CHECK IN TIMES 10am to 12pm Closed for lunch 2pm to 5.30 (NB: no late check ins) Check out times. 10 am - unless advised. The Chookhouse is situated approximately 20 minutes south of Toowoomba on 23 acres. Please note that there are other dogs and animals long our road. We also have grain trains that pass by throughout the day and night. When you are travelling on Shepperd Road look for our "Chookhouse Farm" sign and a chook mailbox, that is the driveway you need to take. LONG TERM RENTALS We can also accommodate long term rentals. Please contact us for further information. If possible, we would prefer. self-contained set ups; however not essential. AMENITIES Uni-sex amenity block with hot water and flushing toilets for those booked in Pepperina. Top Paddock power, Top Paddock unpowered and Paddock Camp we have gas showers (preset temperature for the safety of children). It will not be a hot shower like you have at home, however you will get clean. There are also pit toilets in the camp areas. In each camp area we have 3 x rubbish bins. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT HAVE DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE. WE DO NOT HAVE WATER TO FILL YOUR CARAVAN. Plenty of room for self-contained caravans/motorhomes and places to pitch a tent or camper. National Parks, walking trails, Wineries, Gourmet Pubs and Restaurants, Markets, two magnificent parks with play areas for children and so many other points of interest to see and discover. So many animals here! You get to meet camels, cows, pigs, alpacas, Boer goats Dorper Sheep, a multitude of chickens, geese, peacocks and guinea fowl. Miss Piggy loves posing for the camera. Sit under the stars and toast your marshmallows by your fire pit. Safe place to leave your gear while out exploring the Darling Downs and surrounds. Being in a rural area we have strict guidelines for campfires. We follow all Local Government guidelines and the QFS. No blazing fires, all fires to be extinguished at night, no coals or ash to be left under trees or on the grass. We will pick up each morning coals and ash if required. A great farmstay
The whole family loved it, animals galore, friendly as, convenient you name it. At first a little concerned as the site was a little close to the road but there was no traffic whatsoever. Would go again, thanks for the stay!

Enjoyed our 2 night stay, friendly welcome, nice grassed area close to amenities. Wonderful farm tour, history of the farm was interesting and great to help feed the animals. Sunsets were amazing! Would recommend!

We enjoyed the farm stay and the kids loved the animals. The guided tour through the farm and extra information on the animals was really interesting. Top camp had really nice grass for the kids to kid a ball or ride bikes. Had a camp fire each night too. Thanks again…..hosts were lovely.

Fantastic place, you really feel like you are in the country. Great owners are very welcoming. Loved the mix of animals - Camels, Sheep, Alpacas, Cows, chooks etc. Will definitely be back.

Camping with animals!
We had such a wonderful time! We took our kids and 4-legged and they loved the place, especially the playground near the campsite. Lovely animals, and the hosts were super friendly. Definitely recommend it for a quick farmscape near Brisbane.

Kids enjoyed the animals.
We did enjoy our time there. Unfortunately being so close to the road and with little kids the noises were too loud for them with the large trucks and the trains. Kids loved feeding the animals and running around.

We loved everything about the chookfarm stay! Rob, Jen and Micheal and the other farm staffers could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The farm had all the amenities and of course the opportunity to see the animals. Close to town but far enough out to enjoy country peace. Great place.

Beautiful Farm stay 🤩
Jennie was EXTREMELY helpful from the start with organising my stay here, the communication was amazing! Soon arrival we met Michael who was also amazing….so accomodating to your needs and super chatty. The amenities were spotless for a bush camp location and cleaned daily. Not to mention all the beautiful animals 🥰 (camels, cows, geese, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs and lamas) got a beautiful wake up call each morning from the rooster which was pretty cool in comparison to the usual alarm 😂. All age friendly and for the kids they do 4pm animal feeding, with a little history about the place for the adults. Thankyou again Chookhouse we will be back!

Site 9 - Paddock Camp
I took my grandchildren and they had a fabulous time. Feeding the animals was a real highlight. The grassy campground was beautifully maintained. Michael did a great job hosting the animal feeding.
