Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. We share the property with lots of wildlife, and with our resident cows. There is currently only one camping site accessible by car (the River Block), but if you're up for a trek we can point you to the back hills where you'll find a whole other world. Your hosts live further back on the property so you can find us if you need help. Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all. There are no bins here... please remove all your rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome (when no fire ban). You can bring your own firewood, or gather what fallen timber you can find. There is currently no toilet, shower or drinking water so please bring your supplies. Pets possible on request. We had a small group of families. Mix of sleepers in the house and campers. You get all the freedom and natural surroundings of bush camping with the simple pleasures that come with a full resourced home. The creek is divine. The breezes ideal flowing under the verandah. We will be back.

2 nights at Figtree Farm at Findon Creek

Five wonderful nights spent tucked away at Eagles Rest in Findon Creek. Nestled in lush green hillside, this thoughtfully designed, purpose built home provided a peaceful sanctuary. We enjoyed everything from outdoor showers to refreshing dips in swimming holes and relaxing evenings around the fire pit under a star spangled sky. The space allowed us to be completely at one with nature, being surrounded by an abundance of bird song. We wished we could have stayed longer, but we look forward to a return visit. Thank you to our hosts Andrzej & Jane for responding promptly to any small queries during our stay.

It is so quiet and picturesque, the view is amazing. Jess has kept it simple yet everything you need is there. We went gold fossicking down the road for a bit of fun. There is a local shop nearby with the bare necessities at a reasonable price. Loved having a fire place .

Beautiful location for a long weekend! Peaceful, quiet setting with 360 degree views of bushland & mountains. We stayed as 2 families with kids. Loved the setup of the cabin & veranda overlooking grassed area to set up a fire or play. Gorgeous creek on the property provided many hours of exploring for the kids.

We stayed in the new cabin and it was perfect. Comfy bed, furnished and decorated beautifully. The little outhouse toilet was clean and located in a great position. The farm is in a good location and the animals are friendly. The sound of the running creek is extremely relaxing. We found good sized agates and common opal in the creek. We would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back again, hopefully soon. The hosts are super friendly and helpful.

You have to try the Brushtales Bush Cabin hosted by Jess to believe it. My son and I planned on camping, but the long range weather forecast predicted ridiculously low temperatures and a chance of showers, so we upgraded to Jess' cabin. Talk about having everything we needed. Hot showers, wood fire, warm beds and everything that the fully kitted out cabin had to offer. We really didn't need to bring anything! I was very disappointed when my son discovered NBN internet access. My son, not so much! 😀 Like others before me, I am already planning a return trip in the near future. Thanks. John.

The cabin and facilities were clean, comfortable, well presented and everything you need in a private location. Accessing the rail trail was very easy, just down the road, ride straight from the door. If you’re looking for a comfortable, private base to take on the trail and enjoy the surrounding sights I highly recommend a stay here.

Weekend Trip to Figtree Farm at Findon Creek

We loved staying in JB's Cabin at Valley's End. It was the perfect space for two families to enjoy a relaxing weekend away. The outlook from the decks of the cabin is beautiful and the whole area so peaceful. Kids loved exploring the creek! We enjoyed having both the inside and outside fire places and the small space heaters in the bedrooms came in handy on a particular chilly morning! My small suggestion would be to add hooks or towel racks in the main bathroom. Thank you Jane and Andrzej for sharing you little piece of paradise with us and your warm hospitality.
