Site 1 - Paddock Camp
Woof Woof!
Friendly farm animals and a polite host welcomed our arrival at Chookhouse Farmstay. The unpowered sites are fairly flat and level and well grassed. The amenities are basic as advertised so we didn't bring our full set up. Our family is used to basic camping however none of us felt comfortable using the shower so went without for the stay. When busy the sites would be quite squishy IMO, kinda going against the Hipcamp vibe we've experienced. There is a busy road very close to the sites that can get noisy and a rented house located next to the sites. There are large dogs in this house and they bark. A lot. Permanent vans are also on-site giving a 90's caravan park feel. The skies are vast, expanding views over the plains suit stargazing should you not be able to sleep. Minor ambient light to the west provided us with a nice Milky Way.

Overpriced for what it is.
The pictures were nothing like the place. The top paddock sites are right next to a fairly busy road so cars we driving past all day and a fair bit of the night. Long drop toilet was pretty rough and the shower was pretty much unusable in July when we were there. Bloke running it was a nice guy.

Great spot for a stop over. Hosts really nice and heaps of animals that the kids loved to watch and interact with. Shower chilly but good to have that and the toilet was handy

Lovely secluded location, and close to Toowoomba city. The shower facilities weren’t great, appeared to not have been cleaned in a while, we didn’t use it. The toilets are drop toilets, but no awful smell (in winter). We took our dog, however it must have unsettled the many dogs which were next door as they barked a lot while we were there. Rob was an incredibly hospitable host. The animals at the farm stay are so well looked after and our toddler loved the feeding experience, especially the guardian dog Boo Boo.
