There are many state forests and national parks nearby to explore. 20 minutes to Rosedale, 30 minutes to Norval park Beach where you can 4WD during the winter months and see turtles nesting October to March, 20 minutes to Baffle Creek southern boat ramp at Winfield, or 40 minutes to Baffle Creek, 45 minutes to Bundaberg. 1 hour to Agnes Water. 2 hours to Hervey Bay. 5 hours to Brisbane. Guests are required to be fully self-contained with their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Free firewood, collect as much as you need from around the property. We have a small apiary, and our happy bees enjoy the tree blossoms way up in the treetops. Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

If you are after a quiet serine getaway on 40 acres, this property is for you. You are 4 minutes by car to Rules Beach where you can drive your 4WD with no permit necessary. You are 2 minutes to Baffle Creek Boat Ramp / Creek where fishing is great. You can Hire a boat from us ( boat license required) or a paddle board on the calm waters of the Creek. We have a filleting table and abundant water to wash vehicles. A Tavern, small convenience store and takeaway food is 10 minutes away at Baffle Creek Town. Turtle nesting on Rules Beach from November to March. Abundant bird life, wildlife and kangaroos. Close to the Historic town of 1770. We are off the Grid with 12v power, although there is a generator if you require to use the 240v. We have over a hundred mango trees and a couple of dams. Apart from the cabin, that has facilities and is fully self contained., if you want to camp you must be fully safe contained. We can also a small Jack-off camper that is also available to hire. There are walking tracks on the property.. Please do not leave pets alone in cabin. FREE Firewood Tours are available.

Dragon fruit gardens. We produce fruit from November until May. We have over 100 different varieties of dragon fruit, with each one having different foliage characteristics and tastes, like watermelon, lime, coconut, lychee and more. Half of our 3.7 Acres is farm forestry that we are building a syntropic farm in. We are 5km from the beach, 4.5 km from the nearest supermarket and 13km from 1770 headland. 12km to the north we have Eurimbula National Park where you can explore middle creek and Eurimbula creek. 8km to the South we have Deep-Water National Park, where you can discover by 4wd some amazing uncrowded beaches. Close by we have Agnes Water main beach, Workman’s beach, Chinamans beach and Springs beach to explore. 1770 headland offers a short walk with an amazing view. Every second Sunday at the 1770 rotary park we have a local market which is a great place to pick up fresh fruit and veg. Agnes water and 1770 has that small town feel and slowed-down pace with lots of friendly locals making it a great place to explore, take a deep breath and relax. We do not provide power, water or toilet this is for off grid campers only.

Situated 45 minutes drive from Bundaberg, our 320 acre property has a small goat farm and 270 acres of bushland to explore. Take a walk through the trails or follow along the dry creek bed (seasonal). There are plenty of kangaroo, bandicoots, goannas, water dragons, koalas, and varieties of bird life to catch a glimpse of. We back on to Littabella national park where there is more to discover. There are 4WD tracks through Littabella National Park, take a half day adventure through the track to Rosedale pub for lunch and come home, making a complete circle. Trail bikes may be driven through the national park. We are close to Baffle Creek for excellent fishing. There is an annual family fishing festival in September. Or try Lake Monduran about a half hour drive where there is great fishing, kayaking and swimming. There are many state forests and national parks nearby to explore. 20 minutes to Rosedale, 30 minutes to Norval park Beach where you can 4WD during the winter months and see turtles nesting October to March, 20 minutes to Baffle Creek southern boat ramp at Winfield, or 40 minutes to Baffle Creek, 45 minutes to Bundaberg. 1 hour to Agnes Water. 2 hours to Hervey Bay. 5 hours to Brisbane. Guests are required to be fully self-contained with their own shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Free firewood, collect as much as you need from around the property. We have a small apiary, and our happy bees enjoy the tree blossoms way up in the treetops. They do produce plenty of yummy honey, so ask if we have any available.

Kolan Retreat was awesome. We stayed for 3 nights there and wished it was longer. Peter was an awesome host. He was good with communication. He was a busy man but when you ask for anything he would be there within minutes. Toilets was always clean and the shower was a bonus. Most unpowered camp sites you go to would only let you have cold showers but at Kolan Retreat. You are looked after. The campgrounds are very clean and flat. And felt very private. If you don’t like crowded camp sites then Kolan retreat is your go to. The Fishing and Crabbing is bloody good. Good catch. Was awesome to see the cows walk around and Will definitely be going back there in the future.

Kolan River retreat is a wonderful place to stay and it’s very obvious the effort the owners have put into this property to make it very comfortable and convenient for campers. The facilities are fantastic, hot water showers and pump toilets which are so clean and well maintained. Boat ramp access is a bonus and the wildlife is abundant. Plenty of room in between camps and campfires are allowed. Our dog had a ball hanging out with the friendliest cows. We will be back for sure. Thank you Peter and Melinda for our stay.

We had the best time at our campsite. So many bird species and loved the cattle. We had plenty of space for our 2 vehicles and a lovely view of both the land and sea. We took a brief stroll down to the fishing area which is small but lovely. Take not though the sand flies are ferocious so put bug spray on first. Also spotted an Emu and a beautiful red belly snake, which we didn’t disturb. Rules is so close to plenty of fishing and also the beach. Definitely coming back. Thanks again Camille for your help and for answering my many questions 🤩

My partner and I loved camping on the river here with our 2 dogs. Peter was an absolute champion from the moment we met him. Showers and toilets are very clean. Great boat ramp aswell. Grassy clean sites with fire pits provided, cows roam the paddock and are so friendly. We will defiantly be back.

Nice quiet spot. Well maintained with green grass everywhere. We were unlucky and missed out on the nicer part of the property because of the heavy rain earlier, but Phil still come through with a good spot where it was dry without being stuck just anywhere. Would recommend

Korner’s Bush Escape is beautiful, Phillip has site located in beautiful locations ensuring privacy, shade and close to water. He was the perfect host, helpful but not intrusive. It is a little further from 1770 than I anticipated but it’s a lovely drive, the 4x4 track is fantastic with secluded beaches. Loved our stay.
