Peaceful Paddocks is located 5minutes to the Pacific Highway from your campsite. Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest are 20 minutes drive North and it is 10 minutes to the village of Karuah. The village of Karuah provides all you require shops, restaurants and the Karuah River. The RSL has a wonderful restaurant. Nelson Bay is a 40 minutes away. Come and enjoy the peace and tranquility! Priority allocation of sites is given to the first campers to arrive on the day of the booking. For your peace of mind, the owner is usually on site. Self contained campers with camping toilet/shower, and drinking water are the expectation. Access to a pool, shower and toilet may be approved upon request. Please contact us for further information. We wish to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Worimi, Gringai and Biripi people the custodians, spiritual and cultural owners of these lands on which the Gloucester River runs. River Front Campsites is a picturesque camping area on the eastern edge of the Barrington Tops National Park (Gloucester Tops) and nestled on the banks of the crystal clear Gloucester River. A great spot for families and groups of all ages who love wide open natural spaces. A place to relax and enjoy the amazing mountain scenery, fabulous sunsets and bird life local to the area, along with other wildlife that graze the land. If you want to indulge in the natural wonders of the area, there are numerous walking trails in the nearby Gloucester Tops National Park, swim in the crystal clear water of the Gloucester River. Do some Bird watching. We are an active beef cattle farm. We run approximately 80 head of cattle. You will see our herd of cattle across the paddocks, which includes pregnant cows, younger cows, calves, and Brutus our bull. We will endeavor to run our cattle outside of the paddocks containing the campsites. For this reason, we ONLY allow dogs to stay if they remain on a lead or are well controlled. There are 6 sites to choose from beside the flowing river to set up your campsite, with shady areas, spacious grassy areas for the kids to run around or just relax and enjoy the surroundings. All of our campsites are perfect for having a campfire (fire season dependent). NO rubbish can be burnt in any campfires at all. Each Site will have a fire pit. BYO wood. These are sites only and NO toilet or shower facilities are provided, or freshwater. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN CAMPING TOILET OR ONE IN YOUR CARAVAN/CAMPER. (There are dump points located in Gloucester and Stroud townships, both approximately 40 min away). Access to River Front Campsites is partially by 12kms of gravel council managed road with 6 water crossings. Campsites are easily accessible by 4WD and 2WD vehicles. (Weather conditions permitting) Flood detour road available if needed. There is no rubbish collection on the campsites. You will be required to take all rubbish off the property when you leave. THERE IS NO MOBILE RECEPTION.

We had an amazing stay at Andrew’s Hipcamp! From the moment we arrived, Andrew was a legend—super accommodating and met us at the gate. We were the only ones on site, so we enjoyed complete privacy and had the freedom to choose a lovely spot. The weather was perfect, the grass was lush and green, and overall, it was an excellent experience. We’ll definitely be back and will highly recommend it to our friends!

This private piece of paradise was an absolute delight. A well managed paddock with 6 fire pits spaced out about 30m apart all facing the river. I attended during school holidays/public holiday and we didn’t even hit capacity! The sound of the flowing river and birds of warning was so calming for the soul. Will definitely be back!

We had the best long weekend at Riverfront. Perfect weather and a beautiful river along with the peace and quiet. Both humans and dogs had a very relaxing stay. Not to mention Denise taking us to hand feed Lucy the cow. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We will definitely be back!

What a place and Rob and Marg were amazing! The work they do is truly exceptional! We were unlucky enough to get a flat about 200m away from the entrance of the campsite and they were out to help us and get the spare on and being a long weekend, the local mechanics were all shut. So Rob took it upon himself to not only source us a tyre but repair the tyre and fit the tyre for us! Absolute legends and willing to help and have chat whenever they see you! Can’t recommend the place enough. Amenities were great, campground is great and the owners were amazing! Come see Edens canopy!

Marg’s land is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature. The hosts are welcoming and easy to communicate with. It’s a great spot if you’re after a quiet getaway under the stars. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained around the lake and they had an amazing time exploring and playing.

We had a fantastic stay the host Marg was very welcoming and even started a fire for us whilst we were setting up as it was pouring down rain at the time. Accessible to town but very peaceful surroundings very quiet. I was impressed with the fire pit located under the rotunda, that can be used whilst raining. The flexibility of using the amenities as well if required. We will certainly be staying again hopefully when the sun is out more!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Andrew's communication was excellent from start to finish, he was a very welcoming host, happy to be of assistance whenever needed. Easy access for a main street in Anna Bay Our 4WD Hilux easily managed to drive to camping areas, but 2WD would struggle up and over the hill if it has been raining. Andrew I am sure would communicate this when booking etc etc. The location is a great spot to base yourself and explore all that Port Stephens has to offer. Easy drive to Nelson Bay for whale watching (highly recommend doing), Anna Bay for Sand Boarding (highly recommend doing). IMPORTANT TO NOTE: This Hipcamp has no amenities at this time it is bring your own everything, I would not consider staying here if you are expecting a toilet/ hot shower Thank you Andrew for your space and hospitality - we will be back!
