Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere.Your own private spot on the Hunter River! Enjoy your own exclusive campsite at Rosebrook River Camp, with direct access to the Hunter River and no other campers sharing your spot. With no roads or traffic noise to spoil the serenity, it’s the perfect place to unwind. The river offers a sandy beach, swimming holes and peaceful kayaking, depending on river levels during your stay. Bring your own kayak or hire one of ours for a small fee. For a little adventure, we can drive you to our drop-off point at Luskintyre for a leisurely paddle downstream to your campsite. Allow around three hours, depending on river conditions, with places to stop for lunch and a swim along the way. We’ve kept things simple and natural: a true bush camp with plenty of space, privacy and no fuss. Whether you’re here for fishing, a quiet weekend or time to switch off, we’d love to welcome you. Vehicle access: The campsite is a level, grassy, drive-through area. Access is suitable for 2WD vehicles when not towing. A 4WD is recommended for caravans and camper trailers. Please read our access rules before booking. Coming and going: Access is past our house, so we ask guests to keep trips in and out to a minimum during their stay. Toilet: You must bring your own toilet. Pets: Pets are welcome. Please respect our neighbours and their livestock. Rubbish: A garbage bin and recycling bin are provided. Campfires: A designated fire area is available when conditions permit. Firewood can be supplied for a small fee. Extras: Kayak hire, firewood and our fresh free-range Bilimari Bumnut eggs are available to add to your booking. Please treat the property with care and leave your campsite as you found it, so the next guests can enjoy it too.

We loved camping at Micks place. The site was super private and even though you were so close to everything you felt miles away. Mick was a wonderful host helping us get out of a sticky situation on our first Caravan towing experience. He was so kind and helpful. Will definitely put this site on our rotation of easy places to duck to for a weekend. I would definitely bring a fishing rod next time.

Second time at Rosebrook River Camp and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed serenity and the camp site all to myself. Mick keeps the campsite and river access well mowed and provided a very generous amount of firewood which was great value and made for a cracking fire on the cold winter nights. Fantastic spot right on the river!

Absolutely loved the night at Micks place. Quiet and undisturbed, amazing sunset and perfect night. Great spot to unwind and do a factory reset with a fire and my cattle dog with me. Will definitely be going again. Thanks also for the jump start of my old Land Rover.

We loved our few days at Mick’s spot. The privacy, location and access to the river are outstanding. We loved waking up to the cows chomping the grass in the paddock behind us. We travelled with our two dogs who loved all the smells they found and our year loving dog loved the river!

Great host and a great area to just chill for a few days. Fantastic firepit, wood - and Mick provided some eggs - which we used to make pancakes the next morning! Recommend this site to those who just want to get away from the hustle of Sydney. Thanks Mick!

We had such an amazing stay! It was our first getaway with the dogs and it was such a beautiful spot. You have the whole site to yourself and felt very private. It was nice easy walk down to the river and have a swim. Mick is super friendly and helpful, and great communication. We all loved it and can't wait to get back!

Overall had a great weekend. Campground was close to the river and grassy. Dogs had a wonderful time paddling in the river and running along the sandbars, as the river was quite low. Host very welcoming. One negative - it was quite windy with no protection from trees, so also no shade.

Had a great stay at Mick’s place. Awesome setting with easy access to the river and all to yourself. My dogs loved it. The cows and their calves were entertaining to watch while having a cuppa! It was lovely to meet Mick. He is an excellent host, friendly and great communicator. Made us feel very welcome. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful, well maintained area close to the river. Stunning views and very close to cows which are amazing to watch. Mick was very kind and a wonderful host. We hired the kayaks and whilst the river was too low, we still had a great time. Will be back!

Had an an amazing time camping at Rose Brook river camp. Would highly recommend this site for anyone wanting a bush get away but with the option of popping to town if needed as Maitland was only a 20 minute drive. The site was easy to get to. Mick (our host) was more than accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for him. The site was freshly mowed and well maintained. The river was right near by and a welcome relief from the weather. The kids loved seeing all the wild life around, especially the pelicans that would fly by every night and the cows greeting us in the morning.
