I have come to love the Bungawalbin and have formed a very real bond with the whole area and have learnt so much in the journey. Like most parts of the East Coast the land has been badly managed since European invasion in the way of logging, grazing, farming and burning practices that have degraded the diversity of what was once possibly the most diverse part of Australia. The bush is resilient but there is a limit to what it can withstand and I fear this precious wetlands is disappearing fast. 5 years ago bushfires devastated the whole forest leaving very little undamaged and it is still struggling to recover. Then catastrophic flooding in 2022 destroyed the homestead. The property offers spacious, private campsites in a natural and tranquil setting. Bush walking and birdwatching are a must, or just relaxing by the billabong may reward you with a wildlife encounter. Come and enjoy this creek front campsite in the heart of the Tweed Shire. Nestled on the banks of Doon Doon Creek, clear constantly running water with a large swimming hole awaits you!. The property is a 300 acre working farm with horses, cattle and a friendly dog named Wal. Campers are welcome to explore the many walking tracks on the property as well as the bordering national park. Just a 800 metres from Clarrie Hall Dam, spend your days picnicking and paddling amongst the stunning scenery. The dam is stocked with Australian Bass for a fun day's fishing. Take a 5 minute drive to Uki a township where you will find an abundance of arts and crafts, weekend markets and a host of alternative/natural therapy practitioners. You'll reach the larger town of Murwillumbah in just 15 minutes and the famous Byron Bay in under an hour. Explore the nearby Northern Rivers Rail Trail - 24km of trail through working farms, lush rainforest, wide bridges and original train tunnels. PLEASE NOTE: there are public toilets at the village of UKI about 2km.

Our campground is on my family’s dairy farm that has been in the family since 1904. I’m the 4th generation on the farm and work alongside my parents and my husband operating the family business of milking cows. The campsite is on a private area of flat ground right beside the Oxley River with views of Mt Warning. We are excited to share our piece of paradise with others. We DO have a composting toilet but DON’T have any shower facilities. Although the creek is very close by we advise you bring your own drinking water. We are pleased to provide a gravelled campfire area along with a gorgeous outdoor setting that seats 8. Our campground provides a unique private camping opportunity. Once you book whether it is for a group of one or 25 no one else can book the site. The site is not visible from the road. Perfect for a relaxing getaway that brings you close to nature and connecting with friends. As we are a working farm, unfortunately, we cannot allow pets.

Nick's land is beautiful, lush green trees to shade you. The is creek right beside all 3 sites and the sound of the water is magical. The toilets are clean and easily accessible. The shower, once the gas was turned on, was great. Up the Creek is an easy 3km from the start of the rail trail at the Crabbes Creek end. We had a lovely few days enjoying the region. We were caught in a very heavy rain storm and Nick was a great host and checked in on us, offering dry fire wood. Not inclined to cook in the rain, we drove a short way up the road to Mooball for a cold beer and steak! Definitely recommend.

Thanks Nick, This was our 3rd stay and as usual the toilet was very clean and the grounds well kept ,, we happened to have an extremely wet 36 hours, the creek was really flowing and our site was well drained . We will be back to again ride the rail trail. Regards Dave and Rosemary
