If your heart beats to the vibrant drum of the Southern Highlands but you want the space and freedom of camping on a great river, then Wings of the Carribee is for you.
Two campsites share 20 Acres of cottonwood trees on the Wingecarribee river. They are 250m apart and both on the riverfront giving you the seclusion you need while allowing you access to all that the Highlands have to offer. Bring your fishing rod and yabbie net, sit at the large picnic table, rent a kayak and go for a paddle, come say hello to the miniature Hereford cattle and enjoy the half drum fire pit while watching the cows grazing across the river. If you are bringing dog(s) then they must be on a lead or consider Yabbie which is enclosed.
Of course you will be tempted to explore the area. Wings sits directly between Bowral and Moss Vale (both are less than 5km away) and is 14 km from historic Berrima so you can leave the camper and head into town to enjoy the old world charm of the area. The Southern Highlands is ideal if you’re wanting to escape Sydney (100km) or Canberra (160km) without lengthy travel. Discover all that the area has to offer including a host of idyllic country towns, fascinating shops and regular country events. With it’s abundant wineries, award-winning restaurants, culinary delights, and natural splendor, it’s the place to unplug, find yourself and indulge in some of life’s finest pleasures.
If the birds and the bees are your thing then you are also in for a rare treat. We have eastern greys, rabbits, the odd fox and a host of birdlife (eyes open for the resident wedgetail pair, pelicans, black swans etc.), but whatever you seek from your break, we look forward to hosting you.
Note that you have to bring your own toilet facility. Please confirm when you book that you are self sufficient in this regard.

Need to entertain the family? Head to Wombeyan Caves (now open) or Taralga Wildlife Park.
A little about us (Hannah and Craig): we are a young couple who live in Canberra and recently purchased the property. We plan to build on the property but want campers to enjoy the beautiful nature and wildlife in the meantime.

Our property is made up of native vegetation. Even with other campers you will feel like you are on your own. We are a 15 drive to the Bungonia National Park and have a few beautiful swimming spots within a 45 minute drive (or you can take a dip in the dam). Our property was once part of the Cobb and Co run and we have found a few artefacts over the years. Nearby Oallen Ford is great for gold prospecting. Located nearby is the Historic Loaded Dog Hotel and of course Goulburn's Big Merino.
YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN CAMPING TOILET.
There is plenty of wildlife to be seen. Kangaroos, wombats, possums, lizards, turtles and yes snakes. Birds from Australia's smallest, the Weebill, to the largest, Wedgetail Eagles can be frequently seen, along with many other birds.
GUIDELINES:
Cost is $15 per camper per night, kids 16 and under are free (just don't add them to your booking). We will allow up to 12 people on a site and we don't have a limit on the amount of cars per site. Sites are private but not totally flat. Fire pits are provided, along with firewood. Firewood provided is sufficient for a fire not a bonfire. All rubbish must be taken with you, no bins are provided at the camp sites. All campers (even if you didn't book the site) need to report to the house. Please don't just speed past the house, you will need our help finding your site. Please drive slowly on the property (10km/h) as we have dogs, children, sheep and horses. YOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN CAMPING TOILET.

Had a great stay at Yabie corner.Beautiful spot to stay with the grandkids. They loved the kayaks and catching yabies. The cows were a highlight. Kids loved them and they where very friendly even with the dogs.The hosts and his family great. Would highly recommend this camp.

This was truly a stunning stay. The views accross the water and the sounds of so many different bird life.
the area was fenced off so I felt totally safe letting the pups run freely.
Vallance was such an accomodating host who even on a Friday afternoon came down to help me out of a pickle I had gotten mysleft into.
Such a gentleman.
and if your lucky enough you might even get lucky with some free range eggs.
A beautiful spot.
I will re visit one day soon.

Just back from our long weekend getaway at the Old Air strip. Beautiful, secluded and lots of space. We setup at the dam. No alarm clocks needed as you wake up to the laugh of Kookaburra's while at night you are entertained by the sound of silence your bushveld tv (camp fire) and a frog choir.

Good spot if you plan to visit Wombeyan caves, it’s not very long drive from the campground. Campground was very easy to find (followed instructions from the host). Saw many kangaroos that night.
Toilet is not in good shape and it would be nice if it had a door (it was lying on the ground next to the toilet for some reason). Wasn’t an issue for us, but still would be better if it’s fixed.
We could hear a party from neighbouring property, but luckily they finished not very late at night and it wasn’t very loud, so it wasn’t an issue for us.
