Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Brightwater sits beside Olney State Forest and Kuluwan Flora Reserve. It is a 50-acre farm with a lovely spring-fed dam, with our nearby campsite. The site contains van parking, an open pavilion, an open deck by the stream, a fire pit, and a dunny. It is private and secluded, and with just one group staying at a time, you are guaranteed the space to yourselves. Please go straight ahead on Collins Ave and enter through the car entrance, NOT the truck entrance which is off to the right. If you come in the truck entrance I can't see you. There are many beautiful walking and bike trails in the area. Lots of wildlife to meet, including water dragons, wild ducks, and pythons, to name a few. There is also nearby evidence of the original occupants, the Darkinjung people. You are also welcome to bring a couple of horses! There's a safe paddock with a trough and nice trails in the area to explore. The Kulnura General Store and bottleshop is just 9km down the road for basic supplies.

Fantastic spot with plenty of privacy and time to enjoy nature. We had a cattle dog who's is reactive and were able to let him off leash during the day, he was tied up at night and left alone by Cath's dogs. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get away and spend some peaceful time in nature.

Loved this campsite. Even though it was only an hour from Sydney, it really feels like you’re away from it all. The facilities are awesome and the property is beautiful. We had the camping area to ourselves for most of the weekend but even with another group there it felt very private. Great access to Sea Cliff Bridge area. My dog also loved this place. I would love to come back!

The place is a nice option if you’re after a no-fuss camping experience without heading hours out of town. It’s close enough to the city to make a quick getaway feel doable, but still secluded enough that you get that proper “away from it all” vibe. The setup is simple and suits soft-core campers who just want an easy spot to pitch a tent without wrestling with the wilderness. There are plenty of amenities around — a kitchen with the basics, fire-compatible pans and kettles, and a great shower that’s a nice surprise after a day outside — so you’re not roughing it. The space has a relaxed feel that makes it easy to unwind. It’s the kind of place where you can switch off for a night or two without doing a full-on camping mission.

The experience was perfect. The campsite is close to a stream and a pond, with a great fire pit and tap water , a large shed to enjoy leisure time, and a convenient toilet. There are also several excellent hiking trails nearby, where you can enjoy the natural beauty when the weather is nice. It's easy to get in and out, and you don't need a 4x4 to get there(i drive a suv). All in all, it was an unforgettable experience. Five stars recommended!

Located just one hour from Sydney, our property features 19 acres of pure serenity with two dams and one large enough to kayak on (kayaks supplied). The back of the property is perfect for camping and suitable for a small to medium caravan/camper. The larger dam has a picnic area and kayaks available to paddle on. Adjoining our property is Nattai National Park with a lovely 20 minute walk down to Little River. The Aqua Pool Trail in the National Park is just gorgeous. If you wish to try and catch some yabbies from the dams the only allowable and fun way is by a long stick and sausage. Hooks, fishing lines and traps are not allowed as we have people, dogs and horses swimming in the dams. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their shower/toilet set up. We do have two drop pit toilets available and each campsite has a pit fire provided. We are getting low on firewood so you will need to bring some along with you. There is access to drinking water. Our property is 2WD accessible and can accommodate small caravans and camper trailers. Not far from Buxton is Thirlmere where the Steam Train Museum is and train rides are available on the weekends, a great activity for the kids. Thirlmere Lakes National Park is perfect for a relaxing picnic, walk, birdwatching, and glimpse into locomotive history. Mittagong and Bowral have great wineries with restaurant/bistro. Pets are welcome. There's a range of different bushwalking trails in the region, including Starlights trail, a scenic bushwalk suited to experienced hikers, which forms part the Greater Blue Mountains trail network between Mittagong and Katoomba.

Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. This property is a Pristine Riverfront property in Colo Valley. It is a tidal river with sandy shallow sandbars and 10ft deep swimming holes. There is an abundance of native animals here including kangaroos, lyre birds, lace monitors, platypus and more! Access is via a short dirt driveway to the riverfront camping area. The access is 2wd unless there has been significant rain it becomes 4wd access.We can accommodate both small and large groups with sites just steps away from the river. We have 2 water entrances, one is a large grassed area with shallow water which is great for kids & families. The other entrance is a natural sandy entry with a deeper swimming area suitable for adults. We also have a beautiful lagoon area where I can arrange additional campers. We have built some new flushing toilets (3) with a hot water shower.We are very accommodating of your pets. We welcome dogs and can host horses in one of the paddocks. Please ensure you contact the host prior to your stay if you are bringing any animals. We have canoes & floats which you can hire to paddle up the river. Additional activities here include fishing, swimming, bushwalking, canoeing & birdwatching. Accessible only by boat, this secluded and lovingly decorated house at Bar Point on the Hawkesbury River, (aka Deerubbin,) is only an hour from the Sydney CBD. Surrounded by National Parks and completely free of cars and traffic, this is a beautiful little retreat, perfect for a family or a group of friends to meet up and re centre. At Bar Point there are no shops or cafes so you must bring everything you need with you, basic pantry staples such as salt, pepper, cooking oil etc are provided. Kayaks, fishing poles and crab pots provided. Our own private residence is a separate apartment upstairs, there are no shared walls or internal stairs and you will have your own private entrance, however as it is a large, old wooden house you may at times hear us moving about upstairs, naturally we try to be as quiet as possible when we have guests visiting. We will leave you entirely to yourselves but if you do need any help or information or even a little guided walking tour of the locality we are very happy to accommodate you. Our sauna deck is a shared area which guests are welcome to use, heating the sauna takes an hour or two, so just let us know and we will get it all ready for you with fresh towels, scented oils and branches of freshly cut lavender or wormwood to create a beautiful ambience.

We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.
