Beautiful drive in to property and lovely location with good amenities. Creek was easy to access and great to swim in. Close proximity to Port Macquarie. We had a lot of rain and were flooded in for half a day, which made the site a little slippery to get out of. Rick and Cheryl were extremely helpful and accomodating though!

We had a fabulous few days at Oxley Riverside camp. Huge sites and Bruce offered an upgrade to site 1 as he had had a cancellation. Lovely shady site by the river. River was very fast flowing because of all the rain but we still went in for a refreshing dip. Great access. Made friends with the neighbours donkeys. Close enough to “town” if you feel like a beer at the pub or pick up extra supplies. Compost toilets not too far and kept nice and clean. All in all a cracking campsite. Thanks Bruce!

Weekend Trip to Diamond Park Campsite

The camping at Catherine’s site was amazing! Both her and John were super accommodating and helpful with locating the site and managing the wet weather. The facilities were extremely clean (including the compost toilet) and added a level of luxury to the tent camping experience. We got to feed the sheep and deer as well as meet newly born twin lambs. Overall the site is very well maintained, easy to find, great location and super hosts. Would highly recommend!

Great spot to base yourself in Scotts Head and very well equipped for various set ups. The hot shower was amazing and we really enjoyed having a fire and making jaffles up by the big fire pit. Rufus is a super friendly pooch and adorably demanding about having his ball thrown!

Chrissie has thought of absolutely everything in this luxurious campsite. The amenities were beyond beautiful, we loved the Bali shower and the toilet was immaculately clean with everything provided. Every detail has been thought of in the kitchen space, from spare lanterns to bug repellant. The campsites are large and spacious allowing for flexibility in the type of set up and is surrounded by private fences and beautiful scenery. This place is private, beautiful and luxurious. Chrissie is beyond thoughtful, helpful and kind, even reaching out to see if we were okay with the rain. You can see the effort and passion put into every part of the place which I’m very grateful for. We would have stayed another night if there wasn’t a storm (which no one can control). Thank you again Chrissie for this incredible stay we hope to back again in the future!

Lovely and private, very peaceful and big space to explore! Hosts were very accomodating with our last minute booking. Definitely need a 4WD though if there has been any rain!

Rick and Cheryl's property was great to stay at. The kids loved feeding the animals. The sites are well spaced and there is plenty of room. Easy access to Port Macquarie and the toilet facilities were very clean and well presented. Access is easy, though in the wet accessing the back sites needed 4x4 as it was a little slippery especially towing. Would definitely visit again.

5 nights at Bundilla River Camp

A beautiful place by the river, with grassy green grass to camp on. A pleasant place with a great outlook to the hills with cattle in the paddocks. We stayed in late April at site 20, the only problem we had was the lack on sun as we were camping off grid. We got full sun at around 2.30. If you are camping off grid I would recommend booking sites from number 1. Mind you this would be different in the summer months. Overall Rick was more than accommodating with bringing firewood down and homemade muffins. Thanks Rick and Cathy for a great stay.

Great spot, seemed to have enough flat spots, cool things around the property. Definitely a fun spot with good views. Bathroom was clean and tidy with a view. Would be great to have some firewood available on the property but you can come prepared. Almost zero noise from highway too.

Lavender Hill is a 34 acre property on the outskirts of the historic town of Wingham. Since purchasing the property in 2021, we are developing permaculture gardens, a fruit orchard and a camping area with a small herb garden, where we lived in a caravan for 9 months. Lavender Hill is our home and we ask campers to respect our property and our neighbours. The converted hay shed provides an undercover area with a table and chairs. It is wheelchair accessible. A gas BBQ is available for an extra cost per night. Firewood is supplied at arrival and more can be purchased. Nearby, there is a composting toilet and hot shower, with a stunning view! (not wheelchair accessible, sorry). Water is available for washing up, but not suitable for drinking or cooking. The price listed is for 2 adults. Please talk with us about family rates. We have a small herd of cows, 10 chickens, 1 rooster and a farm cat called Pippa. Eastern grey kangaroos graze in nearby paddocks in the early morning. Birdsong fills the morning air. From the camping area, and many areas on the property, you can see the Comboyne mountain range changing colour throughout the day. Everywhere you look, you can enjoy beautiful views. See 360 degree sunrises, misty mornings, stunning sunsets and the magnificent night sky. Evenings, mornings and nights are peaceful and quiet, although you might hear the lowing of the cows or the rooster staking his territory if you wake at night. Paths are slashed through the paddocks if you want to enjoy a leisurely walk or bike ride around the property. Enjoy a range of fresh produce including an organic range from local shops in Wingham, delicious meat from local butchers, sourdough bread, health foods and great coffee, meals and gifts from popular local cafes and shops, and if our chickens are laying, some fresh eggs. The bird life is plentiful with many rare and amazing species either visiting on their annual journeys or calling it home such as the yellow tailed black cockatoo. Several species of wallabies graze around the cabin in the early mornings or late afternoons. Elands is a quiet village with an eclectic community, a Post Office and General store. Our closest town being Wingham is approximately 40 minutes drive the last 16 klms up the mountain is unsealed. It is suitable for all types of vehicles but can be rough at times. The cabin has mobile phone service for those with Telstra or Aldi SIM cards. We have 3 generations of family living on our property and we are only interested in hosting a single female or couple. We have for many years hosted helpers on our farm but now are offering it as short term accommodation. We are completely off grid and try to live in a simple manner with solar, tank water and an outdoor composting toilet. We are only just starting to rent our cabin out and so far have no reviews but have many 5 star reviews on other platforms such as HelpX Unfortunately we don’t allow pets as we have our own dogs on the property who have grown up with the surrounding wildlife and pose no threat. Forested and beautiful, our 350 acre property inside Mount Boss State Forest is on forestry roads. We are a remote bush block 40 mins from Wauchope. Access is by competent 4 wheel drive, foot or horseback. We can cater to off road caravans and trailers and are a good option for pre journey gear shake downs, digital detox, nature embracing or practising for an appearance on Alone. This an experience for self sufficient campers seeking a complete detachment from the outside world and while we are always here to help, we would prefer you turn up able to cope with the conditions. The property is between two spurs in the Mt Banda Banda ridgeline -its a bowl. The northern section is temperate rainforest, the southern section is cleared with stands of regen and mature trees. Numerous springs, dams and creeks, plenty of pristine water. Wildlife is everywhere, yabbies, eels, frogs, birds, reptiles and marsupials including koalas. There are also horses, poultry and dogs, therefore, no pets permitted. Campsites are varied, depending on your set up and location preferences there, rain forest creek to high peak lookouts. Fire wood is freely available, we are happy to advise our requirements around any fires to be lit on the property. Weather changes considerably across the year. The current winter so far has been damp and cold, its the mountains, we get frosts. I think this is glorious and if you enjoy temperatures below 4 degrees, frosty mornings at the fire, giant sapphire skies, and crystal sunny days, then its prefect.... Possibly spring would be the thing? There are blossoms and blue sky, and the bees start moving. Or summer, forest swimming pools...... There are always dams, creeks, hills, forests, to explore, and also the rare option of doing absolutely nothing on a sunny afternoon when all that happens is one plane flies over, a far away silver streak..... The property has no functional mobile reception. High speed Wi-Fi is available free of charge, along with standard bush internet cafe facilities, (run down caravan, squawking geese, very strong coffee). Please be aware when booking that this is a bush block, it is wild. If you come out and ask for a refund because the grass is long I will laugh at you. Self sufficent wild folk only.

As we are up high, noise carries through the valley, so we ask no parties or doofs are to be held here. We live for music but please respect the valley and the fauna that also calls this place home - so keep it low after 10pm. We love and respect our land & if you are to stay here, we ask that you will to. Treat it like your own piece of paradise, so that we can continue to offer this beautiful experience to others for years to come. There is a large freshwater lake to swim in and laze the sunny days away & the stars are so bright at night. There is also a river just down the road at the bottom of the property you can swim, kayak or fish. We get bass in the river, so if fresh fish for dinner is your kind of thing you will love it. The place is a little wild, and we like it like that. That being said you may be sharing with snakes and spiders occasionally, so keep an eye out and zip up your tents and close doors. Keep aware in the warmer summer months and make noise when you are bushwalking. We also have some neighbour cows that like to come and hang out on the land. They are friendly, so if you see them moving about, feel free to say hi. Here you feel like you are a million miles away from the world when in reality you are just a short 15 minutes from the cute country town of Macksville with an epic pub meal and essential items you need to stock up for a few days. It’s 5 minutes to the Taylors Arm River where you can swim and kayak and a 15 minute drive from Taylors Arm and the iconic ‘Pub With No Beer’ (they have plenty of beer). A little further east, a short 30 minute scenic country drive will end you up on some of the mid-north coasts most stunning coastlines and beaches including Scott’s Head, Grassy Head, Nambucca Beach, and Valla Beach all renowned for epic surfing spots and cute cafes. A longer drive of 50 minutes north, straight up the highway will get you to Coffs Harbour and 60 minutes south to Port Macquarie. It’s such a beautiful part of the world and we can’t wait for you to fall in love like we have.

Please note, the waterfalls are not on the property. There is a little local shop in Elands but pack well as it’s 45 min from a major shop and petrol station. I have a large art studio on the property where I teach mosaics and am happy to do art classes for individuals or groups that are wanting to do this Or just come over and camp and enjoy the magical surroundings of Elands Although we are pet-friendly, we do have our own free-ranging pets and wildlife, including sheep. THE HISTORY OF OUR PLACE as we know it: The Biripi people were the original and will always be the landowners of this area. They spent their summers on the mountain, while their winters were beside the coast. We are told, this area was once a women's only area, where they would bath and give birth. We respect those past and present who took care of this land and lived amongst it. This is Biripi country. Sometime after this, some people took over the land, and then offered it to others. Then cut trees down to build with, and put cows on it for over 80 years.. then we were offered it! And here we are today.... US: We LOVE hosting people, as we literally LOVE sharing this place with others. It’s part of who we are, but also a huge part of our bigger picture, in getting people re connected with Nature, so much so, that they want to protect it. Plus it’s so damn pretty here, all year around! You Camp/Hipcamp has been a driving force as to why we have had so many guests find us, and ultimately stay with us (along with some help from our insta #teretulemastelands blogs & workaway/helpx). But if you are wondering why people would visit, I'll do my best to summarise: • 400 metre walk from our RIVER flat to the famous Ellenborough Falls (famous for being the longest consistent drop in the southern hemisphere - hows that for on the map?) • All sites have access to the river with a short walk, or a tiny walk. Most are sitting on the famous Ellenborough River. • The Penthouse spot of sites is our River Flat. With it's hot shower, 2 composting toilets (still fully off grid), outdoor bbq/kitchen, gas & combustion stove & bar in shed (with solar lighting & fridge). PLUS A MTB PUMP TRACK! ALL PART of what you get when you book it! • The Ellenborough river is gorgeous & fresh, so paddling, floating, swimming, drinking and generally lounging around in it, is welcomed! And the locals often hang out together at the falls (where there are even deeper water holes) and the local made famous The Rapids (8 min drive away). *we will show you once you get here! bYO drinks and floaties! • ALL sites can accommodate reasonably large groups, SERENITY and RIVER FLAT can cater to around 100 OR more if you wanted them to. 2 composting toilets on these sites. State Forest on the doorstep great for mountain bikes, and with motorbike trails heading out to the west. The farm is 5 minutes from the Eungai Buffallo Farm cafe. Little Plain Hall grounds - a small rural hall and grounds celebrating their 100th year in 2023 and adjacent to the Ellenborough River with a number of bush campsites available. (If you are after more than a nice piece of grass and a flushing toilet then this property maybe isn't for you!) All sites are reached via dirt tracks that can be rough and slippery. Sites 1 and 2 are adjacent to each other behind the hall and closest to the toilet and the most accessible-more suited to caravans and those without 4 wheel drives. Sites 3, 4 and 5 are adjacent to each other on the banks of the river. Site 6 is separate from the others on the bank of Little Plain Creek but furthest from the toilet. PLEASE NOTE: Access to the river at sites 3, 4 and 5 - the banks are steep and though we have a narrow track down it is slippery. There is access to the river at other spots on the property. This open grassed area of 6 acres is 5 kms further on from the Ellenborough Falls turnoff. (We are not near Ellenborough village but in Elands- this is a somewhat common error when people look us up.) We are a community-run non-profit facility available to campers. All funds raised are used to improve the grounds and hall. Directions to find us: From the South -off the Pacific highway at Taree through Wingham, Follow the Brown tourist signs to Ellenborough Falls. We are approx. 5 kms from the falls turnoff. From the north- Off the Pacific Highway: Again the brown tourist signs will get you to Ellenborough Falls Port Macquarie end through Comboyne-either way requires access over narrow, dirt roads. From the Falls turnoff: continue straight ahead on Glenwarrin Road (don't turn into the falls). You will cross over 2 bridges. After the 2nd bridge, the grounds are on your right at the top of the small hill. 542 Glenwarrin Road Elands. Larger rigs are not advised. One toilet available and limited tank water - please BYO water and be water wise with the tank water at the hall. Well behaved pets are welcome. Hall available for hire - please send an enquiry. Although there are designated camping spots we're happy to be flexible if you arrive and would like to relocate within our extensive 'camping area' ...depending on weather conditions and respecting the personal space of other campers. We have livestock (currently horses) running throughout the property - some can be very friendly but please don't approach or feed them. We prefer no dogs but will allow if dogs remain well controlled, tethered or on a leash - this is for the safety of your pet as well as the livestock and wildlife. You will see and hear all kinds of wildlife, particularly morning and evening when they are most active. There are no amenities, rubbish or water facilities so come prepared, take what you brought and leave it as you found it. There is one only port-a-loo with pop-up-tent available for hire if required. You are welcome to take a walk or pushbike and enjoy the peace and nature but please no driving of vehicles or use of motorcycles or quads. PLEASE NOTE: Fire restrictions from September 1st and usually continue during Summer. Fire Permits are not required for fires for the purpose of cooking food, provided that: 1. the fire is in a permanently constructed fireplace. We have also seen turtles, frilled neck lizards, diamond pythons, red belly black snakes (rarely) and goannas.
