This unique abode, has a relaxed feel on a 5 acre property, close to the Byron town (only 13kms) but far enough away to enjoy the solitude the hinterlands offers with access to wide open fresh air. It consists of a 1964 original vintage caravan, with an open-plan living/dining area, a gorgeous industrial-style bathroom, with a glass ceiling for star gazing & an outdoor fire-pit. The open air living allows guests to feel 100% connected to the natural environment, while at the same time having access to reliable, fast internet along with the comforts of a hot shower, flush loo etc. It is an ideal way to capture the restored feeling from remote camping, without the hassle of taking all your camping gear. Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the vintage age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children. All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space. The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse We are a pet-friendly property. If you wish to bring your friendly pet, they are welcome, but we charge a fee of $25 . Please select that you have a pet when making your booking. We also request that you kindly ensure that your pet does not go inside the caravan or on any of the furniture including the bed, lounge etc. If there is dog hair in the van or on the couch we may need to charge an extra cleaning fee.

The Meadow at Dunoon is located 40 mins from Byron Bay; 20 mins from Bangalow. Its the perfect escape for couples, a small group of friends or families who are seeking a relaxing and environmentally friendly Byron Hinterland break. Our two eco-friendly domes sit on a 120 acre property providing a unique experience with a sense of space and privacy that helps you disengage from the everyday. Access to water and solar power on site. There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single. There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ. There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together. For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include: Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes) Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes) Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes) Eltham Hotel (15 minutes) The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes) Bangalow Markets (20 minutes) Important information: Linen not provided. Doona, sheets, pillow tea towels needed. PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this. This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler. Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road. You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

Exactly what we were looking for- a camping experience without the setup. Betty Boop delivered. Everything you need, nothing fancy but very nice. Bathroom is lovely, we enjoyed making a coffee in the morning, beautiful property, bathtub on the deck. Would recommend and we’d definitely go back.

My wife’s sister came to visit from Canada, and this place was perfect for our whole family to travel together. There were no disturbances at all, and it was a private space just for our family to relax and enjoy, which we really loved. There are many nice areas nearby, making it a great location for light sightseeing and enjoying delicious food. Also, the amazing sunsets and stars visible from the dome tent gave us a perfect escape from the tiring city life. If we get the chance again, we would definitely love to visit again.

Jane has created a truly unique property with her two dome tents in Dunoon. It was so much fun just being there and seeing the incredible views from the dome and the central covered kitchen / lounge area. The sunsets are amazing! After camping for over a week prior to getting to the domes, it was so luxurious being able to have a proper shower, flushing toilet and comfy bed and huge couch to savour the evening skies. Really interesting and unique place. ❤️

We had a wonderful stay at The Meadow! The accommodation is absolutely beautiful and truly unique — waking up inside the dome with the marvelous view of the open meadow right outside was such a special experience. Watching the sunset from the dome was simply breathtaking — the whole area lights up in warm, golden tones, making it feel like you’re in your own private slice of nature. The dome is thoughtfully set up with all the comforts you need, including a very comfortable bed that made for a great night’s sleep. There are two domes and each dome has toilet and shower. Despite experiencing severe windy weather during our stay, we felt completely safe and secure inside, which really shows how well-constructed the dome is. The kitchen area is well-equipped with everything you could possibly need — BBQ grill, plates, cups, cutlery — making it easy to cook and enjoy meals without missing the views. The hosts were absolutely lovely, very responsive, and genuinely cared about our comfort. When the solar power was affected by the extreme weather, they handled it with generosity and offered compensation, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, The Meadow is the perfect mix of comfort, nature, and thoughtful hospitality. The views, especially at sunset, are unforgettable. Highly recommended for a peaceful, scenic, and unique glamping experience!

Great spot for exploring the Byron Bay hinterland. Glamping domes with hot water, showers, and flushing toilets. Gazebo sited between the 2 domes has a kitchen sink, microwave, kettle, toaster, Weber BBQ/grill, and under bench fridge and freezer units. Views of picturesque, rolling hinterland hills are a bonus! Highly recommend for an easy glamping trip where you don't need to bring a heap of gear - just clothes, food, linen, blankets, and towels. Beware, don't forget pillows as they are not supplied!

We had an incredible stay in the hinterland inside the dome tents! From the moment we booked, Jane was exceptionally clear and helpful with her instructions, making our arrival and stay seamless. The tents themselves were beautifully set up. One of the highlights was the stunning sunset—sitting outside the tents, we had an unobstructed view of the sky. Stargazers are in for a treat, we caught a few shooting stars. It was truly breathtaking and one of the most peaceful moments of our trip. Thank you, Jane, for providing such a memorable and unique experience. We can't wait to come back!
