Access:
The driveway to the property is long and steep. A 4WD/AWD is required.
The Site:
The campsite has its own access and is surrounded by garden and bush with abundant wildlife. There are two dams nearby one of which has two kayaks for you to use and you can go for beautiful walks to explore the surrounding conservation bush land. A camping toilet with a small tent around is provided by us.
The host’s house is a 5 minute walk away from the tent on the same property but cannot be seen or heard. While we are always available for questions and anything you need, we also value our privacy and will respect yours.
Kids:
Babies and kids are more than welcome! We can provide a portacot, a baby bath, high chair and baby or kids toys upon request and if there is anything else you need to make your stay easier or more comfortable just let us know.
Animal companions:
- Dogs and other small animal companions are more than welcome but please let us know about your dogs size, age, breed and behaviour when booking.

We loved camping here. Toby is really nice and helpful and provides with all the information you need. Camping spots are spacious with a fireplace and bush toilet. You’re surrounded by nature, goats and a lovely friendly wallaby roaming around. Nice tracks to explore that takes you down to a peaceful creek with swimming holes and waterfalls.

We had a great stay at Bonneydoon! The views from the campsite were beautiful and our pup had a great time running around the paddock. It was a very beautiful spot and easy to access with a 2wd. There were some lovely bushwalks and dams on the property. The Big Sherman was our favourite and the 1000 year old fig tree was certainly impressive, although the trail was a bit up and down. Just keep an eye out for leeches, especially on your furry friends. The surrounding campsites weren't booked so we had plenty of space to ourselves which was nice, otherwise there isn't really anything separating them. The compost toilets and showers were fine. There were toilets close to the campsite, but the showers quite a walk so we ended up driving. Thanks Nick and Jane for sharing your beautiful property!

Beautiful lush spot by the creek, very green. Lovely peaceful vibe, popular with kangaroos. Host Andy gave us a friendly wave while doing his farm work. Directions are clear, but if you reach the "Private Property" sign, you've gone too far (and the neighbour wasn't too happy about it!)

Had a great stay. Plenty of walks and some stunning scenery. The view from the lookout was one of the best. Campsites 11 and 12 were well maintained with plenty of room for kids and dogs to run around. Clean drop toilets and hot solar shower. We were very impressed. Hope to come back again soon.

Absolutely incredible location. Everything about the tree house was made with comfort and pure relaxation. The kangaroos that visit you are so sweet and was the possum. Lizards and birds, just beautiful. Heather, you have made that Treehouse a home for any to come, right down to the cutlery and beautiful bedding. We loved our stay at Bonneydoon. The property is outstanding with plenty to do without even leaving the property if you don’t want to travel around the local points of interest. At the time of our 2 night stay, there was nobody else there so Nicholas said we can take our pick of sites even though we only paid for the cheapest camp site. Throw in the beautiful views, fantastic wildlife and great weather, we couldn’t fault this Hip Camp.

Peaceful and well maintained. As mentioned in the description there is little shade available. Nesting ducks on the creek and ducking's swimming around. Private road on the way is a little rough, but nothing a standard AWD or 4WD can't handle and it's only 500m or so.

Nicholas was great helping me pick the right site for a tent and two campervans. Nice and flat, loads of space and fantastic views. We had the whole place to ourselves. Access to a water tap and clean pit toilets close by. We didn’t use the showers or camp kitchen down the hill but seemed okay. Bit hot during the day - need to bring your own shade for this site but there are others under trees.
Steep downhill bush bash to see an amazing sunset from lookout, breathtaking sunrises to start the day and THE STARS - wow!! Delighted to see our first ever fireflies ✨ Got too dark to visit the big tree but good to save something for next visit.
On the more expensive side of the hipcamps we have stayed at but worth it for the views, walks, peace and serenity only 1.5 hours from Newcastle.

we were there for a long week end during school holidays and the way the sites are designed are very private and doesn't feel crowded. We are self sufficient but truly appreciated the clean facilities and environment. Our dog loved swimming in the dams.
