The Abundance Nursery and Cafe with it's splendid lily pond view is a great spot to enjoy a meal or a coffee and only 3 kms back along Rawdon Island road. The pretty country town of Wauchope is only a 12 minute drive and is home to Timbertown, a theme park boasting steam train rides and a glimpse of the timber getting industry of a bygone era. Drop into the Vibe Coffee House, pick up "the best" coffee and a sensational meal before perusing the many treasures of Wauchope's specialty shops. A day trip to the Comboyne plateu is a rewarding experience and enhanced by enjoying a meal at the magnificant Byabarra Cafe on your way through. Whilst the meals equall those of any capital city restaurant, the view of the valley will take your breath away. And then; there's Port Macquarie (20 mins) and sorrounds! one of the most scenic and attraction packed areas of Australia's eastern seaboard. If you forage for wood please clear site of whats left before leaving This property is pet friendly though we do ask that owners leash and clean up after their fur babies. We are a 4 minute drive from the historical town of Gladstone, which has a bakery, butcher, general store, retail shops, fruit and veg shop, nursery, cafes, restaurants, an op-shop, second hand wares shop, galleries, outdoor swim centre and of course the local pub. Gladstone Markets are on the 3rd Sunday of the month. It's a 20 minute drive to South West Rocks, Hat Head and Crescent Head. Just 45 minutes north of Port Macquarie and 1 hour south of Coffs Harbour. Please arrive before dark, or advise arrival time if not possible . You must be fully self contained, there are no facilities. Please no tents or swags. Enjoy a beautiful campsite near a large dam, watch the ducks, rosellas, cranes, herons and the occasional Jabiru, feed and nest in the trees. A great spot for bird watching. Pick your own spot, maybe near one of the fire braziers, but not directly under the trees if windy. No livestock on property but we have visiting kangaroos, tortoises, green frogs, and eels in the dam if you want to fish for them. Mid Coast Flying operate a private 800 metre airstrip on the property, and Trial Instructional Flights (TIFS) are available, for $150 for 45 minutes. Please speak to Ross when you arrive. You can pick your own site. Unfortunately we may have to close after torrential rain events. We are also pet friendly, however there are no bins, so please pick up after your pets in the camping area. Water is available near the hangar as you drive in.

You can relax by the spring fed dam and look for Coy fish, lay under the trees and do a spot of bird and koala watching or go for a bush walk in the many surrounding trails. Dogs - We are happy for you to bring your fury friends (as long as they are supervised, dog and child friendly, well behaved and non destructive in nature) Please keep them out of the vegie gardens!! Please be mindful that the fencing is not dog safe and the property is surrounded by National Parks and Wildlife. Children - Please be mindful that the dam is not fenced off. Our kids had such a magical time. Fishing, farm freedom, feeding the animals, playing in the pool and making friends with other campers. Clean bathrooms. The hosts are lovely. The games room is an added inside space to relax in the evening and we liked cooking our breakfast on their supplied outside cooking area. Highly recommend for those who love the outdoors with modern conveniences.

I loved the peace and quiet of the location. We used the camp as base for our day trips. Very basic camp but beautiful grassed area just what we needed. Thankyou Sarah for letting us share your peace of serenity.

Lovely quiet and well maintained camp sites on the bank of the Hastings River. Mid April, but still warm enough to swim in. The campsites are well spaced apart and have lovely views over the river and surrounding mountains. Perfect for a restful few days.

Spacious, grassy, peaceful, right on the river and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for anything more. It's a shame we live 10hrs away, otherwise it would be a regular spot for us. We hope to come back again one day.

Chrissie welcomed us like a friend and kept her property immaculate we where fortunate enough to have the 3 sites to ourselves she suggested which site to set up on & it gave us sunshine for most the time which was great coming into autumn, the other sites would be better in summer because of the shade she also had ample timber for the fire pit & the toilet & shower were second to none we would recommend a visit & intend to stay again

Well laid out campground. Peaceful, quiet and with a great host. Close to the local town for coffee, pub etc. highly recommend if you what get away from it all for a few days. we stayed for over a week, loved it.

Awesome site! A dog friendly and very private site that is extremely well maintained in a beautiful location fronting the river. Sole use of the adjacent camp kitchen facilities for Site 1 is well worth the extra $$ for this site; with an undercover area, gas bbq, fire pit with cooking grates provided, and fresh water tank/tap/sink. We will definitely be returning to Site 1 Little Rawdon Island Camp.

I shouldn’t be surprised but have to say that it is difficult to find a quiet, clean park with all the bells and whistles - especially in the middle of peak camping season. Thanks to all the visitors - what a great mob! Happy to be amongst a bunch of fellow travellers enjoying the spoils of the beautiful SWR in a world full of turmoil. Hope to be back soon!
