Our amenity buildings have undertaken a fresh makeover which now provides state of the art washing machines and dryers with tap and go payment options - no need for coins. A vending machine for that late afternoon or evening snack, immaculately clean bathrooms and a camp kitchen with shared facilities for those campers who like to do their own thing.
Our Food & Beverage van is now open and offers a variety of food choices. Open daily from 12pm to 8.00pm (season dependent) we invite our guests and locals to come and enjoy our beautiful park setting.
With a multitude of accommodation options for the most discerning guest, Daintree Beach Resort is becoming the destination, not just a place to stay.

15km or 20 minutes from Cairns City Centre and 10 minutes from Coles or Woolies in either direction. (Please note Gordonvale Woolies is closed on Sundays, Mount Sheridan shopping centre has Kmart, Coles and Woolies).
A cane train line runs across the front of the property so during cane season the trains come past a few times during the day and night. They can be noisy but are fairly quick.

Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Bird watchers dream with the constant residents and seasonal birds flying in for the dam. Swim, kayak, catch and release fish, throw in a RedClaw pot or hunt for mussel clams. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks.
Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo.
We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.

A beautiful 160 acre paddock that you can enjoy.
Cleared slashed areas beside the river. Enjoy a river swim to cool you down during summer and go for a cold dip during winter. River is also good for fishing during the right season. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track.
Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is very limited mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude}
Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway.
Sites are private separated from each other, some sites suit clothing optional guests
Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough.
There are walking areas at rear of property. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs.

Three spacious spots are available a few short meters from the edge of a large dam (sites can be seen from the farm road) with another completely secluded site amongst the bushland. Do some hiking or 4 wheel driving around the hundred acres with our 4 wheel driving tracks.
Meet the Farm Animals where campers can chat with the menagerie of animals we have on the farm such as Clydesdale horses, camels, sheep, cows, chickens, buffalo, peafowl, ducks and friendly geese. Hold newly hatched poultry, friendly chickens and maybe even lambs. Bookings are essential come by the farmhouse and meet at the gazebo.
We are 10mins from Dimbulah or 20mins to Mareeba with their many attractions. We can tell you all about the many attractions and activities this area has to offer.
Please Note: Cattle Creek and Waterfront Campsites are accessible by 2WD. The other campsites are 4WD access only and with off road campers/caravans only (high clearance to get through a dry creek crossing). These are self contained sites so please take your own shower and toilet facilities and take away all waste. Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times for the protection of the sheep, poultry, wildlife and not to be brought to the house yard. Sorry no motorbikes or ATV’s.

Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway.
Sites are private separated from each other, some sites suit clothing optional guests

Absolute hidden gem, Kris and Emma are the best hosts, so accomodating and friendly. They helped us with some local knowledge and made sure we were all set up and comfortable during our stay. We came during some heavy rain and they were more than happy for us to drive into their barn and stay in there so we had some cover for our stay. We were only supposed to stay one night but ended up staying 3. So central to everything you could need and lots of amazing things to see around here. Would 100000% recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay here. Dean is an incredibly kind and welcoming host—he greeted us at the gate, showed us around the campground, and shared lots of helpful local advice. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the bathrooms were spotless and well maintained. The campground has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and being able to take a refreshing dip in the creek was a real highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-run camping experience.

We loved this camp, we parked our van on green grass in the tropical fruit orchard. We were right nxt to the rainforest and a beautiful creek. There was also a waterfall with a big swimming hole 45 min walk. We were pleasantly surprised to find body boards and pool noodles when we got there. The walk was easy with just a few up-hill spots.
The communication was good and the directions were easy to follow. Our dog loved the place too and didn't want to get in the car to leave.
One of my favourite spots after doing 3 laps in 5 years.

As part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, Mowbray’s landscape has wetlands, open eucalypt forests, and mangrove forests. An important wildlife corridor, the park also functions as a home for endangered southern cassowaries. Take in views of Black Mountain and Big Mowbray Falls. Then, head nearby to private tent and caravan campsites with flush toilets, hot showers, wifi, and communal firepits.
Mount Lewis National Park
Mount Lewis National Park is a paradise for unique wildlife amid beautiful upland rainforests and waterways. While many mountains in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area are inaccessible to the public, Mount Lewis features a scenic drive, climbing to an elevation of over 1,200 metres. Walking and biking tracks as well as 4WD roads throughout the park allow for exploration of the dense forest systems, geological structures, and waterways, like the Mossman and Mitchell Rivers. Tent and vehicle campsites are readily available nearby with pit toilets, potable water, and campfire space.
Daintree National Park
Also known as Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land, Daintree National Park is split into two distinct areas. Mossman Gorge comprises the rugged slopes and mountain ranges of Main Coast Range and Windsor and Carbine tablelands, which feed Daintree and Mossman Rivers. Cape Tribulation runs from Bloomfield River to Daintree River and is best known as the site of the Wet Tropics and Great Barrier Reef World Heritage areas. Don’t miss Mossman Gorge, Myall Beach, Kulki, and Mount Alexandra. Then, pitch a tent or park the campervan on-site campsites, or head out of the park for unique farm stays and other lodging options that provide private, peaceful space along with flush toilets, hot showers, and electrical hookups.
When to go
Peak tourist seasons in Bonnie Doon generally happen in fall and spring, providing a balance of warm temperatures, little precipitation, and low humidity. December is the warmest month with an average high of 34°C. However, the area is tropical and largely temperate year-round. The coldest month is June with an average temperature of 21°C. June and July are ideal times for whale watching as humpback whales migrate north through the Great Barrier Reef.
