A Slice of Inland Paradise

Riverside Campsite on 200 acres
We had a brilliant time at Sophie’s place. It’s such a private inland paradise nestled in a beautiful part of the country. When we arrived, Sophie gave us a grand tour of the property, introducing us to her cows and horses and showing us all the best swimming holes, rainforest and hidden fairy houses.
After that, Sophie left us to enjoy the 200 acres all to ourselves to explore and relax. It’s a beautiful place to either chill or adventure. We absolutely loved it, especially swimming and star gazing by the fire at night.
Sophie is an excellent host and such a genuinely lovely soul. She leaves you to your own devices but is always happy to help if needed. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a country camping experience.

Awsome spot, Would definitely recommend. Extremely private as you get the property to yourself. Kids did heaps of exploring and swimming. River is full of bass and the bird life is amazing. Directions on getting there were eazy to follow and our host was great 👍

Such a beautiful spot, we had an absolute ball. Beautiful river, the camp was very well maintained and the host was lovely and helpful. We even had a visit from some cows. Highly recommend 👌

We absolutely loved our stay at the treehouse. Sophie was an amazing host and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodation was immaculate and beautifully appointed. We normally camp so it was wonderful to be totally “off-grid” but with the luxury of electricity, hot showers, a flushing toilet, comfy furniture to relax in, and even Starlink - what a rare find! We did almost everything on Sophie’s suggested activities - 4WD’ing, swimming & kayaking along the pristine river, the breathtaking drive out to Ellenborough falls, and we even had a bonfire. The kids loved the flying fox and all the friendly animals - they loved the al pacas, played with the dogs, patted the cows, fed the horses and chooks and collected delicious fresh eggs every morning. The full farmstay experience. We can’t wait to come back again - thanks Sophie!

Such an beautiful campsite. You get the whole place to yourself, right on the banks of the river. Listening to the river running during the night in bed and sitting in front of the fire with the river running in the background - just bliss. A proper escape - no phone reception which made us appreciate it all that much more. The campsite was well prepared and a drop toilet is available.
Sophie was a great host and accommodated us arriving a day late, her directions were easy to follow and we were met on arrival and escorted to the site.
We loved when the horses came to visit and our sunrise / sunset walks to try and spot the Platypus.
We highly recommend a visit to Riverside Campsite.

Baby's Place is an incredibly peaceful camping area. We were the only ones there at the time of visiting. Beautiful camping area under large rainforest trees over looking the river (and nearby to a pit loo). We had use of kayaks and swum in the river pool where there are platypuses. if you are a bird lover / watcher - there are lots of species of birds. Highly recommend you head up the hill whilst the sunsets for a sunset dinner.

We had the most amazing time at Sophie’s property. We booked super last minute as a honeymoon retreat and were blown away. The cottage is so warm and cosy and the way it is mounted on the hill makes you feel like you’re floating in the clouds as the mist comes through from the mountains.
What an absolute dream - love all the animals, wonderful and attentive host and the location is stunning. Can’t wait to return!

The host was clear, generous and helpful. The campsite was top notch in this area, with no shortage of good ground to stretch out on with sunny or shady, all with good views and access to the river. River has suitable areas for young children as well as deeper water for others. Very pretty, minimal flies and mozzies, friendly horses and the feeling of a proper escape from the crowds, even in holiday season. Heartily recommend.

Just had 3 nights at Avalon with family and friends camping. We all loved it very quite and lots of wildlife. As well as the farm animals to interact with.sophie and ged are great hosts We are already planing a return trip. Thanks Matt and family

Avalon River Retreat is perfect! My partner and I were looking for a secluded getaway surrounded by serene nature, somewhere to relax and unwind where all you can hear are birds chirping, the ripple of river water and the breeze rustling through the trees. We had 200 acres to ourselves=heaven! LOVE!

Camping at Avalon
This property was amazing. The river is absolutely beautiful.
Sophie went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay, even providing us with Kayaks to further explore the river. Feeding the farm animals was a hit with the kids.
I would highly recommend this property to other campers.
