Step onto our four‑generation working cane and cattle farm, where the smell of fresh‑cut cane, the hum of farm life, and the shimmer of the Clarence River set the tone for your stay. Your adventure begins at the entrance, marked by “Rusty,” our old sugarcane harvester — a true piece of local history and a favourite photo stop.
The winding driveway leads you through the paddocks, past different cane varieties and grazing horses and cattle. The front horse paddock will soon become our upgraded camp kitchen and guest area, and we’re excited to keep improving the space while staying true to the farm’s heritage.
Life on the Farm
Days here follow the rhythm of the land and the river. Wander through the cane, taste sweet juice straight from the stalk, and see how sugarcane is grown and harvested. Enjoy bike riding, walking trails, quiet fishing spots, and kayaking or canoeing straight from the property. The Ashby Creek swimming hole offers a calm, sheltered place for a refreshing dip.
Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.
Exploring the Clarence Valley
There’s plenty to do nearby — enjoy a meal at the Harwood Hotel, stop for morning tea on Chatsworth Island, or join in local favourites like the Maclean Cane Harvest Festival, Maclean Highland Gathering, Yamba, Iluka and Brooms head famous beaches and the Grafton Races. Our 40 acre property is home to four quiet, secure, exclusive river front sites on the mighty Clarence River. Boating, fishing and crabbing literally at your doorstep. And it's just a 15 minute drive into the towns of Yamba and Maclean.
To ensure all our guests have a comfortable and spacious experience, each campsite is designated for one camp set up only (eg one caravan or camper trailer or tent) This allows us to maintain a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere with plenty of space between sites.
The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet.
Please note:
Our sites are available for booking up to 3 months in advance.
Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under control.
Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place.
Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.
Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

Weekend Trip to Trickling Waters Retreat
My husband and I had a magical time at Tricking Waters celebrating our first wedding anniversary. Upon arrival we found a little gift in the fridge for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. We stayed in the glamping tent and loved having a fire every night and falling asleep to the sound of the creek running. We were lucky enough to see fire flies both nights too ✨ highly recommend staying here. The host was very accomodating and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back 💗

Weekend Trip to Petaurus Gardens
Absolutely amazing service and location. We had a little drive ahead of us and were running a little late. We arrived after 7pm to find Chris had already had a campfire going for us. Very impressed with the community amenities as they were clean and had everything we needed!

Amazing stay at Ngaios cabin, was just what two city girls ordered! We were looking to disconnect and that we did. The accommodation itself is modern, clean and big. Ngaio has thought of everything with a speaker, basic grocery items and even a toothbrush. The hot tub and fire pit was a hit along with the stargazing. Best part was the animals though and being able to bring my dog with me (she loved it and has been recovering since haha). The baby goats were the cutest! Thank you Ngaio and see you again soon :)

Check-in was easy and we had a comfortable stay. The unit was exactly as shown in the listing photos and was conveniently located close to the beach, which was lovely for walking the dogs. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable overnight stay with their dogs.

3 nights at "JALUM" Undulating Farmland!
Had a fantastic weekend away at Karen's place. The property is beautiful and so was the room we stayed in - clean, well set up and a great indoor space with fireplace , seating area and kitchen to use. Karen was such a lovely host and really made my birthday weekend special. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway - only 1.5 hours from Brisbane, but feels like you are worlds away. Just down the road from murwillimbah, pottsville and Byron. We did the rail trail via ebike which is just down the road. Will definitely be back.

The cabin is well maintained and was very clean. Ngaio was welcoming and friendly. Provided milk and eggs, plus all the condiments. Little snack draw as well. The animals are so friendly and don’t come into your space. Absolute amazing weekend. Would definitely come back. I have recommended this to a friend who is planning to stay a couple weekends from now.

Allan's Place was perfectly cozy, gorgeously decorated and very well equipped. The balcony made the space feel even larger, allowing for wonderful outdoor living. Access to a private outdoor shower with hot water and a short walk to shared toilets on the property. The grounds are beautifully kept and perfect for exploring. Pets are welcomed are are sure to love OKA!
Kellie and Rod are wonderful hosts and are happy to help with any questions you have during your stay. I highly recommend Allan's Place to any single or couple wanting a peaceful, relaxing retreat!

exceptionally clean and comfortable accommodation. Lovely bedding. We had an excellent sleep. There's an undercover outdoor verandah plus a fire pit which was ready to light. That was a great! We appreciated that. Ngaio has some very cute animals who all come and visited us at of front door. 2 poddy calves, friendly chooks, peacocks and we got to meet a little baby goat. Highly recommend this accomodation. We would like to stay again. Thank you so much.

Trickling Waters Glamping was a beautiful secluded spot, filled with all the luxuries you need!
Travel directions were clear, the grounds a very well kept. All amenities were clean and functional.
Sitting by the creek at the crack of dawn with a coffee watching the mist through the trees was peaceful way to start the morning.
My partner, myself and my dog had a lovely time. They have extra blankets of you need, drinkable water a toasty cuppa tea and the tent was delightfully bug proof!
Honestly cant think of any downsides to our stay.
We plan to come back in summer next!

We had a wonderful stay, the host was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. There were animals everywhere, which was a real highlight for the kids. They had the freedom to interact with them as much or as little as they wanted, making it a relaxed and enjoyable experience for us all.
The property was also very accommodating for our two dogs, which made travelling so much easier. The accommodation itself was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed for an stress-free stay.

3 nights at Trickling Waters Retreat
We had an amazing time at Trickling Waters! Truely private and tucketed away into nature right beside the running creek. Everything you could need was provided making our stay so comfortable!
The weather wasn't on our side for our stay but the tent was so cosy that it was never an issue, we just bundled up on the deck and in the tent listening to the rain and creek.
We will be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Trickling Waters in a beautiful glamping tent nestled right alongside Commissioners Creek. This is a truly private and tucked-away gem in the Mount Commissioners Creek area of the Mount Warning region, surrounded by lush nature that makes you feel miles from anywhere. The gentle, tranquil sound of the creek was soothing and created the perfect backdrop for unwinding and relaxing after busy days exploring the region. Everything felt peaceful, secluded, and restorative — the perfect spot for a family escape or a quiet recharge in nature.
