there is with all bush in Australia about depending on the time of the year. There is a first aid kit on the property. The local hospital is in Byron 15 minute drive away. A toilet is completed. We have had a celebrity stay for a weekend so you never know who you will see. There are celebrities that live in Federal so you may bump into one. Please do not show up to the property or surrounding areas without placing a booking and receiving directions. If you arrive without placing a booking, you will be turned away. Please use the directions sent to you after placing a booking to stay at this property. The site has a compact outdoor kitchen complete with refrigerator, an outdoor hot shower, a firepit and a separate composting toilet. Sails are rigged above the tent to provide extra shade and shelter. It's private and shady but only a few minutes from the house. The valley is a gem, only 200 odd people live here. If you love the outdoors - either just to chill or to actively recreate - this place is for you. As an outdoor educator, I have worked and played in the valley and surrounds for more than 25 years and I'm still discovering new things to see and do! Advancetown Lake is a short drive away with paddling, sailing and fishing and no power boats or jetskis (Yeeha!!) There is a mountain bike park on the E side of the dam. You can walk from here to Springbrook and Lamington National Parks and the glow worms at Natural Bridge are a night time "must see".

Magical Minyon Falls with its powerful and wonderful waterfalls and uninhabited valley is a must. Don't forget to go bushwalking while you are there. There are also other national parks like mount Jerusalem that are close by. The farm does have orchards and bee hives. Slashing and planting of vegetables will be happening soon everything is organic. If you would like to purchase some organic farm jam just let me know. The stone wall entrance was constructed at the turn of last century and you feel like you have stepped back in time as you imagine those who came across the area as they were amazed at what the area had to offer. Remember it is the Australian bush so there could be snakes just. as there is with all bush in Australia about depending on the time of the year. There is a first aid kit on the property. The local hospital is in Byron 15 minute drive away. A toilet is completed. We have had a celebrity stay for a weekend so you never know who you will see. There are celebrities that live in Federal so you may bump into one. Please do not show up to the property or surrounding areas without placing a booking and receiving directions. A beautiful piece of remnant forest on the bank of the Nerang River, with a swimming hole that is second to none. The tree tent is situated in a small forest clearing overlooking the river rapids. The site has a compact outdoor kitchen complete with refrigerator, an outdoor hot shower, a firepit and a separate composting toilet. Sails are rigged above the tent to provide extra shade and shelter. It's private and shady but only a few minutes from the house. The valley is a gem, only 200 odd people live here. If you love the outdoors - either just to chill or to actively recreate - this place is for you. As an outdoor educator, I have worked and played in the valley and surrounds for more than 25 years and I'm still discovering new things to see and do! Advancetown Lake is a short drive away with paddling, sailing and fishing and no power boats or jetskis (Yeeha!!) There is a mountain bike park on the E side of the dam. You can walk from here to Springbrook and Lamington National Parks and the glow worms at Natural Bridge are a night time "must see".

1 night at Belmont Base Camp

This camp close to motorway which was great for us to get our running around done. It is a large grassy block with a lovely breeze. The block is utilised to store some other vans but we were the only campers at the time. We really appreciated the early check in and late check out. Having access to power and water made it a great spot to recharge before we continued on our way. Most places we looked at in Brisbane had a minimum 2 -3 night stay and at least twice the price.

Weekend Trip to Jotoludy,

We had the most wonderful stay at Jotoludy, it was the perfect introduction to camping for our young family (with children under 5). As first-time campers, we couldn’t have asked for a better setup. The large shelter with tables and seating was very convenient as well as having access to power, a fridge, and sinks gave us peace of mind while still letting us enjoy the camping experience. The site is private, so we didn’t have to worry about other campers, which made us feel safe and relaxed. It’s very spacious, beautifully maintained, and perfect for stargazing, kicking a soccer ball, and sending our 4 year old off on little nature treasure hunts. There was plenty of space to choose where to set up our tent, which was a big bonus. Although it was ideal for a small family’s first camping trip, we could also see it being a fantastic spot for larger groups or celebrations. The creek was lovely too. We had no trouble accessing it, though it might be a little tricky for less mobile visitors as the path is narrow and steep. My 4 year old absolutely loved being woken up by the cows outside our tent, he thought it was hilarious. I didn’t get to meet the hosts initially as we were running so far behind schedule we missed them, but my partner had a chat with them on the way out and said Katrina was lovely. Overall, it was an incredible first time camping experience that we’ll treasure and would highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Eagles Nest Hideaway, Pecan Fields

Pecan waterhole was a beautiful campsite. Lots of firewood around and easy to collect. The creek was lovely to cool off in the hot weather. We enjoyed paddling the kayaks and exploring the shallow rocky areas. We were lucky enough to see 3 platypus! A very special experience. The directions provided were clear. We found our site easily. The toilet was well equipped. It handled the busy campsite over the long weekend quite well. The sites are large and quite well separated, so we weren’t too close to our neighbours. It was a full moon during our trip - so beautiful to see the pecan trees lit up in the moonlight! The green leafy outlook and the gentle sound of the creek flowing made this a really special experience. Thanks for sharing your beautiful part of the world with us, Robyn! :)

Weekend Trip to Top of the World

Alan is an enthusiastic hose that was very welcoming upon our arrival. He took us out to the site and made sure everything was addressed and we had the info to ensure our stay was positive. This site is a great example of someone putting in the time to make is a positive experience. The campsite was large, grassed and mowed, the track in was definitely more suitable for a 4x4 and in the wet it would be fairly demanding even if not towing a van. As it was dry we had no issues. The small creek nearby was nice, it was good to explore and check out the three stage waterfall. The kids had fun in the upper section playing around. We walked to the Top of the World campsite and it was also a cracking spot. If you want a very quiet, to peaceful totally off grid experience this is a great spot to go to. It's not far from Kyogle which has fuel and an IGA if you forget anything. All up, I'd come back again. It's good value and I appreciate Alan sharing his land with the public. It's a great spot. Beautiful spot and super lovely host. It was a long weekend and there were other campers there but we had a lot of privacy. The owner helped us find a flat spot for our van and allowed us to collect firewood from around the property (there is lots around!) Our dog loved swimming in the river (a bit of an adventure to get down to it but so worth it- just maybe don’t attempt after a rain). We loved soaking in the serenity and watching the stars.

The small, quiet town was so pretty and charming. It was convenient too — just a few minutes’ walk to a local pub for a meal and a grocery store nearby. The campground’s toilets and showers were clean and well-maintained. It was nice to find such a peaceful place close to Brisbane where we could relax and spend a comfortable night.
