Our property is approximately 150 acres, located in the Upper Hunter Valley between the Goulburn River National Park and the Wollemi National Park. In the shadow of Mt Dangar, our land sweeps down to the pristine Goulburn River, one of the main tributaries of the Hunter River.
The property was once part of a huge agricultural station, that was established not long after explorers started to open up the interior to development in colonial times.
We raise cattle and have an olive grove, which we planted in 2001 (our olive brand is Windybank Olives). In 2003 we established The Old Dairy accommodation, by renovating the crumbling 1940's dairy shed at the top of the property.
There are stunning views of the surrounding countryside in all directions from The Old Dairy. It is a place to unwind, relax, reset. Guests have loved the peace & quiet we offer, the chance to get away from everything for a short while. Our road is just off Bylong Valley Way - a visually stunning route through the national parks towards Mudgee, Rylstone, Capertee Valley, Lithgow and the Greater Blue Mountains, tracking along the headwaters of the Goulburn River.
One of the most beautiful drives in New South Wales and within close proximity of terrific campsites like Ganguddy (Dunn's Swamp via Rylstone) and Big River (Gouburn River National Park). Plenty of birds & wildlife (kangaroos make a very regular appearance - as do healthy green tree frogs!).

The Woolshed itself has a lovely veranda with table and chairs, that provides a picturesque spot to sit and admire the view up the paddock.
The Woolshed is rustic and open to the elements, so be mindful that it can be cold in winter and warm in summer. The shed has 4 extra large fans and for the cooler months an internal woodfire (firewood can be purchased under 'Extras'). Nestled on a peaceful bend of the Hunter River, Tranquil Vale is a 25 acre working Vineyard producing authentic Hunter Valley award winning wines, specialising in estate grown Semillon, Chardonnay and Shiraz.
Tranquil Vale also offers intimate vineyard stays in a Romantic Couple’s Loft with a balcony overlooking the vines, or your own two-bedroom Fully Self-Contained Cottage opening onto the vineyard itself.
We offer complimentary tastings for our guests at our on-premise cellar door - see you there! :)
You are free to walk around the property and explore the vineyard and meet our small mob of sheep, friendly dogs + Angus calf but please keep in mind that we are a working vineyard and there may be farm equipment in operation. Please supervise young children.

Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley
Such a beautiful experience! We loved our stay here at Cranky Rock. The cabin is so unique with so many cool details, the more you look the more you find. The property is also incredible! We stayed with our dog who loved the horses and we also spotted multiple deer which I’ve never seen before so was thrilled about that. The hosts Pam and Lindsey were so welcoming and lovely, made us feel so at home. The best part, it’s dog friendly so you can bring your fur babies! We had such a great time here and thank you so much for having us 🩷

2 nights at Glamping Vineyard Getaway
We had an amazing experience, largely thanks to the incredible location and how comfortable everything was. Set in a peaceful, scenic spot, it felt wonderfully secluded while still being easy to access. The accommodation itself was exceptionally comfortable and felt cozy while still being so spacious . The set up made it so easy and all the necessary cooking utensils were provided which made the cooking situation a breeze , would highly recommend to anyone.

Our stay in the malee cabin was perfect!
Matt and Jenna are super friendly and helpful.
The land was beautiful and we loved that we could explore some bush tracks on the property. The amenities were nice and clean and they even have a family friendly shower room which was really helpful! We will definitely be back.

The birdhouse is an unbelievable place to stay, it's comfortable and peaceful, the town is lovely too, and so are the people there. But the owners of this property are what really makes the difference, they are amazing. Do yourself a favor and visit this place.

Weekend Trip to Wattle Valley Farm
Went as a couple to Acacia Cottage and it was perfect for what we wanted, super modern bathroom and kitchen. Big comfy bed, big porch, and felt like a bit of luxury nestled in the campsite. This would also be a great option if your friends all camp and you want to treat yourself/dont fancy doing a tent as the site is easy to walk around to where all the campers are!

We loved our stay at the birdhouse, unique spot with plenty of privacy on the property, great view with cosy furnishings and fantastic location to the town.
Communication was great, finding the accommodation was easy with parking. Would recommend.

My family and I stayed this weekend at the woolshed and had a great time, the shed was nicely decorated and everyone enjoyed a good soak in the tub.
We woke up to beautiful views and horses running passed. There was a playful puppy that came every now and then to play with our kids (there favourite part of the stay)
We explored the land and found some beautiful spots along the creek.
We plan to stay again in the future

Weekend Trip to Wattle Valley Farm
Thank you Mat and Jenna for having us !! When we arrived Mat was so welcoming and showed us where everything was, the property is so big and beautiful plenty of space for everyone to pick there camping spot.
The bathrooms and showers were well maintained and very clean. This place is nice for families and couples.
If your someone who wants to sleep on a bed the cabins are perfect as you can sit outside all night in front of the bon fire then go inside to your cabin to sleep!!
Wifi wasnt to bad !! but if you need to make calls to fam and friends you can just walk up closer to the main house :)
I would def come back here again ❤️
There is also a small spot in the town 7 mins away with 2 cafes me and my partner drove up there and spent 4 hours exploring everything there all in the same street the wine tasting, art gallery, cafe, museum, 2x thrif stores was really nice !!!

Weekend Trip to Glamping Vineyard Getaway
What a cute setup! I love the addition of the tiny house with the glamping tent, it made cooking and using the bathroom really easy - especially in winter!
The glamping tent was really cosy and had everything you needed. The location was far away from anything else but really easy to get to and access. It was so nice sitting by the fire in the evening and listening to the creek and all the nature around you.
Communication from hosts was great. I'd definitely return!

It is a luxury rustic set up canon. There is all supplied excl. food. Well furnished & cosy.
It is located on the top of the hill, secluded area only for you. The bathroom is separate with a shower (all in good condition). You can have a shower while enjoying the bush view :)
There is a fire place next to the hut and a large outdoor sitter. Very nice.

Plenty of camping space.
Facilities were excellent.
Cabins were very clean and cosy.
Close to Wollombi if you require a coffee fix.
Would have been great if we were able to access the creek .
Overall a fantastic place for camping with friends and family.
