We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area.
FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites our small kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. Whilst on property it’s a buzz of horse life and there are many horses in the paddocks that will be curious to see you and hang over the fence for a nice little scratch. You will notice an abundance of wildlife that will be around; lovely birds, kangaroos and wallabies and if you are lucky the local deer might call in either early mornings or on dusk. Plus of a night time stop and look up into the lovely night sky while listening to the abundance of frogs, crickets and other noises that come alive.
If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick!
While you are on the property and if you want to be apart of any extra activities you see please don’t hesitate to ask.
If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. There is the “Sugar Rush” stand opened at a certain time (maybe school holidays?) obviously One Mile beach is right there with awesome access plus amazing hikes and quad biking ect close by. Facility’s clean and well maintained, pick your time for showers though if you want a HOT shower. Great staff, great park. 4 kids and 2 adults really and truly enjoyed our stay.

My first solo camp with my dog. He loved it.
Everything was great, my camping area was very big, a good distance away from other campers.
Very peaceful and great for a fire and roasted marshmallows.
There is firewood you can purchase which is great. And fire pits at each site 🙌🏻
Make sure to bring some toilet paper when visiting the loo.
If you’re fussy with amenities, go stay at a fancy caravan park.
Great experience and a great weekend getaway.
I’ll definitely be staying again sometime.

We had a wonderful camping stay in a beautiful and peaceful location. One of the highlights was spotting wallabies around the area, which made the experience even more special and memorable. The surroundings were calm and relaxing—perfect for unwinding and enjoying nature.
The amenities were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully set up, which made our stay comfortable and hassle-free. Overall, it’s a great spot for anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy a quiet camping experience. We would definitely love to come back!

A beautiful, peaceful place to stay. Sites were well separated so it felt lovely and private. Access to the sites was a little tight (towing a 19’ van) but all good if taken slowly. Lisa was really responsive and helpful.

Wombats flat is the most beautiful camp ground, it made for the perfect stay. The scenery is lovely, and very peaceful and quiet. The set up is great, with a basic stove that we managed bacon and eggs on but took a while to warm up. It’s very dark, so makes for beautiful stars but would definitely recommend bringing substantial light to help cook under. Would definitely definitely recommend staying here- it was beautiful!

Alisa was lovely and met us arrival. Incredible to be able to camp right next to Lake Macquarie. They provided kayaks but we brought our own SUPs. Great for an early morning paddle before the wind comes up. Wood was even provided for a fire pit they have. Beautiful gentle grassy slope we found we needed bigger ramps than we brought. A quiet relaxed space. Thank you.

Nice place, very close to the beach, but shame the beach wasn’t dog friendly. Lots of kids as expected, but if that doesn’t bother you great place to go.

Check in was good and very informational. The laundry and amenities were clean and very functional. It was really quiet at night which was brilliant. A great spot to pull in just far enough off the highway to not hear it at all. Would be good for families.

Brad is an excellent host, around when you need him and happy to help. We found the amenities to be so clean and comfortable, dont forget your $1 coins for hot showers! The camp kitchen is excellent. Flat drive through sites, very close to the highway, perfect for the overnight stopover. Road noise is a thing here though, so if your looking for absolute peace and quiet, choose something further from the main road.
