4 nights at Barachi by the Creek

A great rustic cabin, filled with character, bordered by a running creek in a private setting. Peter greeted me at his property and drove me down to the cabin, sharing some of the local history of the property and region And a bag of home grown mandarins. I was provided with a tour of the facilities and left to my own devices - it’s well contained, private and quiet. The fire lit bath worked a treat though in winter, I’d recommend enjoying prior to the sun disappearing. There are candles and some solar powered lights to provide some atmospheric lighting. It can get cool in the evening, so take advantage of the hot water bottles provided. There is a bit of cell reception around the cabin if needed to send text messages but it’s otherwise a great place to switch off, read and chill out.

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek

Was just as peaceful and relaxing as expected. Definitely recommend for anyone to be away from technology and gadgets and gizmos. This takes you back in time , expect ranch vibes and rustic furnishings. I actually didn’t expect it to be as big as it was and also came with a lot of the accessories you need. Plates , bowls , cutleries , mozzie spray cleaning stuff even things like fishing rods which was cute. Loved the wooden touches with the tin, don’t know how it would be in the summer with not much ventilation but it was nice and cool so made it even better. Enjoyed relaxing by the creek and watching the cows. The hammocks were very relaxing and our dog loved the area. Couldn’t have a bath because the water had some mosquito larvae so didn’t end up using but that’s ok was still a cool touch to have so hopefully maybe next time we visit can try again. Thanks again for the hospitality will be back :)

A lovely secluded cabin a few minutes walk from local amenities and pub. Great location to base yourself when visiting the area. Cabin was well equipped, as others have mentioned the outside shower is excellent and the fire pit was great for the cooler evenings.

Peter and Tania’s property is beautiful! The shack was in a prime position near the creek and surrounded by trees. I loved my stay here and would highly recommend it to others looking for a getaway in nature and digital detox.

4 nights at Yarralen Retreat

Julie the hosts was very lovely and accommodating to all our needs. Always offering food eg, eggs, milk whatever we needed. My parter and I stayed for 5 nights and we absolutely loved it. The lodging brought a nice peaceful atmosphere surrounded by beautiful plants and a private get away. The sauna and magnesium pool made the whole experience ten times better. The community kitchen had everything you needed. We met lots of lovely family’s at yarralen retreat. We also loved seeing all of Julie’s art work around the property as well as the beautiful paintings. Would 100% recommend this place. And we can’t wait to come back!! 😊

We loved camping here with the use of the cabin - a top spot with perfect facilities. The outdoor shower was a huge hit! Great central location to explore the surrounding location from Tea Gardens, Bluies Beach and throughout the national park. Thanks for having us! We’ll be back.

We stayed at Barrachi Camp with a mate and honestly had the best time. It was the perfect little escape from Byron — so peaceful, private, and beautifully tucked away on the farm. Peter and Tania have created something really special there, a cosy cabin that feels completely nestled in nature while still being super comfortable. We loved the quiet, the privacy, and just slowing down for a couple of days. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll bring more friends to share this gem. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper reset.

This is a beautiful retreat 😍 ✨️ the spaces, the stillness. Sauna, pool and Magnesium bath... there is a community kitchen which has everything needed. I stayed in a cabin/cottage which was comfortable and clean. Julie is a great host and I will definitely be coming back!

This little tin shack is like going back in time to stay in a timber-getter's lodge. It is full of rustic charm and nestled at the foot of hills, beside and (importantly) in the shade of a stand of large beautiful camphor laurels, with a small creek running below. It really is camping without the tent, but has everything you need in the way of a solar shower, long-drop loo, tanks of water, solar lights and a small fan, gas cooker and large bbq, outdoor firepit, and even a fire-heated outdoor bath to enjoy under the stars, or in our case, a full moon. The deck is large and comfortable with chairs and a hammock which we spent a lot of time in, and the solar nights that come on at night make for a lovely vibe. The wind in the trees and the sound of the wind chime was so lovely to hear and fall asleep to at night, and the cool night's in the comfortable beds made for great sleeps. Being a tin shack, it does get quite hot especially late morning/midday, but we found shade under the camphor's and loved watching the cows come up close. The creek was really low when we were there as there hasn't been much rain, but it would be so beautiful when flowing in rainy months. Whian Whian Falls is less than 10 minutes away for a lovely swim to cool of, and we dined at the Channon Pub too which is recommended. The kids (3 and 1) loved the space to explore, cows to watch, creek and bath to splash in, and fireside hangs. Peter was such an amazing, responsive, friendly, and kind host.

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs had the most peaceful, relaxing stay on Peter and Tania's property. Relaxing on the deck and watching the cows graize in the lush, rolling hills was so serene. Cooling off in the nearby creek, watching our dogs play was so special. Thank you to Peter for meeting us and showing us the way. Definitely need a 4wd. We would love to come back again.

Barachi by the creek is an absolutely magical place. Peaceful, secluded and surrounded by natural beauty while giving you everything you need for a trip away without all the mod cons. Pete and Tania are speedy and effective in communication and are awesome hosts. Cannot recommend this enough. You will not regret your decision to book. Bit of a walk down and back up but that was part of the charm. Earn your holiday!

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek

We had the most incredible night at Peter and Tania's cabin! The cabin was so decked out with everything we needed and the beds were comfier than the ones at home! The dog and the kids loved the creek, we hiked and explored the paddocks :) A big storm rolled in and we all watched the lighting from the porch and all slept so cozy with rain on the tin roof! Solar shower was perfect to give everyone a wash! Beautiful property and very private, we will most certainly come back again! Peter was so easy to communicate with and made sure we were all set. Great experience thanks so much 🙏🏼
