Located approximately 4.5hours from Brisbane, Queensland, or 1.5 hour drive west of Tenterfield, New South Wales. Binghi Station, once a large sheep station, was a thriving tin and gem mine from the late 1800 to mid 1900.
Set on 4,000 acres of natural granite rock country and untouched overgrowth of lush tea tree bushlands, the sheer beauty of the land will, without a doubt, leave you breathless of its raw natural beauty.
Binghi Station surrendered to the ravaging bush fires of 2019, however, after this devastation came some much needed rainfall which brought hope; the creation of new life in the form of rich, vibrant green country not seen since the 1980’s.
You can explore endlessly on this raw outback property. Discover secret hideouts, come and enjoy a swim under our flowing waterfall (for those brave enough to during the winter months!) and simply relax and soak in pure wildlife beneath a million stars in the night sky.
Binghi Station is designed for the 4x4 enthusiasts. In other words we strongly recommend access by 4WD only as the entry 6klm driveway is very rugged and bumpy in most places due to heavy rain fall past 12 months. Please ask for more details if necessary should you have any concerns based on your equipment. Its an ongoing maintenance. Its the 4x4 adventure. We would rather talk it down than up:-)
Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down.
BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended.
ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character.
The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers.

When you book a site with us, you get exclusive use of that entire section of the property. This means you won’t be bothered by other guests and will have the opportunity to truly relax and reset. If you are our only guests at the time, you will have access to the majority of the property.
Camp Site One is at the top of our beautiful mountain and offers a very rare and special camping experience. Surrounded by pristine Australian bush and incredible rock formations, Camp Site One is a true gem that very few people have had the chance to experience—until now!
Camp Site One is currently only accessible on foot or by horse. However, over half the climb can be done by 4WD. The second half of the climb takes you past amazing natural formations with many photo opportunities. The climb has been achieved by people in their 70s, though a reasonable level of fitness, appropriate clothing (including sturdy footwear), and sun protection is advisable. Camp Site One is one of the most peaceful places to camp, with a truly healing energy.
Camp Site Two offers an awesome site with a mountain view. It is suitable for dirt bikes, horses, 4WDing, hiking, and much more. To access Site Two, a 4WD vehicle is preferable; however, it can be accessed by 2WD with sufficient clearance in dry weather.
Camp Site Three is accessible by 4WD trail only. Site Three is a real gem, a large area at the back of the mountain accessible by one trail in and out. It is suitable for dirt bikes, 4WDs, horses, hiking, exploring, and much more.
We also have unpowered sites for caravans and RVs. If you wish to camp on a site that requires 4WD access but do not have a 4WD, we can assist and drive you in and out for a small fee of $10 each way.
All sites have mobile phone coverage.

The Timbarra or Rocky River is an area
of great beauty
southeast of Tenterfield with soaring mountains cradling the river flats and undulating hills below and
is a renowned cattle breeding region.
The Petrie family have been in Tenterfield since 1860 and have owned
properties
in the valley for over 100 years.
Tim’s great-grandfather was known as Rocky Jack because of his extensive holdings.
Cattle are still walked up to the Timbarra Plateau property from the river properties
‘Man From Snowy River’ style.
The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River.
These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map.
The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres.
The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres
which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to
Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek).
The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail.
The eastern section of Washpool
stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool
is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located.
The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream.
Interestingly when
the Chinese gold
miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau.
Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags.
Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests.
The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren.
We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks.
The
valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding,
swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding
and canoeing,
or just kicking back
relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing,
or being amazed at the mirror like images on the waters surface on a still day or the flickering light of a campfire at night and the stars above.

"Jindalee" is located on a 500 acre property, 26kms east of Glen Innes. Being situated only 2kms off the Gwydir Highway, access is very easy.
We have moved our camping area to a new position on “Jindalee”. This area is in a sheltered glade with views out to the north.
There is a clean pit toilet with hand washing water. - bring your own drinking water.
It is a large open space suitable for even the biggest rig. We have camp fire areas and offer a supply of wood, more wood can be purchased off Bob the caretaker.
We are 40kms from Gibraltar Range National Park, pet friendly, and offer secure camping and a place to leave your pets so you can explore the area. We offer a pet minding service during the day for a small fee for those who want to visit the National parks.
There is a bitumen road to the boundary and then an all-weather gravel road to the site. Our camping sites are grassy and have a lovely view.

Harper Farms is a fourth generation, family owned cattle property out of the small township of Cangai; just 50 minutes west of Grafton. Located along the Mann River, just one kilometre off the Gwydir Highway, campers will find easy access to our riverfront site.
The property is bordered by the Dandahra Creek and the Mann River, and boasts a variety of native bird and wildlife; peacocks, platypus, ducks and the occasional pelican to name a few. The Mann River is open to fishing November - July; and is a local favourite as a kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming destination.
Beef cattle and stock horses have been run continuously on the property since the early 1900s, and our friendly horses and cows will often pay a visit to the campsite. Along with our working dogs, we also run a small breeding kennel of Golden Retrievers and Border Collies. Dogs are always welcome on the farm, and we simply ask that camp visitors keep them under their control during their stay.
A small shop with basic amenities (groceries, camp supplies, fishing bait, fuel) is located at Jackadgery; a 15 minutes drive east on the Gwydir Highway. To the west of Harper Farms lies the Gibraltar Range which hosts Washpool National Park with walking trails, waterfalls, rainforest and swimming areas.
Away from the city lights, the Cangai area offers exceptional stargazing and is popular with keen astronomers and photographers.
Our property currently hosts one large campsite; ideal for family and large group gatherings. Booking the site includes complete privacy for your group whether large or small.

Splitters Swamp Creek runs out of the hills, crystal clear water pours over the very beautiful granite rocks - creating a stunning waterfall and a shallow pool at the bottom. It then meanders gently down the valley surrounded by timber.
Visitors are welcome to walk a distance exploring the granite rock formations in and around the creek.
The campsite is located in a very private location, surrounded by a mix of vegetation and tall trees. There is a variety of native wildlife around, including bird life and a variety of wallabies. The native flora is beautiful, too.
In town you will find shops and suppliers for all your camping needs. While you're there, check out the heritage architecture, great cafes, interesting shops.
If you're up for an adventure further afield, the nearby national parks are perfect for outdoor adventures, from bushwalking to swimming and you can take the Boonoo Boonoo Falls walking track to a waterfall that drops 210 metres into a gorge, and enjoy eye-popping panoramas in Bald Rock National Park.

We have a stunning 640 acre cattle farm nestled in the hills of the Northern Tablelands, overlooking the Wellingrove Valley. Redbank has many beautiful places and things to see, including two natural gullies full of native birds and wildlife, native woodlands, four beautiful dams and wild fallow deer.
Redbank also has about 140ha set aside under Biodiversity Conservation Trust. This is a "no drive" area but always open to walking. There is a map available to show where everything on the property is located.
Redbank features diverse terrain, from secluded forests and woodlands to open undulating paddocks with excellent views and sunsets.
A campfire is allowed, however it needs to be kept at a reasonable size, especially during fire restriction periods. Please keep the fire within the allocated fireplace provided. At times we provide guests with firewood when we are able, but they are permitted to use nearby timber collected themselves.
We have multiple campsites available, however we realise that you may want to be independent and camp in a unique place! We understand this, however we will direct you to a spot which best suits the campers' and their vehicle type, as some of our tracks are 4x4 only. We limit numbers of groups to the number of campsites available. In this way, we protect the environment and wildlife. We will be here to help you decide on the best campsite on arrival.
There is some access to water (not necessarily drinking), but you will need to bring your own shower. There are no rubbish facilities or showers and limited access to toilet facilities.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under your control at all times as we have cattle on the property. We have a friendly Maremma guardian dog who can turn up unannounced. He will most probably lick you to death.

Currently we do not recommend SUV AWD type cars due to there lower profile and vulnerability to bumps and ruts. It is doable many do it all however about driver confidence and add another upto 2hours to trip :-) We recommend parking up the top driveway and having a preplanned lift down.
BE WARNED The driveway and some tracks are rough suited for 4x4 adventure enthusiasts that like to use there pride and joy offroad gear for what its intended.
ps One thing we can say you will never get bogged on our driveway no matter the rain fall as its very compacted despite its authentic rough character.
The Secret Gorge site is suited to tents, camper trailers and smaller length caravans. All our other site locations are suited to off-road 4WD caravans and camper trailers.

Camp Site One is currently only accessible on foot or by horse. However, over half the climb can be done by 4WD. The second half of the climb takes you past amazing natural formations with many photo opportunities. The climb has been achieved by people in their 70s, though a reasonable level of fitness, appropriate clothing (including sturdy footwear), and sun protection is advisable. Camp Site One is one of the most peaceful places to camp, with a truly healing energy.
Camp Site Two offers an awesome site with a mountain view. It is suitable for dirt bikes, horses, 4WDing, hiking, and much more. To access Site Two, a 4WD vehicle is preferable; however, it can be accessed by 2WD with sufficient clearance in dry weather.
Camp Site Three is accessible by 4WD trail only. Site Three is a real gem, a large area at the back of the mountain accessible by one trail in and out. It is suitable for dirt bikes, 4WDs, horses, hiking, exploring, and much more.
We also have unpowered sites for caravans and RVs. If you wish to camp on a site that requires 4WD access but do not have a 4WD, we can assist and drive you in and out for a small fee of $10 each way.
All sites have mobile phone coverage.

The Timbarra or Rocky River is an area
of great beauty
southeast of Tenterfield with soaring mountains cradling the river flats and undulating hills below and
is a renowned cattle breeding region.
The Petrie family have been in Tenterfield since 1860 and have owned
properties
in the valley for over 100 years.
Tim’s great-grandfather was known as Rocky Jack because of his extensive holdings.
Cattle are still walked up to the Timbarra Plateau property from the river properties
‘Man From Snowy River’ style.
The Plateau can be seen rising above the valley to the north from the confluence of Demon Creek and the Timbarra/Rocky River.
These flow along the Demon Fault which is clearly visible on a satellite map.
The 3 valley properties ‘Corner Camp’, ‘Boundary’ and ‘’Pavels’ combined with ‘Timbarra Plateau’ total over 25000 acres.
The whole valley was part of 2 earlier large selections averaging 100000 acres
which gradually became broken up in the late 1800s/early 1990s. There is a proud timber history in the valley and the surrounding forested mountains with large sections of State Forest now transferred to
Washpool National Park which abuts both the eastern and western boundaries of ‘Boundary’ (which takes its name from Boundary Creek).
The National Park and Forestland State Forest can be accessed to the west via the Billirimba Fire Trail.
The eastern section of Washpool
stretches across to the Clarence River, the largest eastern river in NSW. Washpool
is where the Cedar King went missing and was never located.
The Timbarra/Rocky River flows into the Clarence at Tabulam and then on to Grafton and out to sea at Yamba. The headwaters of the Rocky are all the way south to the Glen Innes Grafton road so the river can rise quickly if there is a downpour upstream.
Interestingly when
the Chinese gold
miners left the Timbarra Plateau they came down with rickshaws into the Timbarra Valley then scaled the mountains to the west, near Boundary Creek, looking for their next gold diggings towards Glen Innes. The Boundary campsites at Boundary Riverside, The Cockatoo, The China Wall, and the Caves are all suitable for caravans, RVs, Camping trailers, tents and swags as is Timbarra Plateau.
Corner Camp and Pavels are suitable for camping trailers, tents and swags.
Boundary campsites access are all unaffected if the river rises however we will not take bookings at Corner Camp or Pavels in the likelihood of the river rising as we are committed to safety and avoiding inconvenience for guests.
The Rocky is a very special place and we have campers who first came as children and are now bringing their grandchildren.
We expect our guests to treat the area respectfully, and only leave footprints and tyre tracks.

valley provides wonderful scenery and settings for bushwalking, birdwatching, photography, painting, bicycle riding,
swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding
and canoeing,
or just kicking back
relaxing by the river, listening to the soothing sounds of the water, birds, and the turtles and platypus splashing,
or being amazed at the mirror like images on the waters surface on a still day or the flickering light of a campfire at night and the stars above.

Harper Farms is a fourth generation, family owned cattle property out of the small township of Cangai; just 50 minutes west of Grafton. Located along the Mann River, just one kilometre off the Gwydir Highway, campers will find easy access to our riverfront site.
The property is bordered by the Dandahra Creek and the Mann River, and boasts a variety of native bird and wildlife; peacocks, platypus, ducks and the occasional pelican to name a few. The Mann River is open to fishing November - July; and is a local favourite as a kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and swimming destination.
Beef cattle and stock horses have been run continuously on the property since the early 1900s, and our friendly horses and cows will often pay a visit to the campsite. Along with our working dogs, we also run a small breeding kennel of Golden Retrievers and Border Collies. Dogs are always welcome on the farm, and we simply ask that camp visitors keep them under their control during their stay.
A small shop with basic amenities (groceries, camp supplies, fishing bait, fuel) is located at Jackadgery; a 15 minutes drive east on the Gwydir Highway. To the west of Harper Farms lies the Gibraltar Range which hosts Washpool National Park with walking trails, waterfalls, rainforest and swimming areas.
Away from the city lights, the Cangai area offers exceptional stargazing and is popular with keen astronomers and photographers.
Our property currently hosts one large campsite; ideal for family and large group gatherings. Booking the site includes complete privacy for your group whether large or small.

We have a stunning 640 acre cattle farm nestled in the hills of the Northern Tablelands, overlooking the Wellingrove Valley. Redbank has many beautiful places and things to see, including two natural gullies full of native birds and wildlife, native woodlands, four beautiful dams and wild fallow deer.
Redbank also has about 140ha set aside under Biodiversity Conservation Trust. This is a "no drive" area but always open to walking. There is a map available to show where everything on the property is located.
Redbank features diverse terrain, from secluded forests and woodlands to open undulating paddocks with excellent views and sunsets.
A campfire is allowed, however it needs to be kept at a reasonable size, especially during fire restriction periods. Please keep the fire within the allocated fireplace provided. At times we provide guests with firewood when we are able, but they are permitted to use nearby timber collected themselves.
We have multiple campsites available, however we realise that you may want to be independent and camp in a unique place! We understand this, however we will direct you to a spot which best suits the campers' and their vehicle type, as some of our tracks are 4x4 only. We limit numbers of groups to the number of campsites available. In this way, we protect the environment and wildlife. We will be here to help you decide on the best campsite on arrival.
There is some access to water (not necessarily drinking), but you will need to bring your own shower. There are no rubbish facilities or showers and limited access to toilet facilities.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under your control at all times as we have cattle on the property. We have a friendly Maremma guardian dog who can turn up unannounced. He will most probably lick you to death.

Binghi Station is a beautiful property about an hour west of Tenterfield. Accessible by 4WD only. The road is very uneven and steep in parts but solid. Expect hot and dry conditons in summer. We were there in December and very glad to see just enough water in the gorge for a swim. Sheepyard camp ground is spacious, with drop toilets and camp showers. We'll love to go back, but plan to book one of the spots close to the water. The gorge was magic. Thanks Adrian for popping in and the tips on where to swim. We felt very welcome.

Binghi Station was fabulous! We had the best time camping at the Sandy Falls campsite. Adrian was a fantastic host with excellent communication leading up to our stay and super friendly when we got there- only too happy to help at all times.
The site itself was lovely- private with a great drop toilet and a lovely outdoor shower- hot too if you timed it right- what a luxury! Space and quiet. The kids had a ball on the trampoline, and the dogs off-leash were enjoying their freedom. There was plenty to explore- The Gorge and Jumpin Rock were awesome for a refreshing swim. Even in the middle of summer, it was good weather with hot days and cool nights for a great night's sleep. We highly recommend this special place. Thanks for having us!!

This was our second visit to Wingfield and the second time I’ve typed this review (where did the first one go and while I’m at it Hipcamp, this keyboard on an iPad is almost unusable). Murray from Hipcamp is a great host and is quick to reply and help.
We were looking for an escape from the heat and somewhere quiet. Wingfield delivered both in an exceptional manner, and at times it almost felt like winter. There is an abundance of trees and shade, and Murray allowed us to
walk around his property. There are long walks you can do from camp or you are pretty central to day trips to the Granite Belt. Overall Wingfield is highly recommended.

Our stay at Splitters Creek was peaceful and gave us the serenity of the bush. The bird life was great and we enjoyed it.
We had to camp away from the waterfall as site 1 camp is right in front of entrance to the water so we were unable to use it.
The camping area itself is definitely suited better for one camp only. Other than that we had a nice stay and the property was great for the stars at night and its tranquillity.

We really enjoyed this camp. We were at the first campsite as you come in. It’s a “pick a site and the host will come by for a chat” setup, but we had no one camping near us and there were plenty of sites to choose from. The toilets were just a short walk away, and we were lucky enough to see wallabies and even a deer running through the field and over the rocks.

Stayed at the Kookaburra site and it was fantastic. Super private and well away from other campers.
River was down a small hill, right where you camp - banks were a bit reedy/tall grass but still easy to take a swim in the river.
No shade at all but we had our own shelter/awnings.
Showers and toilets were clean.
Honestly a great time, will be back!!!

This property is a great spot. 4wd is 100% needed to access the property. Adrian is an awesome guy, we forgot a couple of key things and Adrian did not hesitate to help us out. He is an amazing guy. The camping area itself has a beautiful sunset, and some great swimming holes after a long day. I will 100% be going back. Even considering making it a yearly trip. Adrian keeps numbers low so there is always plenty of room so campers are not stacked on top of each other. There is showers, but, it is a cold shower, so don't wait too late into the night. No power or phone reception, but exactually what i was looking for. My teenage daughter had to actually engage with me and not with a head in the phone. LOVED THIS SPOT!!!!

We spent four days at Binghi Station with our kids and friends and absolutely loved our time there. Adrian was very friendly and easy to contact whenever needed. The porta loos were clean and well maintained, and the camping spot itself was amazing, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
It was so lovely to see so much wildlife around us (aside from a few spiders, haha!).
Visiting Sandy falls is a must as it was so beautiful.
We would definitely camp here again — a well-deserved 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The family and I loved camping at Adrian’s land, we are definitely coming back, the camp sites are very close to water and the sheering shed compound site is only a little drive to any of the trails and watering holes.
Adrian is a top bloke and made us feel very welcome, the camp toilets and showers are very clean and tidy with disinfectant, toiletries and sprays to keep things clean! The local wildlife as well as the sheep were very fun to watch have a feed around the orange trees.
The track is a 4x4 must, I definitely wouldn’t have gotten my Subaru through most of it, we took a camper trailer and did fine!
We hopefully plan to make a return after some rains so we can see the beautiful waterfalls in action!

What an amazing spot to camp!!
Had Night Watch site..
3 of the most chilled relaxing nights camping with fun in the rapids, floating gently downstream , campfires, cows, sitting on Sunset Hill to watch the sun go down over the mountains... Flat grassy sites, great clean amenities..
Wish we stayed longer!!

Hands down one of my favourite camp sites I’ve been to, on the island simply amazing, very well spaced out, great host very welcoming, the river is amazing was nice warm water which was a nice change to what we normally expect, would definitely come back but for a much longer time, can’t fault a single thing 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend

Our family absolutely loved our stay at Fernlee Station. 'Nive Downs Sandstone' was the name of our camp site, a large well maintained area right on the Severn River, a large fire pit complete with large swinging BBQ plate and arm for hanging campovens. The camp is situated right were small rapids start, with the sound of running water all day and night. Fishing was a great success with many cod caught and released over our 5 day stay. Directions to the camp-site were very easy to follow. Being self-contained is a must. Highly recommend this camp site!

Lovely spot to park up for the night. Host came and said hello and was so nice!
Animals were very friendly and our 3 year old loved it!! Quiet and the showers/toilets were so clean and beautiful!
