Damien and Charly’s property is incredible. We had a short stay at the private canyon view site and the view and amenities were some of the best we’ve ever experienced at a camp site.

5 nights at Willa Willa Park

The kids absolutely loved the farm, the animals and the whole experience. They cant wait to visit again. Darren is a wonderful host, the water tank ran dry in the cabin and he was onsite in minutes to help fix the issue. So nice being able to tent camp with nobody but the birds & animals for company, but also having a lovely kitchen & bathroom on hand as well. Will be back!

Weekend Trip to Fame Mountain Camp - pets welcome

Recommend!! Spent 3 nights at Fame Mountain and had an amazing time. I expected a big spot, but I was impressed with the size of it. Amenities were great, and our hosts were super attentive to our needs. We had the best sunset view on arrival, and got beautiful skies at night. If camping on tents, I recommend keeping an eye on the forecast for strong winds. There was plenty of wood to chop too. Mei and Jon, thank you for sharing a bit of your beautiful place with us!

Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley

We had a fantastic weekend camping at *Cranky Rock*! The campsites are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, giving you plenty of room and privacy from other campers. The toilets were clean and conveniently located throughout the property. While the shower wasn’t accessible during our stay, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the grounds. We loved the friendly cows and their calves, and even spotted a sleepy wombat. Another big plus is the location — only 10 minutes from Wollombi Tavern, which is perfect for an arvo beer or a meal out. A special thank you to Pam and Lindsay, who were both incredibly friendly and welcoming. They greeted us on arrival and kindly guided us to our site, making everything easy and stress-free. Would absolutely recommend Cranky Rock to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-kept camping spot. Thanks again for a lovely weekend!

The view at the site was beautiful and specially around sunset, we managed to have a nice hot bath which was so nice under the stars. The toilet and shower were very clean and easy to use, will definitely come back in the future. Charly was very friendly and helpful, always responded fast, highly recommended.

Weekend Trip to NSW Ski Gardens

Camped at one of the powered spots near the river, it was well maintained and the campground itself had really good facilities. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The campground itself has really good resources such as a little canteen, bathrooms with showers and firewood available. I intend on going back and would recommend Ski Gardens as a great place to camp

1 night at Fern Valley Ranch

It was my pleasure to camp at Fern Valley Ranch. I was alone, however I had warm welcome and hand on guidance upon my arrival. So I felt safe to enjoy camping. Only an hour drive from northern beaches of Sydney, celestial Australian environment is there. Highly recommended to anyone including foreigners.

1 night at Bunyip's Camp

Lisa’s land was like a lovely green oasis. Quite beautiful really. Reasonably flat grassy areas. Would be great for a group or just on your own. Maybe a bit expensive considering there is no water or electricity to hook up to. We unfortunately were there during the floods that impacted NSW. So ground was a bit boggy in places. Other than that, a lovely quiet oasis to stay overnight in.

Weekend Trip to Fern Valley Ranch

Loved the place and camping amongst the orchards!! Plenty of grounds for kids to roam free and neighbouring sites were far away enough to keep noise to a minimum. A short 10 min walk to the waterfall with bush walks nearby. Toilets and shower available on site however two toilets were out of order which was challenging for our site. Shops are only a 10 min drive away for any forgotten supplies.

The ground is amazing! Lots of space, with different farm animals and citrus plants that you can pick to eat. Went with friends this time, will definitely come back with my boy next time. Only downside is the limited toilet. There’s only 1 toilet with combined shower for a big camp ground. There’re 2 toilets near my allocated campsite, but they were out of order. Lucky it wasn’t too busy. Else it would be a disaster.

The Tomaree Peninsula has 26 beaches with numerous walking trails, including the recently upgraded Tomaree Coastal Walk and plenty of water activities including Dolphin and Whale watching cruises, diving, surfing, kayaking, fishing and snorkelling. Nelson Bay is the main tourist centre with plenty of restaurants and cafes and there are more clubs and food options dotted around the peninsula.

The historic village of Wollombi is only 25 minutes away, and has cafes, shop, museum and the Wollombi Tavern. The popular Broke and Pokolbin wine regions are a short 25-40 minute drive away in the opposite direction. Yengo National Park has some wonderful look out spots-great to drive to Finchley lookout to watch the sun set or check out Aboriginal art sites. The Branch River Retreat

Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. We are located on a wide river estuary, offering sites in open paddocks, secluded among trees and beside dams. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Local groceries can be sourced from Karuah and Stroud. Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.

Nestled under the Watagan mountains escarpment in the Hunter valley, the property has some amazing views in all directions, but still remains secluded and hidden from view. The property has been selectively cleared to maintain a balance of open land and untouched bushland which has a boundary to the Watagans National Park. The animal life is very diverse as many species transition from the Watagans into the property and many live on site full time. These include flocks of amazing bird species such as Gang gang and Black Cockatoos, resident Wedge tailed eagles, Kookaburras, finches, honey eaters, Coucals, Lyrebirds and more. Wallabies of various types are common, and Sugar gliders can be seen on the flowering Eucalypts. The camping areas for RV's sit on a large elevated flat area that border a large gorge with broken views towards the Hunter Valley vineyards. The Gorge (or Canyon) is rimmed by caves and has rainforest type trees in the bottom. The caves can be explored and the rainforest can be walked if you are fit! The tent and camper trailer areas are terraced into an area of slight slope with a number of sites to chose from. Non potable water taps are available at each caravan site and at intervals in the camping area. This water is clear fresh dam or bore water and can be used for showers, washing up etc. Two flush toilets are available for use by both RV's and campers. There is a central fire pit. We have a private site which has open views over the Hunter Valley to the Vineyards and beyond to the Barrington tops. This site has a cliff edge pool that comfortably fits up to 4 people for a dip. This area has a large fire pit that can be used to heat the pool in winter. This site has its own flushing toilet and Shower. This site is best suited to a caravan as it is terraced, though it would be possible to setup tents or a camper van in this location also. This can also be booked as a group site. 16minutes to Cessnock, 25minutes to the M1, 2.25 hours to Sydney central and 25 minutes to Pokolbin. The location is generally very peaceful with all sorts of wildlife. There is plenty of ground sticks for fire wood and bulk timber for purchase. There are 2 dams that can be fished on request (catch and release cod and bass)

The logs will need to be split as required. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied and are stored in the firewood storage shed. Every site has a fire pit. Hot showers and clean, decent toilets. Good mobile signal for Telstra and Optus networks. Two Communal Fridges and a cold communal spa. There is lots of space for campers so you will have privacy whilst you enjoy your camping adventure. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. Good fishing. Pretty much everywhere you can wet a line. Prawns are best bait. If your dog is on the government list of restricted breeds or on the dangerous dog list please leave at home We have a gentle, well trained old German Shepherd who adores kids but after being bitten by another dog, now prefers to stay inside the house and not visit the camp sites. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. The reason being if you are a large group turning up late, you will ruin the camping experience of other campers who got there earlier to watch the sunset and just chill. Furthermore, the sunsets are one of the reasons people come here. Every single day it is totally different. If you arrive late you have missed it.... 5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a slope. We do have several flat areas for tents , hybrids, camper vans and small caravans. And we have 6 levelling blocks scattered across the sites. Dead flat is a concrete slab at any caravan park anywhere but not here.

There is no traffic noise: all you will hear is the sound of the bush! The campsite borders Watagan National Park and guests can access the park directly through our back gate for bushwalking activities. Our farm itself includes walking trails, a dam and plenty of native wildlife, including birds, wombats, wallabies, echidnas and reptiles. We are devoted to horses and care for a diverse herd that includes some rescue brumbies and other beautiful equines you may meet on your walks. The closest cafe (Bistro Eden, a popular spot for coffee and food) is 15 minutes drive, and the closest Coles/Woolworths is 20 minutes drive away at Morisset. The Hunter Valley is an easy 1 hour drive away, with many wineries and restaurants to choose from. Fishing activities in Dora Creek or Lake Macquarie (15 - 20 minutes drive) are a popular pastime, as are beaches activities (45 minutes drive away).

The historical town of Stroud is only 10 or so minutes away if you need supplies. Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away. Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels. While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets. Unfortunately we no longer have parties, including 18ths, 21sts etc.
