We are farmers, living the dream on 500 acres in beautiful Bellingen. Our farm is called Levenvale Farm. You will feel a million miles away, yet we are only 7mins into the town of Bellingen. We run an organic cattle property and have found a few spots around our farm to share with campers and glampers. Our campsites are "Beyond the Bridge" and "Old Flat Camp". Both are on cattle paddocks and have private access to Hydes Creek. Hydes Creek is a murky sandy base creek. There's lots of logs so its not recommend to jump in, but it's beautiful to cool off in the creek on a hot day. Both campsites have access to our compost toilet, and camping shower (gas hot water). If you prefer a bit more comfort or don't have your own camping gear, you can escape the hustle and enjoy being perched up on one of the highest points on the farm (with incredible views), in our Farm Huts. Yarrawin is 680 acre cattle farm and hardwood timber plantation in the heart of the Nambucca Valley, offering scenic, secluded, private campsites with their own swimming hole and a river gravel beach on 3km of beautiful double river frontage. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. Think of The Good Life as a safe, private slice of bush that feels like the middle of nowhere, because it pretty much is. You’ll need to be fully self-contained and take everything you bring in back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories. What you do with your time is entirely up to you. Park yourself in a camp chair with a book, wander the farm, or lace up your boots and explore around 70 acres of bush tracks. When night falls, the stars put on a serious show and the silence is so complete you can actually hear yourself think. There’s no phone service and no Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. It’s the perfect excuse to ignore your emails. We've set up the camping area in a nice clearing immersed into the lovely natural forest surroundings. You will be camping next to an awesome lake where you can go for a paddle or a swim. Other than the summer hum of cicadas or the cackle of some resident kookaburras, it's peaceful and private. There are plenty of roos and wallabies around, as well as lots of birdlife including black swans in the lake. You can paddle in the lake and try to catch a fish there. We've set up a little homemade pontoon. So far only one spot to camp (that will fit up to 4 cars if you come in a group), so you will have the place all to yourselves. The next house (our Shouse) is at least 300m away from the camping area, so solitude and privacy is guaranteed. The property is close to plenty of beach options or nice little towns such as Woolgoolga (25 min south) and Grafton (25 minutes north).

2 nights at Yarralen Retreat

We had such a peaceful, relaxing stay. There were only 1-2 other campers so we had the place to ourselves essentially . . Sharing with Wallabies and resident birdlife. The facilities are thorough and very comfortable. Clean, with hot water. The camp kitchen is well stocked. Julie is generous with sharing her space, private features, garden etc, and the Billabong is beautiful. We could’ve stayed there forever!

What a great spot. I booked last minute and Sam was so accommodating. The kitchen shed was cosy and welcoming and the hot shower after too long in the ocean was divine.

Weekend Trip to Yarrawin Camping

Our stay at Ian's Hipcamp was everything we dreamed of and more. The camping spot is perfectly situated right on a beautiful, winding creek, offering the ultimate private escape. We were able to set up our camper right on the sandy bank, giving us direct access to the water for swimming and relaxing. The location is incredibly picturesque, featuring a stunning contrast between the lush, dense greenery lining the river on one side and an open, sunny field on the other. It feels wonderfully wild yet totally accessible. A huge shout-out to our incredible hosts, Ian and Bobbie! They were so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. They even surprised us with a batch of homemade brownies—such a thoughtful touch that truly elevated our stay. If you're looking for a truly peaceful, secluded experience to disconnect and enjoy nature, this is the place. Ian and Bobbie have created a hidden paradise—we can't wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Wild Nymboida Camping Dorrigo

Beautifully maintained camping area we had a huge grassy and flat spot by the river with a fire pit. Appreciated the çlean composting toilet. The swimming hole was deep and had a flat granite rock in the middle of the river that the kids spent hours jumping off. Stuart was an easy going host who offered us early arrival and late pack up. We had a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Trip to Bellinger River Camping

My partner and I really enjoyed our camping experience on the Belinger River.. The scenery was picturesque, lush green grass and landscape and a beautiful river to swim in. Also a great place for our fury child to run around.. Ben was prompt and easy to communicate with. You will need to be self sufficient and bring everything you need as there is no facilities apart from pit toilets. Which we enjoyed that part of it too. Close to town but still feels like you’re away from it all..

Beautiful quiet spot! Fire pit available and pic Nic table. Toilet and shower was easy to get to. The site is large enough for a caravan and a tent. I spoke with Sam briefly and he was very friendly 😊 We will return again!

We had a great time best camping spot I've ever been fishing and swimming and flying fox shack was great especially when it rained a bit at night animals roaming cows and horses great fire pit and not far to town can't recommend it enough thank u Ian and Bobbie

We absolutely loved this camp, it was private, quiet and peaceful. The swimming holes were great with lovely water and fun zip lines. Ian, Bobbie and their friends were amazing and willing to help out every day (plus there were delicious brownies on entry). There was so much space and beautiful views. We cannot recommend staying here more.

Our 3rd time to this property, 2nd time on site one, as usual Stuart has it well maintained and looking lovely. Excellent flat grassed campgrounds with heaps of room. This site is located on a bend in the river with easy access to deep pools and waterfalls. After our second trip is the pic of the three in our opinion. Host advisers 4WD only and he is right. The track in and out after a spot of rain in very slippery. We suggest taking some basic recovery gear such as recovery tracks.

We were absolutely stoked with our 3-night stay at Way Way Getaway!! It offered a "proper" bush experience—we made friends with the trees and even rode out a staggering thunderstorm—all with the benefit of total peace of mind, knowing we’re safe. Camping on this site really felt like home! The property is the perfect balance of nature and convenience, located just a stone's throw from Scott’s Head for incredible cafes, amenities, natures walks and stunning surf beaches. We stayed on Site 6 with our Nissan Patrol and a double-fold camper trailer; access was easy and manoeuvring it was a breeze. Sam is a super helpful and relaxed host. Since the other sites weren't busy, he was extremely accommodating and let us pay a bit extra to use the shower and toilet (a couple of mins walk from site 6). Speaking of which, it was hands down the cleanest composting/bush toilet we’ve ever used—a very impressive and sustainable setup! We generally had the best time ever and will definitely be coming back again! Thanks, Sam, you total legend!
